My family and I visited Five West on Monday Dec. 2nd. What a beautiful restaurant! We loved how inviting the staff was. The menu has such variety and each item we ordered was cooked to perfection. Thank you Five West for so warmly welcoming us to the Rochester area. We came into town for the grand opening of Smoak, your Sister Restaurant which was also amazing. The chicken was delicious but don't get the almond cherry salad. There are very, very few almonds and Cherry's and mostly greens. Not worth the price.

A bit more noise than usual, but it was the eve of Thanksgiving, and there was music provided (very good duet). Overall, a very nice get away from the food prep at home.

This review is strictly for the Thanksgiving buffet. We LOVE Five West and frequent it. The buffet was just ok in our opinion. Not enough options for children, we knew what they were serving and opted to go anyways but it was a flop for the youngest. The ceasar salad was non-existent when we were there, the chicken was room temperature at best, and the candied carrots were some cubed carrots and peas combination(which was a disappointment). The salmon was fantastic along with the the turkey and as a bonus my favorite soup was being served. I am not sure we would opt for this again unless they change things up. As I stated above we love Five West and will continue to go there for regular meals but not sure we would try a buffet there again. More...

We liked Five West pretty well. The service was good and the food tasted pretty good too. The blueberry pancakes I got were a little disappointing because they were too sweet with only blueberries on top instead of in the pancakes themselves, and the sauce was only a little on the plate. Tonight I tried something different, and went with the 10-piece Butterfly Jumbo Shrimp dinner. Came with two sides (I chose fries and cole slaw), and it was great. It was great. However, sitting with family we haven't seen in ages, once the check was paid for we didn't see the server again. It was later in the evening and there were empty tables everywhere. We were a group of 6 with most drinking beers. It would have been nice had someone asked if we wanted more water or if we wanted to open again with some drinks. We ended up going over to a different place to have a few more drinks. Everything else was fantastic as always though.
