Greg was absolutely amazing to work with from our initial reach out, all the way through our big day. We had such a pleasant initial experience with him that we referred him to my sister in law, who also utilized him for her wedding in May. Following her big day, I knew we made the right decision. We had a very enjoyable experience working with DJs for You for our wedding reception! They came recommended to us from a friend and we are so thankful. Dennis Burda met with us eight months prior to the day to walk us through the general approach and song library. We appreciated his hospitality and flexibility, and signed the contract just a few days after meeting. Once the song list was prepared, Dennis helped us to refine the list to work within our timeframe and offered insight on ways to sequence the event. Greg Hoover is the best DJ you could ever have for your wedding day, period! You don't get a second chance at a wedding to set the mood, so you want to get it right the first time. Greg is it. The DJ doesn't just set the music for the night, they are the host of the party, and have the largest impact of anyone on how much fun your guests have!

My wife & I met Greg years ago at a friend's wedding, and knew right away that he needed to be the one we worked with for ours. We had tons of questions up front, during planning, and even the day of. The best part of our questions was, Greg had an answer to everyone of them, day or night! His planning tools & organization made the song selection process so much easier than we ever thought it could be, and when we weren't sure of the songs to pick for certain parts of the ceremony/reception, we'd look to the suggestions page that had tips, tricks, and answers. If we still wanted his input, he couldn't be easier to get a hold of. Calls/texts/emails/in-person meetings, whatever it takes, Greg goes out of his way to make sure you are taken care of. Still can't pick the right song after that, tell him it's dealers choice, and you can rest assured he'll make it beautiful. How many other people can you have that type of confidence with? That peace of mind is priceless!

When you are planning for the happiest day of your life, you already have so much to cover, and don't need any extra frustration to worry you, or your spouse. Cue in Greg. You just won't find someone that has the personality he does, nor the ability to sense what a crowded room is feeling. Worried that your guests in the back won't hear the music?.. he's got that covered. Want a light show that only a rock band could rival?.. He's got that too. I have never seen a DJ who was as into his job as Greg. He was excited and happy and definitely kept the party going the entire night. He made it a point to honor my grandparents who have been married for 62 years, without us even having to ask. Greg answered any and all questions we had. We let him know who activities we were doing during the reception and he planned it all out so we didn’t have to worry about keeping track of time. He gave great advice music wise and personally. I don't even know where to begin... Greg was just simply the BEST! Not only his amazing DJ skills & upbeat attitude! However, he was just a pleasure to work with.

My husband & I got married in October 2018. Before the ceremony I was stressed out & freezing. Greg sat down talked to me calmed me down & gave me the jacket off his back to warm me up!

At the very beginning of the reception he got the party with the Shoe Game! I highly recommend this fun little game! Oddly enough, it's the one thing my guests still talk about to this day! The one thing they just loved about my wedding!

Shortly, after dinner around 8:00pm we got the most terrible news... Our beloved Grandmother had passed away. It thought I was going to pass out. I took some time to gather myself & I immediately told all of my vendors what happened to keep them in the loop. I can't thank Greg enough how he handle the situation... First things first, I told him over the DJ booth & he immediately came around to give me a great big hug. Then after everyone had officially gathered themselves after quite some time. Greg came to me & said let's restart this party & let's honor your grandmother. Which is exactly what I wanted to do... We spent the rest of the night celebrating not only our wedding, but the life of our beautiful grandmother who lost her battle to Brain Cancer.

