Our curved barn door made from hundred year old reclaimed wood turned out beautiful! Drew, the owner of Eden Down Home, did such an amazing job!

I've always struggled with our basement stairs and how to keep our kiddos safe because the doorway is curved so we have been using an ugly baby gate for years. After seeing a post where Drew had made another curved door I contacted him immediately.

From start to finish my door only took a handful of weeks and Drew kept in constant contact. All that is left to do is to add the hardware to the inset door/window. It's amazing! It slides smoothly (we will be adding a safety lock to prevent little ones from being able to move it), let's light in, and is just an awesome conversation piece. We could not be more pleased! You have a choice of what you want from the nice stock of aged barn wood. We have installed the wall cover and a barn door for our pantry. If you have seen virtually any show on HGTV, then you have seen some awesome repurposed wood applications. I saw some reclaimed barn wood walls and barn doors and really loved the look. In researching the process, I discovered there was way more involved than just nailing the wood down. Installing a barn wood wall is as much a DIY job as elective surgery is, but I digress. I asked around for recommendations and was told to call Drew Peters at Eden Down Home for installation. I was told Drew had been installing reclaimed accent walls, custom barn wood doors, and other amazing pieces and doing top notch work. I called Drew up and we scheduled an appointment. Drew showed up right on time and was super helpful. I really like professionals like Drew, who eat, breathe, and sleep their trade. Drew knows everything there is to know- and is a genuinely great guy- who wants to help you achieve your design goals.  Drew helped come up with a great plan to install a reclaimed accent wall, using gray and old red barn wood, rescued from a 100 year old Michigan barn.  Drew also suggested that I have my TV mounted in the wall so I can maximize the look. I loved the idea but must have had the "I wonder how hard that will be look" on my face. Drew told me if I get the mount- he will install the tv- which I was super excited about. To secure my install appointment, I paid a deposit of half the total amount. Because the demand is so high, Drew schedules out at about 8 weeks from the date you have your consultation.  Today was install day, and Drew & Co. arrived ten minutes early (If you've had much done at your house- you know how rare that is!) and began setup. Drew confirmed measurements and briefly educated me on the process, and got right to work.  Drew & Co. installed the wall, making custom cuts and putting a ton of thought into variations of pattern, alternating wide planks with narrow- and making sure to spread around the color combos. It was like having a custom suit made from the finest tailor in Italy. Think of Eden Down Home as the Nordstrom's of reclaimed walls!  The finished product was stunning. I showed my friends the photos and they couldn't believe the difference it made. I LOVE the look so much! It's so cool to have a beautiful 100 year old accent wall. Drew and his team made this an easy process, and I feel like Christmas came early- minus the gross fruitcake. So- if you're thinking about a barn wood accent wall, or custom barn wood door- look no further. Drew and his company are top notch professionals who are true artisans with their work.
