our waitress was awesome. she was attentive and went the extra step to let us know, that when we ordered our shakes it would be a bit, they are hand dipped. And delicious. I had grilled salmon with rice and the salad bar. The garlic sauce was tasty, the rice was wild and tender. Generous salad bar. My dining partner had a hamburger with cheese curds. The pickels were crunchy and dill. Our experience was very good! I would recommend this restaurant. More...

WOW!What a place. The parking lot is lined up perfectly for driving into it slowly and parking. Really easy. And it immediately felt welcoming. When we walked towards the door, I could tell someone was nodding off in a booth near the window, with his head against a wall, mostly likely snoring. The Hostess did not make eye contact, which I thought was a nice way to not be intimidating. We were sat immediately. Took us only 2 or 3 or 5 minutes to get some water and coffee and the server was very nice. Smiled. Spoke in full sentences. It was an easy order. We went at 1am. Which we thought would be good breakfast because it's 8am somewhere.I got some eggs, some bacon, some sausage, some pancakes, some homefries, some coffee and some pie. As I write this the next morning, the meal still sits partially with me, some of it has already come out though. But what is left inside of me is making me feel incredibly heavy. I might not be able to eat breakfast. Which will be a nice way to save money AND calories!! When I got my meal, the cooks had forgotten my pancakes!! What pranksters! I enjoyed the local humor. I was able to use the bathroom 3 times during my visit, each time it was very clean in there. My friends enjoyed their meals. I think we are all friends. We work together and hang out. I haven't seen one of the people I was with in months so it was really great to see him. If I could add a 6th star for letting me hang out with my friends and drink hot coffee I would, but unfortunately would have to deduct due to being unable to add a 6th star. But that lands us at 5. So it actually works out! I'll miss my friend when I go back home. I'll miss them a lot. We have a lot of fun when we see each other! I might try to come back to this restaurant because I have other friends I still need to see and I did not get to try the french toast, the omelette, the eggs benedict, the burger, the patty melt (which might just be a burger on bread honestly) or really any of the non-breakfast.I can't wait to come back and see all of my friends, I will show them this restaurant!!!!On the way out, the man in the booth had not moved. We were there for almost 2 hours. The man might be dead. More...

Great service! Our waiter was kind and funny. You can tell he cares about his customers and his job. Lots of great food choices, from your typical burger to pasta, to salads. Prices were on the lower side and the food was way better than what the pictures show on the menu. 10/10 would recommend to anyone! More...

We came in after 9:00 PM. We were greeted and asked for table preference and seated immediately. I mentioned we were sharing a meal and they brought out our burger already cut and plated on two plates. The burger was great and fries were hot. Waitress helped me pick out dessert and the hot fudge cake was delicious. If end up back in South Dakota will come again. More...

I was looking for something open that might be more "regional" in menu items.  I could not find any mom & pops open and this place was bright in color with lots of tended flowers out front.  I was seated quickly.  They had a large salad bar lunch option but I asked the waitress if there were any ND regional dishes.  She recommended the knoephla soup so I ordered the soup & salad option.  Salad was fresh and the Norwegian soup was divine.  I'd never heard of it, thick with butter and milk, gnocchi, potatoes, cabbage.   They had pies in the case that also looked wonderful.  The restaurant itself was a step up from a Denny's or a Village Inn.  I enjoyed the lunch!  (clean bathrooms, quick check-out too) More...

My boyfriend and I absolutely LOVE Fryn Pan, we get off work at 2 or 3 am so it's our go to place. We've always had amazing service from Connie, she's on top of things, her service is amazing, and she always makes sure things are done right! The other night when we went in a younger guy and girl were serving and they were okay, but I felt like we didn't get the service that we usually do. Also my boyfriends biscuits were severely undercooked and things just didn't taste right. On top of that... we love the quiet atmosphere of the restaurant late at night but that night whoever was in the kitchen was playing very loud, provocative trap music. We're young, so of course we listen to the music but we don't necessarily appreciate hearing it when we go to grab a bite to eat late at night and the servers are yelling nasty, joking comments at each other. It definitely won't stop us from coming back of course, we absolutely love Fryn Pan and 9 out of 10 times have an awesome experience there! Just seems like when there's a bunch of teenagers/young adults working together things aren't right...Keep up the awesome work! More...

I can always count on the Fryn' Pan restaurants in Sioux Falls, SD for a good breakfast. They're reliable, consistent, and traditional in their habits, service, style and food. It's probably the closest thing you will get to a home cooked meal as your going to get in the city or when dining out. Known for its cinnamon rolls the size of your head, the Fryin' Pan never fails to disappoint the sweet roll lovers palate when it comes to sweet rolls. They are well worth the price...all be it reasonable whatever it is!  This is also a great place to go and sit by yourself or with friends or business associates to talk. The servers never mind customers staying to chat, or even stay to get some work done at the table or booth well after you've eaten. The low playing random alternative, pop and oldie music in the background is gentle and pleasant, yet not hypnotic in the sense that it doesn't put you to sleep as if riding in an elevator. Plus, you can still hear someone talking while it's playing. What a deal. This restaurant is fit for both very casual attire, yet you can come here in a formal gown and tux at 2 am if you so choose. Neither would look out of place, and both parties would be more than welcomed. Try it out. You'll be glad you did. Oh. Did I mention the severs?  Usually really great people. Salt of the earth, friendly, considerate & kind midwestern folks. More...

Oh Fry'n Pan, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways. You are so not anything fancy or special. You are like an IHOP, or a Village Inn, but with better people watching. You attract the most interesting folks, mostly those over the age of 70. You probably have to carry 6 copies of the local paper just so your patrons don't fight over them. You do however, have a really fantastic salad bar and some of the best ranch dressing I've ever had. Your croutons are the most salty, savory, most delicious little cubes of bread. And when I put them into the vegetable beef soup, I squeal with delight. You also have these weird little slices of toasted crouton like garlic bread that I can't get enough of. What am I supposed to do with them? I don't really know for sure, but I love them all the same. But most of all, I love your Crunchy Chicken Melt more than I can say. How you can make a simple combination of chicken strips and pepper jack cheese on buttery toast taste so amazing, I'll never understand. I've eaten that sandwich cold on the drive back home to Omaha and it's still just as magnificent.I think of you often, Fry'n Pan. And I wish I lived closer. xoxo, Laura. More...

Stopped in March 16, 2017 for dinner with my family. I normally always get salad bar. Well tonight I really want Mellon on the salad bar, however I couldn't eat what was on the salad bar as for someone accidentally dropped pineapple into the Mellon and I'm allergic to pineapple. So when our waitress came over to see if everything was okay. I said I have a favor to ask you, she said sure I said I really would like some of the Mellon you have on the salad bar but I can't eat it she looked puzzled, so I explained someone accidentally dropped pineapple into the Mellon and I'm allergic to it. She said not problem I'll bring you a small bowl will that be okay. I said yes that will be fine.I wasn't expecting the bowl to be heaping so that was an extra surprise that I appreciated. So my hat is off to her and I thank her very much for going above and beyond. The rest of our food was just as amazing. But by her taking the extra effort to do that for me made my day as well as watching them taking the Mellon contain that had the pineapple in it an replacing it with fresh and new stuff on the salad bar. So thank you to the staff at the Fryn Pan More...