Greg was amazing at our wedding (July 20 2018). He was extremely active in making sure our day was perfect (asking about pushing ceremony time back a few minutes to adjust for weather conditions and late guests, checking in on timeline during reception, etc). His excel spreadsheet and the ability for couples to pick as many/as few songs during ceremony and reception as we liked was amazing as my now husband and I only cared about 4 songs. We worked with Dennis at DJs for You for our wedding in March and couldn't be happier with the work that he did - especially beyond the audio. Dennis was extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of wedding logistics and put a lot of effort into keeping in touch with us and keeping us on track throughout the planning process. His experience helped us immensely in planning and decision making. Can't stress enough how helpful and accommodating he and DJ Greg were, especially considering we had quite a lot of custom music requests (some of those names weren't the easiest, either!). At the reception, we were really happy with the way they managed the playlist to get the guests up and dancing, and received similar feedback from guests, who had a really good time as well. I found DJs for You on the Knot and I'm so glad I did! From the moment we first talked to Benny via FaceTime, there was no looking back! We trusted him instantly. He was the BEST and so flexible. He made everything so easy and he just understood what we were looking for. We just wanted people on the dance floor and didn't care as much about our "must play" and "do not play" lists. I decided to contact them to request more information, and within 10 minutes I got an email back from the owner. He was professional and passionate about what he does. We met with the owner to go over our different options, then once we decided to book with him, we had a great meeting with Greg, the DJ for our wedding. Greg is such a cool, fun guy and instantly makes you excited for your wedding reception. He sends you an easy to use spreadsheet to write all your music requests on. He also allows you to give as little or as much music requests as you want. DJ Greg Hoover was awesome! We are so glad we decided to book him. He was so friendly at our meeting and really seemed to understand what we were looking for and had some great ideas. He was very responsive and great to work with leading up to our wedding. We met him once in person, talked mostly through email, and then spoke on the phone a few days before our wedding to finalize names and everything. We really didn't have to give him too much direction as far as music. We gave him genres we wanted to hear, had a few on the "Do not play list," and a couple must plays. We had our wedding on October 9th, 2015 and had Dennis as our DJ for our special day. We were blown away by DJ's For You!! We had Dennis for our ceremony and reception (different venues) and he didn't miss a step - coordination of moving all of the equipment from one place to another has to be difficult. The planning process was simple and easy. Dennis walked us through everything, we were given login info and a web address to completely plan our wedding day details, down to every five minutes! Talking with him on the phone, it was very easy to see that Dennis knew his field like the back of his hand. The smallest of details were talked about, expanded upon and solidified with ease. Everyone who attended our wedding was very impressed with the music selection, Dennis definitely knew how to plan the songs we wanted to hear. Dance music when he needed to get everybody up and moving, slow songs to capture couples on the floor, the flow was seamless. Our venue even told us the next day that they were so impressed, they asked for his contact info! DJ's For You made our day perfect! Dennis was more than accommodating to every want, need and last minute changes we had (of which there were a few!). We had the owner, Dennis, DJ at our wedding and I am so happy with everything! Dennis met with us prior to signing a contract and went over every detail. The service comes with a very detailed planning tool that helps paint him a picture of what you want your day to be like. A few days before the wedding, we went over specifics and made sure everything was perfect. He definitely kept the party going and there was never a moment where the dance floor was empty! He also provided the uplighting for the room and our initials on a light on the dance floor. I wouldn't go with anyone else!!!!! The best thing about this company is that the package I chose had no end time, as most DJ companies do. DJs for you was an awesome company from the start! I met Dennis at a bridal show and he had me sold! I needed a bilingual DJ so he suggested DJ Benny. From the beginning Benny was great. He met with us at a coffee shop close to our home to go over any questions, concerns and music he could offer. We appreciated the time he took out of his day to come meet us. Dennis was so flexible and helpful! Great Dj's!We got Greg for our wedding, and he was awesome & made my life easier!! First we met him at the bridal show, and we instantly got along. He was relaxed and very professional. About a month later we decided to hire a DJ after all, and after getting some price quotes from a few different places, I still went back to Greg & the great impression he gave both me and my husband. Super smooth experience. We met up to get coffee, we disused the when's & where's. Intro's/Announcements (name pronunciations), and the toast to be made... The play list...  the DO NOT play list (in case we didn't care for anything in particular) He even was willing to be my buffer if the drunk crowd requested something out of line. (Which wasn't a problem, but the fact that he as a professional was willing to take that heat for us, so we wouldn't have to deal with the petty stuff on our wedding day showed how much he cared about our experience.) I had only one child at my wedding, my 6 year old nephew that was my ring bearer. Loving all the buttons and lights at his DJ station he wanted to hang out with Greg all night, and Greg even let him wear his head phones and play with the stuff he wouldn't hurt. Greg Hoover was the BEST! I had seen him DJ at my brother and sister in law's wedding a few years ago, and when I got engaged I immediately knew I wanted him as my DJ! Not only is he personable, friendly, flexible, and professional, but he is a great DJ and goes ABOVE & BEYOND! He was VERY easy to work with and kept the dance floor going all night long! I had guests say they had not been to a wedding where everyone was dancing as much as at mine. I had a REALLY tight schedule (trying to get a the first dance, father/daughter dance, mother/son dance, garter/bouquet toss, etc.) in the first hour before my videographer and photographer left and Greg kept us on track (without making it feel rushed) and was able to get it all in on time! He made the room look amazing with uplighting and having our name and wedding date up in lights - it looked GREAT! Dennis and DJs For You did an amazing job for our wedding day.  