So I have never eaten at a place like this before I was a little skeptical because it has a Japanese Flair Berger Japanese Kana was like okay let' s give it a try and I am so so glad I did my niece and I split a couple of the hors d'oeuvres or appetizers we got the cheese curd type things and she got the fried pickles. We ordered the pork sandwich that they had and it was really good it was on a rice bun which again was something I had never had and it was different but in a good way I mean it was a good different I will definitely be going back there they have a Carbonara sauce that was just amazing and dipping the cheese curds in it made them even better you've got to give it a try it was a great experience all the way around and a man one of the owners has got to be one of the nicest people I've encountered he really cares about the restaurant and yeah it was a good experience More...

We first tried them right when the pandemic started so we got carry out. Yes, the burgers were messy by the time we got home but if you really think a burger is going to be as clean when you get home as when you picked it up, you're insane. Yes, the food took a bit to come out. The owner was extremely kind and gave us free fries and wings to compensate for our wait. My first time I got the Gabutto burger with egg, cheese and bacon. Delicious. We also had the teriyaki wings and the karakara wings. Big fans!The fries were good too. And we got to "create our own" with the spices. Second time we got the Gabutto with cheese and egg, the karakara wings and the white cheddar cheese curds. Once again, everything was FANTASTIC. This was our 2nd time eating at Gabito Burger. So far we have had: soft shelled crab burger, Japanese BBQ burger, Thai Chicken Teriyaki burger, and the Spamasobi burger. Some come on rice buns. Tried the Calamari appetizer ( fantastic). Fries come with an assortment of spice toppings to choose. Just ok. I think it's a great concept but..... the sandwich was just too goopy, slippery, & messy for my taste. & not messy in a good way like bbq ribs. Dinner here tonight w a friend.Prior to coming here, skimmed thru the good reviews on this one and really wanted to try it. Momma always told me if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. I visited a friend in Huntly and she happened to mention this burger japanese fusion place that is owned by someone we know. So i had to try it out because hearing burger japanese fusion automatically makes you wanna try it plus we are supporting a friend.So i ordered a lot and theres actually still more i want to try.We ordered the Shrimp Burger and the Gabutto Burger. Here is my friends discription of the Gabutto Burger. She said that the patty is a bit loose which makes it tastier when eating it and the juices comes out. Mouth watering Yum!!!I had the Shrimp Burger which was sooooo good. Its a patty of shrimp but you will see and bite into shrimp pieces. And i topped mine with spicy mayo ohhhh sooo good.We also had the Carbonara fried which is basically fries with the carbonara dip. It is worth it.Takoyaki balls and theres real octopus inside oh so yummy!Fried Calamari is not the rings but its actual tentacles dipped with spicy mayo ooohhhh!Ok i may be biased because i love spicy mayo. But what i love about this place even if you order a basket of fries which theu call Fritos they have baskets of seasonings and you can just season the fries yourself. The first time we tried this place the wings were really good (crispy) and my husband liked his burger. So when we went back a second time, about 2 weeks later, we were really disappointed and surprised at how different and NOT good the food was. The wings were chewy and not cooked well. I tried the Lobster Bisque and it was not good at all. Way overpriced. It was a tiny cup of gray liquid with a few chunks of shrimp( I think). It tasted terrible. I threw it out along with the fried calamari. It was whole fried tentacles with a bad texture and flavor. I have never seen fried calamari look like that and was actually a little nervous to try it. I would give this place a 2.5First time trying anything from here. Read the reviews because I wasn't sure what to order. Kept it safe and got an original Gabutto burger, teriyaki burger, garlic fries and Kara Kara wings. The burger was plain to me, besides the sauce they use on it was alright. And I don't mean the burger that was ordered plain without anything lol (that was my bf's burger lol) I will say though, the size of the burger is decent. The meat is pretty thick but the flavor wasn't hitting it for me to get it again for $8. Perhaps I will try their shrimp burger next time. That seemed to be recommended a lot too. I did not like the fries at all. They tasted like cardboard even with all that seasoning. Some fries I can eat alone, some fries I need sauce to make it taste better but there was no sauce I could dip this with that could save it. I do love my fries and it was heart breaking to have these go to waste. I wanted to try their wings so I asked the girl over the phone which one she recommended. I'm not a fan of curry so I got the Kara Kara. The flavor is a bit strange to me and the wings were a little too over cooked for me. They had a cup of sauce I think was for the chicken wings but it spilled all inside the to go bag unfortunately. My boyfriend and I went to their old location near Schaumburg so I was dismayed that they moved farther away from me! But I am happy to see that there is a larger space and more staff. (Although I do miss the cute anime characters everywhere! The interior looked more fun at the old location.) Same great food: interesting Japanese/American fusion. As someone who is trying to eat less meat, I love having vegetarian options too. We love the secret sauce on the burgers and the option to have different seasonings on the fries. Very Good! I was on my way from one point to another and saw that Gabuttos was open while sitting at the traffic light on Randal. .. When I got done with my errands I swung back and stopped in to give it a try. I am glad I did. As others have said, the place is brand new. They are also doing what they can to be open in a safe and convenient manner. I ordered the Gabutto Burger and Fried Pickles to go. I then struck up a conversation with one of the owners, Kenny. Great Guy. My order was packaged up to go. As inevitably happens, my phone rang when I got to my truck and I spent the next 20 mins on a call. By the time I got home, nearby, I figured the food would be cold. Nope. The burger was wrapped up and packaged in a box. It was still hot. It was absolutely delicious. The pickles were ok. I am munching on them as I type! ;) They have a very interesting Asian inspired menu. What a great option... They also serve beer! What more could you want? This is a brand new location and yes, I am sure they are challenged at times, like everyone else, to provide the safety and convenience people want. The food here is great! The shrimp burger is probably the best item on the menu.  The menu is expanded with a lot of variety. Some items are not available yet due to Covid. The space is brand new, and easy to get to on Randall Road. The only reason for 3 stars is the incredibly long wait. Went here on a Friday at 4:30 and waited over an hour for a Shrimp Burger, a Gabutto burger and a large fries. So, if you are not in a hurry,  try this gem. More...

