Evoke Studio

When I decided to get my first professional headshot taken, I decided to go with Jolanta, who I worked with before at a local magazine. She offered to take my photo, and I was consistently impressed by the photography she provided for the magazine, so I decided to schedule a shoot with her. Jolanta's studio is located on Main Street in Downtown Sarasota, conveniently right next to Inspirations Salon & Day Spa, where I received a quick haircut and styling session before walking down the hall to start the shoot.

I am FAR from a perfect model - I have a terrible time smiling for cameras and presenting myself, and generally prefer to avoid cameras altogether. However, Jolanta made things easy - she guided me through each step of the process, offering several helpful tips on how to relax and pose for the camera, and ensuring that every element of the studio was in the ideal condition for the shoot. Within an hour, we were looking through the camera roll and narrowing down which photo was the winner.

Just two hours after finishing the shoot and leaving, Jolanta sent me her first draft of the edited photo. I pored over it for a good ten minutes, scrutinizing it very closely for anything I wanted to change, but I ended up not finding anything I disliked. With a few simple changes, she took an already good photo and greatly enhanced the colors and lighting, while keeping my image natural looking, resulting in a truly professional quality photo that I am now proud to call my headshot.

Joya was very pleasant to work with. We had an initial meeting where she helped me select a few different outfits for the photo shoot. She knew what would translate through the camera well. Met Jola this week for some professional portraits. Wasn't looking forward to it. But I was pleasantly surprised! I truly enjoyed meeting her and spending the time at her studio. She's warm and friendly and immediately made me feel at ease. My team at work needed to get some professional pictures taken (Wealth management) and we always had bad luck with pictures! We were referred to Jola from another team in our office who used her services and our pictures turned out AMAZING. She took her time, made everyone feel comfortable, and truly did an amazing job not only with how our pictures turned out but including the entire picture taking session. I know for sure that we will use her from here on out for our professional pictures and on top of that, I'm going to use her for casual, fun family pictures of my family too because she does it all. I've had the pleasure working with Jola for multiple shoots and events - I think its been 4 for personal stuff only and each shoot has been a surprising pleasure. Jolanta always makes me look great, has me at ease quite quickly (I don't like being in front of a camera at all) and every time I am amazed at how great they turn out. Whether its in studio or outdoors, her work is easy to recommend. AND her price point is quite fair as well.
