Dr. Winder is really great. I appreciate the style he uses of helping us understand how "effective thinking patterns" are what makes everything work. Was able to understand behaviors better and get excellent results in figuring out and working towards my goals. A+++ More...

Dr. Winder is a real expert in anything related to divorce. Mediation, coaching, counseling - he's a top-notch & trusted resource. It's really great that he offers the option of receiving services by videoconference, to accommodate people not near his office. Highly recommend him. More...

I had the pleasure of working in a facility where Dr. Winder practiced and I observed how his patients looked forward to talking to him on a weekly basis. Dr. Winder is compassionate, caring, honest, genuine, and is empathic. Anyone who needs mental therapy would benefit from his expertise. As a case manager for one of the largest assisted living communities I highly recommend Dr. Winder as an expert in his field of practice. - Carol Edwards More...

Very professional when dealing with him. My advice is to be as honest as you can with him, if you are, it will help. I would highly recommend him.

I am a current patient of Dr. Winder and he is tremendously helpful. Most therapists will keep you there forever and you don't make progress. Dr. Winder will actually terminate your services if he feels you're not putting in enough effort. If you don't care about your own mental heal and well-being, you're wasting your time and he'll call you out on it (in a nice way of course!!!) couldn't recommend him higher. More...

I have sent numerous patients to Dr.Winder over the past few years. Although each situation was completely different, he managed to figure out the issues and get each of them started on the right path.

Dr. Winder takes tremendous pride in his work, which is one of the reasons he is so successful. I highly recommend using him.

Q&As

The challenges of helping each person find his/her best path forward. Also I need to get out of my house because otherwise my dog demands to be fed all day.

I wanted to save the world. Also pay rent and have food to eat. Which is not necessarily a reason to pick me as your therapist, but is an answer to this question.

cuz I da BESTEST.
really, my testimonials say it all (google, Facebook, or healthgrades search me) - I work with each client on a solution-oriented focus to the problem causing distress.
and I help couples separate/divorce without fighting (too much!)

Services

All stages of relationships - premarital, marriage, and post-marriage counseling. Also very solution-oriented and cognitively focused - I work on helping you find the areas that are causing trouble, and repair them to whatever level you're able and motivated to.

People come see a psychotherapist for many reasons. The common denominator is that everyone who comes in is having emotional pain of some type or is being less than optimally effective in some areas of life. My therapeutic focus is on helping you find the solution . That's why my approach is called
"solution oriented" therapy. Primarily, I help you identify the thinking patterns and behaviors that are holding you back from reaching your goals or that are causing you emotional pain , and we practice exercises to slowly help you adjust those to more healthy replacements.

When a couple decides to separate, it's very confusing. There are so many questions, so many possible ways of handling every aspect and details of the situation , and of course the advice you get from well-meaning individuals in your life may be anything but helpful.

My role as a mediator is to guide you as a couple through the separation and divorce process in an unbiased, collaborative way that helps you navigate the complicated road with a minimal of fighting, and hopefully coming out the other end as positive co-parents if there are children, or not having gone through a traumatic experience, even if there are not.

And of course, having saved a tremendous amounts of money that you would have otherwise spent on lawyers and other ridiculous and unnecessary costs.
