At this point, Galaxy Event Center is about 1 year into business and between myself and a couple other people I know who've contracted there, I can draw these opinions. The food selection, pricing, and service is generally pretty good. I was very pleased with our event having the Island Escape Buffet. Very tasty. We had a lot of good comments on appetizers, meal and desserts.The venue itself is clean and well situated for a range of groups. It's a very configurable room that can be changed up depending on what you're doing. A/V is operating well, although screens are a little small for the size of room they have. Easy to adjust volume/lighting that needed no training for me to operate.The location makes for a great change-up to your standard conference or hotel facility. Even just being inside a family fun zone can be helpful to break out of your typical boring facility. I think the big stars in the room are going to get dated very quickly, but whatever.Here are my biggest gripes:1) READ YOUR BEO/CONTRACT very closely. If it's not written down, it''s not happening without a lot of attitude from day-of event staff. And probably a 25% surcharge. They are absolutely militant on service times: food is pulled exactly at 60 minutes from a buffet, even if not everybody has been served; drink fountains are turned off. It's a bit over the top, even if they're friendly about it with a smile. There is no room for making easy accommodations or variances. It's definitely not Bob Farrell, just "give em the pickle" training.Also, I think having to give a final catering count (without a 25% increase) 10 full days before an event is way too long a lead time. Most hotels are 1 week at most and Riverside is just 3 business days.2) Communication with sales staff needs to improve. Emails frequently go unanswered in a timely manner and the handoff between sales staff and banquet staff isn't exact. For example, I indicated I didn't want to use drink tickets but have open bar for a period of time on my final BEO. This didn't get passed along and so I had people coming back to me from the bar saying they were rebuffed, even after I had explained it.3) If you are also coordinating with Wahooz for event passes, be sure you are clear again on start-stop times. Our passes were preprinted well before we intended the 3 hour pass to end and it was a hassle passing the word to all the attendants that our clearly t-shirted group of kids was there from 7-10 PM regardless of what their wrist band said.4) This didn't happen to me but did at two other events I know: the soda machines are in the big conference room and fill up with ice and deice all day long. So if a person decides to go get a soda while somebody is speaking, it's very loud. Clunk clunk clunk goes the ice - PSHHHHHHHHH goes the soda. Meeting spaces are great. Just a few technical glitches. They have a fundamental misunderstanding about the importance of coffee vs soda during long meeting days. Need way more access to coffee.

Store convenient and fair process for company meetings. Only been there for smaller group meetings, but they take really good care of you and are reasonably priced. The food options are way better than any hotel food or topical convention food options. Would definitely recommend using Wahooz for a meeting space/convention. This place was surprisingly great. Our organization came here for a staff training session, and I didn’t have high hopes, but I was wrong. The place was great! The rooms were spotless and neat. The furniture was comfortable and clean. The bathrooms were spotless and well maintained. And the food was excellent! I have a food issue, and they went out of their way to ensure I had something fresh and carefully prepared. I think I had the better meal over the buffet! UPDATE: After posting my original one star review, I received a response from Wahooz that was very kind and apologetic. I am pleased with the way they remedied the situation and feel that my original experience with the Galaxy Event Center was not a reflection of the company as a whole. Although I wish they had better explained to me the late fee (They DID confirm with me on the phone that the late fee was $563 which they are now saying was never the case.) I’m still very thankful that they made it right with me and more importantly were incredibly gracious with me in the end. This is how business should be done and I would be happy to recommend a friend to the Galaxy Event Center. Thank youTia GO ELSEWHERE! I cannot urge you enough to take your business elsewhere. I had to learn the hard way. I was tasked with planning our highschool reunion this Spring and after lots of research, I decided to book the Galaxy Event Center. This venue was a little bit less expensive than its competitors in the Treasure Valley so I paid the $232 deposit and booked our event for May 2019. Upon signing the contract, I was told that I needed to have the final headcount for the buffet dinner in by April 24th. After wrangling RSVP's and money out of my classmates, I had our final headcount at 40 people. I was a dingbat and forgot to call the venue to give them the update by the 24th. On the 26th, I realized my big mistake and called them immediately, apologizing profusely. I take FULL RESPONSIBILITY for the fact that I neglected to give them my final headcount in time and I understand that this warrants some kind of penalty. I was told when I called that they could accommodate the number of guests fine but that there would be a late fee for my negligence. Again...I see this as fair. BUT I was astounded to hear that the late fee was $563!!!! On top of an already $1200 event! I was so disappointed because I couldn't afford this fee so I was forced to cancel the event. The staff seemed very unaffected by my decision and quickly reminded me that I had to forfeit my $232 deposit. I have never felt more like a dollar sign to a company than I did in this situation with the Galaxy Event Center. They felt robotic in treating our situation with so little compassion. I believe that no business should be so "married to the rules" that there isnt enough grace to at least be kind. It was essentially a "You screwed up. We don't tolerate that around here. Sorry not sorry" type of vibe. Thankfully, I was able to scramble and pull together our event despite this loss but I will NEVER recommend this place to anyone. I wish that I had gone with Dave and Busters or Big Al's. It would have been worth paying a bit more for a MUCH better experience. Was really surprised at the size of the event center. I figured it would be intermixed with rowdy kids, and while we did have to walk thru them to get to the event center, once inside it was it's own little world. The only thing is I wish they had a restroom in the event center area, so you didn't have to go out thru the restaurant and into the kids arcade area. More...

I wish there was an option for more than 5 stars! We celebrated my grandsons 5th birthday party at your facility and I could not have been more impressed! Our host - Elwin - did the best job ever! His attentiveness to the needs of our guests was stellar. Every aspect was taken care of, from the party games to the opening of presents to even serving the cake! The Galaxy Event Center is AMAZING! The staff their was absolutely WONDERFUL! They are polite, kind, and very helpful. When we were there, we had our 3 kids under 5 years old which can be a handful, and the staff jumped right in and helped us get situated and get everything together so that we could enjoy our dinner. The other thing that I love about this event center is the PARKING! Oh my goodness, going downtown to an event is fun, but finding a place to park and then dealing with traffic and everything can be a nightmare. At the Galaxy Event center, they must have at least 1000 park spaces right outside the building that you don't even need to pay for!
