Never again.no stars for me rude and not pet friendly. Many reviews give great reviews saying they have been going for years . this place has only been there a short time and its awful stay away. Not to even mention that they didn't want my fogs medical records for shots and I was there when he refused Groupon that people planed on using More...

We have kenneled our dogs with them for years. We also take our dogs for grooming I was reading some of the reviews & was almost shocked because I have never had a bad experience with the owner he always accommodates us watches our dogs for weeks, or even just for a couple days. I have two aggressive breed dogs & he takes them for me no problem at all they listen to him while they are there & come home well behaved every time. The owner is very trustworthy I never have to worry about my dogs when they are with him More...

My dog was never a favorite at any other dog grooming places because he over sensitive but they have the patience for him - Thank you TEAM Doggie Styles you are the best and he always looks great! They did an awesome job grooming my older dog and also were able to cut the nails on my 1 1/2 year old terrible Terrier that no one else has ever been able to cut. Every other place I've been to to get her nails cut have always refunded my money and said nope they couldn't do it after clipping 1 nail. She's a fighter but he made it look easy. I will definitely bring all three of my dogs here when they need to be groomed again. More...

I have known the owner, John for over 30 years. He is truly a professional and I call him a true "dog whisperer" because he has a way with animals unlike I have ever seen. John and his entire staff at Doggie Styles give each and every pet that comes through the door, all the love and care that they would get at home even though that pet is about to get a bath, haircut and or grooming. All of the dogs leave Doggie Styles with a bandana tied around their necks, very cute, and also smelling clean as a whistle. John only uses hypoallergenic, all natural bathing products so as not to harm a pet who may have sensitive skin, and I think this right here shows how much John and his staff care about what they are providing for a service to the hundreds of Doggie Styles customers who return monthly to have their pet bathed and groomed, with many pet owners, including myself, believing their beloved pet is a member of the family and deserves to be treated just like a son or daughter. John also breeds boxers, French bulldogs and is the sole breeder of the hairless cat, the Minskins. John also operates a boxer rescue for those in need of finding their boxer a good home or who may need to be rescued from a bad living situation. I can say without any doubt, that John, who has been in business for over 30 years, is a true professional, is truly a man that possess a keen sense of being able to communicate with a dog or cat in a way the animal listens and for reasons even the animal may not know which is why I call John the "dog whisperer". If your looking for a boxer or french bulldog puppy, or a hairless kitten, look no further than John at Doggie Styles. You will also not find a better place to bring your beloved pet for pampering at the salon/spa where John and his staff cater to and pamper each and every pet that comes in, as though they were a prince or princess. Give them a try, you will be glad you did. More...

I purchased a Female Boxer we named Sadie from John almost 10 years ago. I had done a ton of research and visited with a lot of breeders throughout all of New England. I found John and I was very impressed. He was very knowledgeable about the breed and he cared where the puppies ended up. Upon purchase of the dog we had to sign a contract that we would not surrender the dog to anyone except for him. His dogs were in great shape and very well taken care of as were the litter of puppies. One of John s boxers, Sadie s grandmother, had lived to the ripe age of 16 which far exceeds the average life span of a boxer. . From day one she has been an excellent dog. She has never had any medical problems and her temperament and statute is perfect. I have had so many complements on her. She is on the lower end of the AKC Standards for weight, weighing just over 50 lbs. but she is in great shape! Our vet comments about how good she is and how healthy she is especially at almost 10 years old. Her mask has grayed quite a bit but her muscle definition, shape and stance is beautiful. We now have a 1 year old boxer as well that we rescued and Sadie can keep up with her high energy running and playing, usually not for as long but that is to be expected. I have highly recommended John many times and I will continue to do so. My experience was wonderful and I wouldn t think twice about getting another Boxer from John.
In response to Chanchal J., I am sorry to hear that your puppy was sick but there is always a risk of illness no matter how good the breed or blood lines are. However, Giardia is not something that your dog was born with and most likely picked it up after you took her home and out to play. Dogs become infected with the single celled parasite when they swallow it by drinking water or other substances that have been soiled with feces. As to your accusations of over breeding, I am not sure where you got your information from but behavioral issues and aggression are DEFINETALLY not signs of over breeding they are signs if improper or lack of training most likely due to the dog feeling like he or she is the Alpha dog. I am very curious to know what research you have to prove that your dog is not what you thought because as far as I know the only sure fire way to tell the exact breed or breeds of a dog is through DNA testing. If you had done any research on any of these things you would know this and you could stop blaming John for your own ignorance. I highly recommend you do some research on both breeds of dog that your Shorkie comes from and I also recommend a book called the Dog Listener by Jan Fennel. This will help you understand how a dog thinks and acts in regards to pack order. Yes you and your family are your dogs pack.

