We hired Greg for an Association Conference at the Langham hotel in Pasadena, CA in 2016, and again for the conference at the Hyatt Mission Bay, in San Diego, CA in October 2017- a 3-day event, with about 300 people attending, consisting of educational sessions, keynote speakers, awards ceremonies, fundraisers, and an exhibit hall. We have been the event planners for this conference for the past 9 years, our photography budget is not large, and we have struggled each year to find a photographer who is affordable and knows how to shoot conference events.Greg is the photographer we have been waiting for all these years. He responded quickly to our quote request, with a detailed and very reasonable quote. When we met him for the first time, about 30 minutes before he was to begin shooting the conference, he was friendly, smiling, and seemed to know exactly what we wanted and made us feel that he would deliver. Throughout the 3-days of the conference, Greg was always prompt in showing up (even early), he seemed to be everywhere at once and always around when you needed him. After the conference ended, we received the photo files within just a couple of days.The photos are BEAUTIFUL. Greg managed to get multiple, excellent shots of everything and everyone. This is the first time in our 8 years of handling this conference that we are 100% happy with the event photos.The icing on the cake is that Greg has a winning personality. He is funny, engaging, knows how to make people smile and feel comfortable. We hired Greg to take a picture of our church choir, so we may add it to our wall of history, and make a gift to each singer with a print. Greg was on time, set up quickly, and began the session. My choir found him to be a joyful soul, and it was a positive experience. One week later, our photos were delivered, ready to be handed out, as well as the entire collection of all shots in digital form, (He had used one of our Sopranos as a test subject and he was kind enough to forward that to us, and it was fantastic shot of her). I just wanted to thank you for the great pictures. We couldn’t have been more pleased. The family and individual shots turned out better than we expected. You have quite the eye for background and lighting. I had something in my mind that would work, yet you asked if you could do the pictures in a different setting…WOW! They are amazing. Additionally, I wanted you to know how comfortable you made all of us feel. My teenagers didn’t show the same enthusiasm for “family portraits” that I did. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience with GV Photography. Greg was just wonderful. Everyone who has seen our pictures just loves them and is hoping to have Greg shoot their wedding (should they ever have one). The pictures came out better than we could have hoped. It was a very windy day and I was concerned that every picture would show someone with their hair flying all about, Greg timed the pictures just perfectly that you cant even tell it was such a blustery day. We spoke several times throughout the wedding and before and he answered any silly questions that we had and was patient with us. This was the first time we had gone through the wedding planning process we had lots of questions, he helped us through the process and was great fun to work with. Greg was very easy to work with, knowledgeable, courteous and friendly. He understood exactly what we wanted from start to finish and the final product was absolutely beautiful. We recently employed Greg Verville of GV Photography to photograph our son’s wedding and are pleased to recommend him highly for reasons outlined below.
Due to a misunderstanding with the wedding organizers, we were obliged to make arrangements for a photographer in a distant city with only two weeks remaining. Having never hired a wedding photographer and with no chance to interview him/her, we were understandably nervous. We chose to go online and were attracted to Mr. Verville’s skills by the quality of the images on his website and by the manner in which he responded to our telephone calls. We found him very easy to communicate with and utterly reliable. He responded promptly to our numerous questions and accommodated every one of our requests. This was a large wedding consisting of diverse groups of people, and we were impressed by the manner in which he interacted with the different groups, gaining their confidence by the friendly and unobtrusive way in which he photographed them. He has a special knack for putting people at ease for portraits. The result is several hundred high quality images that capture all elements of an extended wedding ceremony and dinner.
His responsiveness was further evident in the post-wedding period when, in less than a week, he put these images on a website and provided us with DVD’s of downloadable high quality photos.
In summary, we couldn’t be more pleased; he is the consummate professional from start to finish. If you are looking for a highly skilled photographer who is dependable and works well with diverse individuals, we recommend Mr. Verville without reservation.

Greg you and your 2nd photographer Jeremy are awesome photographers!! Very nice and just so easy to work with and talk to. We were very pleased and surprised how flexible and easy-going your team was. You both listened to to our wants and needs but also had really helpful suggestions making everything fit together even better than we could have wanted. Greg never seemed to take a break making make sure he captured every little and big moment throughout the night. It was crazy how most of the time we didn't even realize he was taking pictures, but he gave us a sneak peak of a few shots - awesome!! I couldn't have asked for more in a photographer. Greg took absolutely beautiful pictures of our wedding and surpassed our every expectation.
Plus he was SO easy to work with - we never worried about what he was doing. He showed up on time, rallied & organized everyone when it was time for group pictures, and made us all laugh while doing so. There was no drama or grief from him (which is more than I can say about my florist!)
I can't wait to share all the photos with our family and friends, and even our children one day! I am really thankful to have found such a great photographer and would absolutely recommend GV Photography to all you future brides.

What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Knowing at least a little about your subject, whether its a person, place or thing....lol. With people I really like to joke around as much as possible to bring in positive energy and lessen any anxiety or uncomfortable feelings someone might have. If the environment calls for serious then of course its focus time. Using your available light and knowing when to add more is also very important.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
Of course I ask who, what, where, and when. But also, if possible, I will research the people involved and the places where the job is taking place.
What do you love most about your job?
Great photos, traveling to and seeing new places, experiencing different cultures, getting people to laugh and enjoy the photo process!
What inspired you to start your own business?
Knowing that my boss would be an excellent mentor, and fun to work with....lol. Plus the freedom to choose what and how to do my business.
Why should our clients choose you?
My experience, ability to make others comfortable, and most of all have fun and get awesome photos!!!!!
