I was searching for somewhere to get my eyelashes done ahead of my wedding in October, and found Shelby at Ederra and am so happy that I did. I've never done anything to my lashes (other than a few MAC falsies), and I was really nervous and honestly, skeptical. Ederra is a beautiful, quiet little boutique in Wallingford, and Shelby really put me at ease right off the bat. It can be a little disorienting, needing to keep your eyes closed for 45 or so minutes, so prepare yourself for that..I got the lash lift and tint done and was thrilled with the results. I got questions for the next three weeks about if those were my real lashes or not. I highly recommend Ederra and especially Shelby (though I haven't worked with anyone else there yet). I have been going here for years, I’m super confused about the 2 negative reviews—I honestly cannot imagine a customer being dissatisfied here. Shelby is an artist. She is obsessed with details and has many, many tricks up her sleeve. She can do any style you ask for and she will not let you leave unhappy. She is an amazing communicator and insists on fixing any problems, no matter whose fault they are. The only way to not be satisfied here is to fail to communicate your preferences or concerns. Shelby is hands down best lash technician in Seattle. I've been getting lashes for 7 years and always go back to her. She makes sure your natural lashes aren't damaged and the look is always natural and complements the eye shape. This is waaaay long overdue but I saw Allie for my lashes and it was first time I didn't open my eyes and think in dismay, "Oh so we're going for the drag queen look" (not that that's a bad look but not my intention). I love Shelby (and her lovely companion dog who's always greeting me at the door every time I visit!) I have been going to Shelby for my lash extension need for almost 2 years now. I first went to her at Pink's, but when she moved to her own boutique, of course I followed.Each time the work is just perfect! She's fast and gentle. Her work is amazing with high precision, and the lashes last longer than other places. Her place is clean and spacious. She's genuine and also she can tell if you're the quiet type (like me) then she won't bombard you with small talk, which I greatly appreciate. I enjoy each session and find it relaxing - one time I fell asleep for a little bit!Plus, the online booking appointment is great, so much easier than making appointment in person.. but be aware that her schedule gets booked up pretty quickly, so when you find a good slot, make sure to book that date pronto. Also, I'm the type who get lash extension every now and then when I'm going for a vacation only, not on biweekly basis. And at the end of each session, I've never been pressured to book my next appointment by her. She only kindly reminds that if I want to get a "refill" then I should come back within 2-3 weeks. I always get compliments on the amazing lashes and people keep asking me where I go for them. The lashes look so freaking natural in thickness and length and shape. They're just perfect. I just love her and I've recommended Shelby to all of my friends, family and co-workers. I don't want to go see other people for my lash extension, been to others when she had no availability before, honestly nobody is as good ss Shelby.If there's only one thing I only wish she would add more appointments on Saturdays or late evening appointments (after work hours) on weekdays as it's getting harder for me to take off work on a workday to get to the appointment.Tip: you can't get your eyelash wet for the first 24 hours, wear swimming goggles in the shower. I've been going to Shelby for over 2 years now and I'm still a total fangirl. I suck for not reviewing her sooner.But get this: I LIVE in downtown Seattle but I followed her out of Pink's (Queen Anne) to Ederra (Fremont) because she's just that good. Yes, I've had other a couple other people do lashes before I met her but my extensions (1) never stayed on as long and (2) always twisted around, causing lots of pain. Not with Shelby.She's so accommodating, real, and detailed. She's become both my friend and lifetime lash guru, and I've vowed to never cheat on her with anyone because I know I'll regret it and come crawling back in total shame with my hag lashes.P.S. I LOVE MY LASHES! Shelby is a true lash artist and always works with me to accommodate my ever changing schedule. Not only does Shelby do an amazing job on my extensions, but she also helps me take care of my natural lashes and ensure that they stay healthy. I have had my lashes done by several different lash artists and I can say, without a doubt, that Shelby is the absolute best. In addition, I have also seen Shelby for spray tanning and sugaring. My tan is always even and well matched with my skin tone (none of the orange/dirty color you get from less skilled airbrush artists). Waxing has always been too painful for me, so I tried sugaring instead. I think not.Shelby at Ederra Lashes isn't just a well rounded, experienced professional...she's a BEAUTY THERAPIST. Anxiety ridden at my first appointment, I shot question after question at her (like in-laws at your Christmas party), even before my session began. She was genuine, honest and patient with my paranoia driven mind. A year later, I still have my beautiful investment. I say investment because her service saves me the most precious thing I have...my time. With her eye lash extensions, I wake up beautified and ready to go everyday. I'm out the door 15 minutes after waking up with no worry about makeup. It even saves me the "are you ready yet?!" fight with my boyfriend. Shelby is lovely! I have seen her a few times now for brows and she does a great job. (BTW, if you are unfamiliar with sugaring, I suggest you try it. It is so much better than wax, and way less painful.) Anyway, I am usually a little frazzled, just coming in after work, or during a break, but her space is calm and she is calming. Also, she has a cute little pup that hangs out sometimes. ;-)Booking is the best - you just find time online based on the services you need, put a card number down for guarantee, and then you pay with whatever method once you're done. I went back to Ederra today for some me-time with Shelby.  She is a delight to work with.  HOLY SMOKES she makes my eye-lashes lovely.  It has been great to see her business be so successful, because her work is amazing.  My life has been ridiculously stressful lately, and I look tired. But when she is done with my lashes and brows it opens up my face and makes me look like i have actually slept in the past week.  (which I haven't).    I cannot recommend Ederra highly enough.  The shop is cute, bedecked in holiday finery - and Shelby, though busy, never makes me feel rushed.  In fact, I feel so relaxed in her capable hands I am a little worried I may snore while she's doing my lashes.  :)   Plus - Fremont.  It's a win!Awesome.