My first visit I ordered the Crispy Tofu and the Takoyaki and it was decent at first, but it gave me food poisoning for a couple days. I knew because it was the first thing I ate that day, but couldn't stomach anything after it. For starters, the only reason I'm giving this place one star is because you can't give less than that. Everything was horrible! With all the COVID-19 health restrictions, employees were barely following the rules. Masks were worn on their chin (not covering their face- the two employees working the register), they came around the counter and stood next to people when they were ordering if they had questions (no six foot separation) because I think they were having a hard time hearing. One employee was drinking out of his thermos at the counter while working, another employee was touching money while wearing gloves, then helping out packing food with the same gloves on. It took 40 mins for an order of 2 burgers and fries to go...and top of everything, after waiting 40 mins for my burger, the order was WRONG!!! Argh!!! Poor service and they really, really need to work on the new sanitation requirements...think twice if you don't want to take chances getting sick!! More...

I had my first Gabutto burger at the Rolling Meadows location which is close to my office so, I was elated to see a location opening not too far from my home. I would watch for a sign it was open when I was nearby and when I saw your sign in Randall, I knew I needed to get an order in soon. My burger was delicious but the 20 minute drive home didn't help the fries. They were still good but will be so much better once I can eat them hot! Used to go to this place when it was in Arlington Heights/Rolling Meadows. I've missed it, and glad that it's back. Menu has expanded and was delicious. Glad they now serve booze, and can't wait to come back. They just opened and because of COVID their menu is a bit limited. This is one of my favorite restaurants. People might get confused and think this is just another burger joint, but this is Japanese food with a burger twist. I have eaten at each of their locations with my friends. We followed along as they have moved from Mitsuwa Marketplace food court, to their own stand alone In Arlington Heights, and now in Elgin. If you are a Japanese food lover, a vegetarian, or a seafood lover I highly recommend the takoyaki appitizer, shrimp burger, whole soft shell crab, and tofu burgers. Great quality and fresh. Been waiting for this place to open and it didn't disappoint! As with other restaurants, no dine in due to the pandemic so we ordered carry out. I ordered the crabby burger (whole soft shell crab inside!) and my husband ordered the shrimp burger. It was DELICIOUS! All the ingredients are fresh and excellent quality: whole soft shell crab was seasoned and fried to perfection, cabbage slaw was super fresh and a great compliment to the crab, and the bun was soft and didn't over dominate the crab. My kids didn't feel like burgers so they opted to order from somewhere else, but when my daughter decided to try and took a bite of my crabby burger, she liked it so much that she ended up devouring half of it. This place has prices higher than giraffe you know what! Thought I was getting a little crab meat, slaw and sauce between a bun. Well, it's a whole soft shell crab in the slaw and sauce. Not very appetizing, I'll say. That's not a Burger with a Japanese Twist as advertised, because there was no burger in it!  Not a morsel of beef anywhere. On top of all that, it cost $16.00 bucks, plus tax. Excuse me! I think the Butter Burger from Culvers, or a burger from Big Sammy's is where the better deal is. I know that this place just opened but I was really disappointed. A lot of their menu is "coming soon" which includes most of their unique products. The cashier hardly said anything to me and didn't explain the menu or offer me a description of the items. The quality was on par with McDonald's. I got the chicken teriyaki sandwich. The chicken cutlet was so thin and rubbery. The sauce was only in the bottom of the wrapper and so much of it. All their sandwiches come with soggy iceberg, tomato, and onion.
