What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
We believe that creating a great portrait starts with you! We aim to find out what makes you uniquely you and capturing it on film. This ensures that your portrait is not just beautiful and high quality, but also different!
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
The first step for any new project is getting to know you! When possibly, we like to schedule a free in person consultation before the shoot to learn a little bit about what makes you, you! Questions such as, 'How would your best friend describe you' or what 'What are your favourite hobbies?' are often a great jumping off point.
What do you love most about your job?
My favourite moment in any shoot is that moment when I turn around the camera and my client says, "Wow, is that me?!" It's our mission to make that moment happen on every shoot no matter how short!
What inspired you to start your own business?
My previous career involved videography, particularly executive interviews. I quickly realised that I particularly enjoyed conducting these interviews as it was my challenge to get notoriously closed off executives to open up so that the audience could feel connected to them and by extension the message they were trying to deliver. My photography (just a hobby back then) took this challenge one step further by forcing me to find a way to create connections in the span of a single still frame . The more I worked at this, the more I fell in love, and from that Edgy Zebra Photography was born.
