For all those über-planning brides-to be out there (and of course those that just want to leave the planing in the responsibility of the cake baker), I understand where you’re coming from as I’ve got one of those A-type personalities and I’m very hands on with any project…this review is for all of you and will hopefully ease your planning pains. Fleur de lis Unforgettable Cakes made our wedding so special from start to finish. Not only is the company same-sex friendly, but they made my husband and feel like a part of their own family. Liana and her team were epic in making the entire process stress-free and easy-going that I didn’t have to worry about the end result. My husband and I went to the tasting with our mom’s (after calling 2 weeks ahead with which flavors we’d like to try) were welcomed with some much warmth. Our tasting was not just tiny slivers of cake, but full slices that made choosing which flavors we wanted so much more easier. Each slice was so flavorful, it was extremely hard to make a decision. After we chose our flavors, I stayed in contact with Liana and we collaborated on the design of the cake. Liana was super attentive to our design options and made various suggestions based on the ideas that we were going for (which all made perfect sense in communicating the ideas that we were going for). We collaborated with Liana for several months and provided her a design sheet which laid out all our design ideas in a simple layout that was easy to understand (shape, color, other design aspects). A week before the wedding, we asked Liana for one final design meeting to go over the design sheet one more time and she was so receptive to the idea. That final meeting was super helpful that everyone was on the same page and further raised the excitement of the big day. When we saw the cake at our wedding, we were in tiers because it was more than what we could ever have wished for. Liana and her team made all our design wishes exactly how we envisioned them. My husband and I noticed so many people taking pictures of the cake at our wedding and even heard some people say “it’s a shame they have to cut into it, the cake is so pretty just to look at”. This is a man's story: My wife wanted to make our 10th anniversary cake up until 3 days before our anniversary party and she just couldn't pull it off. I told her not to worry, I would take care of it. I then called everywhere in the valley and only Fleur De Lis would make me a cake as fast as they can. So they made me a last minute 10th Anniversary cake for my wife with only 2 days notice when no one else in the valley would. They made it with only a verbal description over the phone(plus I called back 3 times to up the number, we started at 35 and ended at 60 an hour later) I was floored when i saw the cake. They did an incredible job. The cake looked exactly like a perfect wedding cake, I almost shed a tear. They incorporated candied flowers and colors we like when I didn't even tell them what they were! They are telepathic there. 2 more things. One, the taste: I don't really like most wedding cakes nor frosting, but the flavor was amazing. The frosting was whipcream and the chocolate cake and mousse were incredibly light and refreshing.