In all honesty, I booked an appt for my 5 year old male cat (matted on backside), read some reviews and cancelled my appt. John called back to see if I wanted to reschedule, I told him I would call and that was the end. I thought for a bit and called John back. I told him I wanted to be honest and that I had cancelled my appt after reading some of the reviews. We spoke for a while and he explained his work ethic, love for animals and offered references. He did not dwell on the negative but instead stood by his reputation and committed to handling my Oliver personally. I decided to give him a chance... also warning I would make him my hood ornament should anything happen to Oliver. I'm sure he's used to dealing with over protective pet owners but I was double concerned because this was Oliver's first visit. I dropped off a very...ummm cranky kitty to say the least. I called a little later to check and Oliver was hanging tough. :-) John told me he wasn't the crankiest cat he has dealt with.So I pick him up, he's a little damp. Oliver wasn't to fond of the blower so in an attempt to decrease the stress level, he was towel dried. I was very comfortable and appreciated his concern for my stressed out ball of fur. We chatted, John gave my some dietary suggestions.. I met some of little friends for adoption. I really am glad I called John back and discussed my concerns. I was most impressed that there was no bald spot. Seriously I had tried and John worked magic. I have a handsome kitty... smelling good & strutting his stuff.I would highly recommend that as a potential customer, that you read all the reviews and don't make a snap judgement. Call John, ask questions....ask for me because I will definitely be a reference. More...

My Yorkshire Terrier, Princess has been going to John since she has been 6 months old,,The first time I seen John he was so passionate about princess, you would of thought that Princess was his dog. John has such a good relationship with Princess, When I say to Princess where's Uncle John or lets go see uncle John she runs to the door to go to him....When we get at the Salon she jumps out of the car and runs up to the door to see her Uncle John....I just love it...John has made my Princess look so beautiful... I have been where he baths the animals and it is so CLEAN and when there is several animals together they all seem to do very well together...John has also began taking care of my pomerian and she is afraid of her own shadow,, with John she does excellent and now she even runs to the door to see her Uncle John..The thing I like about John if there is ever anything with the animals (Princess has skin tabs) John calls right away and has you come in and see it right away and tells you what can be done and helps you....Doggie Styles takes pride in their work and you can tell by the animals that they take care of. This is in responce to Taryn and Jeff Devine I agree with taryn. I am the owner of doggie styles pet spa and I was the only one to groom her dog! I was beside myself when taryn presented me photos of her dog and I felt horrable! This poor dog! I have gone through great lenghts to contact my insurance company and get taryn's vet bills paid for her! ALTHOUGH taryn came to me and stated numerous times that she did not think anything was done maliciously ...I still felt awful! In fact I was in tears when I saw her! What happend to her dog? After a lenghty investagation by my insurance companys medical investagation team as well as information collected from taryns own 2 vets... the claim was denied because it was deemed NOT my fault her dog had an ALLERGETIC REACTION! When I asked my insurance company how to proceed with this issue they simply stated they would pay for my legle representation should the Devines persue it further!! Unfortunatly sometimes these things happen and life presents itself with situations that are beyond our controle ..ie allergy's! I go through great lenghts and expence to ensure that all of my grooming products are holistic and hypoallergetic! There is allways a very slim chance that an animal May have a reaction to one of the products... I can not allergy test every animal that walks through my door! I can only do my best to keep updated with the industrys products and purchess only the BEST HOLISTIC products for my clients! NOW as far as the so called gash (as taryn puts it) on said dogs chest...it was called a hot spot which is a skin unceration! It was explained to Taryn by me and her vet that this has nothing to do with the grooming! We NEVER EVER drug any dogs to grooom them! In fact I am very reluctant to groom any dogs that have been sedated by a vet.ABsolutly nothing was sprayed in her dogs face as taryn states... that is her own assumption or explanation of why his face was wet! She didnt realize he was having a reaction and was salvating! Taryn convayed mis information to her own vet which is why her dog ended up in Ocean state! Taryn's accusations are compleatly unfounded and false. Seems she is just looking to point the finger and have someone else pay her vet bills!! Taryn and jeff have been on again off agin type of clients! They have left me on a few differant occasions because they felt I took too long to groom their 2 dogs ...who I might add are both very ill mannered biting growling peeing opooping nervoius recks! It is cleart now after this ordeal WHY these dogs act the way they do! They are a direct reflection of their ownes! Unfortunatly dogs can not choose their owners,However as a business owner I reserve the right to pick and choose whom I pefer to service as clients, Jeff and Taryn Devine do not make the cut and will not be serviced at any of my salons again! ANYMORE slander/ false accusations by either Taryn or Jeff will result in a slander suit by me! I have been in this business for almost 30 years and will protect my impecable reputation with verosity!! More...

John F. at Doggie Styles has taken excellent care of my Great Dane during her daycare visits. I sought him for training when she was just 6 months old and raising heck! She is now an enormous sweetheart and at 5 years old, still goes crazy in love when she sees John. John's training is the reason why she is such a well-behaved kiddo. I'd bring any canine of any breed to him.
John is very professional and has a giant heart of gold.
