I messaged Michael around 11pm and he responded quickly and fit me an appointment the next day! Michael is very accommodating and welcoming! He offered me snacks and water. My hairdresser Nery did a great job washing, cutting, and styling my hair. The hair product she used also smells really great, like warm baked vanilla. My experience was great from start to finish,, as soon as I walked in I got a relaxing shampoo,, then my hairdresser Veronica listened to exactly what I wanted,, having long hair I always get anxiety of the hair dresser cutting too much,, but not here,, she kept my long length while giving my hair life and volume again with sleek long layers,, will definitely be a returning client.

Impromptu trip to this place for my 3 boys haircuts since my usual barber shop was booked for the day, this is in the same shopping center as them. I had previously read the reviews of Genesis and they looked good but I was extremely satisfied with my other barber shop so I didn't see a point in checking them out... till like I said, my shop was booked for the day and I only had that day available to get my boys their haircut. This place literally blew my mind, the owner was so welcoming and super nice. Def all about customer service!!! Complimentary snacks and drinks, the price is reasonable for each cut, $15 each! The work was amazing and I was out of there in less then 2 hrs (luckily due to a cancellation they had as well) however next time, we will make an apt FREE of charge! Other places charge to get an apt ‍ unfortunately so it adds up. So I saved some $, saved time and was surprisingly extremely satisfied with the work as well! Gained a new customer for sure  P.s We bought a new gel as well and they have a return policy available, if for whatever reason you weren't satisfied with the product you can exchange for a different one until you are happy with something that works for you too! I totally recommend going to Genesis Beauty Salon to get your hair done. Getting a haircut can be pretty scary (especially when you have curly/frizzy hair and have horror stories with getting haircuts), so I was really nervous finding someone to cut my hair in OC. I've come to Genesis three times since I moved to OC over a year ago!I remember researching hair salons on yelp, and calling Genesis Beauty Salon (Michael) to ask about their prices and experience with curly hair. Michael was able to quell my fears and I had an appointment with Nery. I've been happy with every haircut since and keep coming back to Nery every time!The atmosphere is great and the salon is clean. I can call and make an appointment within a week, and they are always ready for me right on time when I come in for my appointments!One of the best parts about coming to Genesis is how friendly Michael is. Alexandra and Michael have a fantastic business here! Came here from nyc on vacation with the family and they were able to take me immediately and give me a consultation. I gave Alex a picture of what I wanted and she did exactly that, and then went above and beyond to correct my haircut. She also worked quickly and diligently. I'm so shocked what a wonderful place this turned out since it's difficult to find such great service in nyc unless you spend an 'arm & a leg.'  They know how to do blonde and explained how to maintain it afterwards! First off I'm very VERY picky with who cuts my hair but I couldn't take it anymore I looked on Yelp found this gem and gave them a try. . I had the pleasure of meeting michael (he is VERY nice and easy to talk to) ...and getting my hair cut by Letty she's quick and she knows what she is doing... my hair was long and dead but she brought it back to life, she cut alot off but it somehow still looks long I LOVE IT!!! Gracias por todo Michael, Neri, and Alex! I went to a previous salon that absolutely destroyed my hair. Just a couple months ago my hair was past my waste line, but after going to another salon it was so frail and damaged there was not point in keeping it. I'll admit I was nervous to chop off my hair because I've never done it, but Michael and his team were welcoming and made me feel comfortable immediately.They made sure I was happy with everything, and I'm honestly truly glad I came here. My family and friends love my new hair!  as for myself, it'll take some getting used to.. but I'm really glad I did it. I found Genesis online and there were good reviews. I am from out of the area so I had to rely on Yelp reviews to find a place!   I wanted a good head massage after a long day of workshops and client visits.  Nothing better than a head massage with a blow-dry to top it off:)  I called and they got me in within 45 minutes and that was awesome.  Lettie met me, asked me how I wanted my style and I showed her a picture.  She massaged some great conditioner onto my head and five minutes later rinsed and styled.  She did a wonderful job.  I would visit her anytime.  The gentlemen and ladies that came in all went out with great looking hair. Me encanto mi pelo! I was helped by Neri. She did a great job of cutting my dead ends and blow drying my hair. She has such a soft hand that I almost fell asleep while she blow dried my hair! !! She cut off so much dead hair but still left it at a great length. The price was incredibly affordable especially for being in the OC and she shampood, cut and blow dried my hair. Came in on a whim to get my hair toned because it was getting pretty brassy, but I wanted to hold off on any bleach for the time being. I made an appointment but I guess it never got taken down so I waited about 10 mins before I got helped. The woman toning my hair was very fast, but she washed my hair very nicely and applied a nice smelling oil, giving it back life and a new ashy silver color. She also styled it into waves after a quick trim of my split-ends and I left the salon really loving my hair. For the quality and time of my hair, $75 is a great price for toner + trim! I will say the only downside is that after only one wash 3 days later (using purple shampoo & other things to maintain my color), the ashiness faded a good amount and I noticed a couple of patches that didn't get toned as much, which are either really brassy or much darker than the rest of my hair. My daughter wanted blue balayage highlights. Her hair is extremely long as you can see. When I shopped around for a stylist, I got Michael on the phone. My first impression was good. He was very nice over the phone and, in comparison to other salons I've called, they were reasonably priced.Michael and his wife, Alex, own the salon. They are so kind and hospitable. He offered my daughter and I chips and water. He even offered me wine! Alex and Michael made my daughter feel comfortable and at ease. They are a great couple and work well together. They work with your requests and concerns, and advise on hair care. This is the only hair salon I have ever felt comfortable and at ease. I do not cut my hair as often as I should (every 2 years... please don't judge), but my hair has maintained relatively good health since I have been with them. My first time at Genesis Beauty Salon was amazing! I first called to make an appointment, and Michael quickly gave me a same-day appointment about 30 minutes later. Once I walked in through the door, he greeted me with a very friendly and outgoing welcome. I unfortunately didn't get the name of my stylist, but she was one of the most talented stylists I ever had. I showed her a picture of the short bob style I wanted, and she went straight into business, meticulously cutting my long hair with great care. Once the haircut was done, I was very satisfied with the results. The haircut was pretty affordable too ($30), and Michael was even generous enough to let me pay through Venmo when I was about to pull out my credit card! This was my first time at Genesis Beauty and it definitely won't be my last! I went In for a balayage and mike and Alex were so helpful & sweet. They are very honest with you and what to expect! Alex word wonders for my Hair!! My hair was extremely damaged & ruined from the last stylist I went to. She helped correct the look I was originally going for & cut my damaged ends off. You guys saved me!! I ignorantly colored my own hair, thinking I knew enough from the internet... worst mistake. I did this late last night. I called right when Genesis opened at 11, telling them I'm in the parking lot, fingers and toes crossed they can see me ASAP. They squeezed me in and fixed the damage I did. And on top of that, it looks AMAZING! I'm loving the new color (plus I got my hair cut). While most places take advantage of this opportunity to overcharge, Genesis did not. I've been looking for a salon within the area for some while now, but always get anxious or iffy about trying a new salon. . Way too many horror stories and disappointments. I like to keep my hair short, either in a pixie or short bob, and short hairstyles are actually pretty hard to cut or at least hard to make it look good... since there's so much detail that goes into cutting short hair. After months a debate, finally decided to check out Genesis Salon due to all the raving reviews. I arrived right on time, but they were a bit backed up from the busy day. Michael was really friendly and funny, and I didn't mind the minor wait. Alex was my stylist, and she was simply amazing! And, very quick too. It was one of the fastest haircuts I've ever received, which made me feel a bit iffy but after checking my hair out in my car.. I LOVED IT! I am ecstatic about my results. I went in asking for a bayalage cut and style. I am deathly afraid  of salons to begin with because most of them were expensive and still managed to mess up my hair in the past and it had been 2 years since I went to a salon because of it.  Genesis salon told me that the color of the bayalage I wanted was not possible and they weren't willing to try it and ruin my hair but to my amazement it turned out better than I could have hoped!!! Their recommendations turned out phenomenal and they were so affordable! Normally a cut, style and bayalage would be anywhere from $200-400 dollars depending on what part of orange county you're in and they charged me $140. I'll be brief ( which is really hard for me)A big great THANK YOU to the team at Genesis's hair salon!!! My gratitude is so big that I can't express enough. I called in late Saturday afternoon for the first time and with hopes that the hair gods were with me this time around. Michael took my call and worked in an appointment for next morning at 9:00 AM while he was having a wedding party getting dolled up. (Everyone looked so cute and happy) He was so welcoming and grateful to have me there despite the caos of this place being packed and busy. My new favorite go-to hair salon!! I came here after looking on yelp for a place to cut my hair, specifically, a trim. The salon is in a plaza that is close to a boba shop that I normally go to and I can't believe I never noticed it! The staff is super welcoming and I came in as a walk-in. They are all super nice and friendly! As part of the hair cut, they wash your hair and even gave me a hair treatment since my hair was super dry. I really appreciate all of the technician's hair recommendations on how to take care of my hair from now on out. My hair looks a lot more healthier and soft! Great customer service, people here are very welcoming and they know what they're doing. It's always hard to find a hairstylist that knows what they're doing. Love my hair cut! I called beforehand to see if they had any openings and they did! Got my hair washed and ready for the cut. I showed Alex the picture I was aiming for and she did a pretty good job! I never expect to look exactly like the picture cause I know there's a lot more going on in the picture than a single haircut, so I'm glad Alex was able to get the idea I was going for.