It was through reading reviews that we discovered and ultimately chose DJs For You, so it is only fitting that we leave a review to sway you as well.  From day one Dennis walked us through the entire process.  There was no pressure to sign any contract with him or hounding phone calls that you will get with a majority of the other DJ companies out there.  Dennis found a time that worked for us later in the evening for our initial meeting.  He asked us what we were looking for and what kind of equipment we would need.  He was able to easily accommodate all of our requests regarding equipment for our ceremony and reception.  He even supplies up-lighting and customizes your name in lights on the dance floor, both made our reception hall feel even more special.  His online planning tools are also easy to use and made choosing our songs for introductions, special dances, cake cutting, etc. a lot less stressful than we had anticipated.  You can choose as many songs as you would like to have played for dancing (we decided to leave this part mostly up to Dennis though) and there is even an option for a 'do not play' list which we also appreciated.  Dennis kept the dance floor busy from the minute it opened until the last dance of the evening.  Family and friends are still telling us about how much they enjoyed the reception (thanks to Dennis).  He clearly knows how to read the crowd and keep people interested.  I have been to many weddings where the music is good but not "danceable," that was definitely not the case for our big day.  Dennis and his staff will be prompt, courteous, and professional for your event and you will not be disappointed.  Thank you Dennis! Dennis was fantastic for our recent wedding in Oak Park.  We had gotten a late start at planning and were on a budget, so that made finding a DJ for our event a little bit of a challenge.  We had met a few DJs at different wedding shows, and were floored when each one quoted us double what Dennis quoted.  We were having a smaller wedding in a small room, and I didn't want something that would overpower the room, but I wanted the music to tell our story and to be special.  Dennis achieved this and more for our wedding.  He met us at his home prior to us signing the contract, explained how his services would work and made everything crystal clear.  He also gave us some great advice on other wedding-related things that we hadn't considered.  Dennis provided a very clear contract and explained how their DJ software worked where we would set up the songs we wanted, didn't want and everything in between.  My fiance and I had a great time picking out the soundtrack to our wedding using the software.  It got the job done, but the only suggestion I have would be that it could be easier to move back and forth to the different screens.  The day of our wedding was perfect.  I know the songs that were played were mostly on us, but everyone commented on how great of a music selection we had chosen.  We had really taken the time to think it out and I think it led to more people dancing and enjoying themselves at the reception.  He was great with timing, entertaining and personable. Fantastic experience! The piece that completed the wedding puzzle! posted 12/4/2013
While searching through the hundreds of Djs on various wedding websites, I came across Djs for you. I was immediately impressed with the wedding event tools on their website as well as price packages. We were looking for something simple without all of the bells and whistles of a night club. The "no frills" package was perfect for our needs. We wanted something in between the nightclub feel and no lights at all. I spoke with Dennis, the owner, he suggested some additional back lighting for mood. The ambiance was perfect. Dennis was so helpful with suggesting ideas and explaining the planning tools. Dennis visited our venue (Carriage Greens Country Club) with the specific dj (Benny) that was facilitating our wedding. Dennis and Benny discussed the events of the day as well as the set up of the ceremony and reception. They both brought creative ideas to the table. I really appreciated all of their expertise and direction. It was refreshing to not worry about the details and let them be the experts.
My wedding day arrived and was perfect. Benny and his assistant Dan made the day run smoothly. Every detail was in place as expected and the room looked beautiful with the back lighting. Benny and Dan did the music for both the ceremony and reception. Many guests complimented the "awesome party music" choices. The music pleased all ages from my friends in their 20s to the oldest guest my Grandpa at 92. Benny and Dan were also able to play some songs from my other deceased Grandpas polka band. It was an absolute hit and really nice surprise for the guests. I could not have dreamed of better service and atmosphere provided by Benny and Dan at the wedding and also Dennis for the planning. I really appreciate how hard they all worked to make our day so special and perfect.

Dennis is a great choice for a wedding DJ! Leading up to the wedding day, every time I had a question, Dennis was very quick to respond and help!

Our ceremony and reception were at the same place with the ceremony being outdoors. I had spoke with 2 other DJs and they were not able to accommodate music for both indoors and out. Dennis was able to make it work with no problems!

The wedding day was perfect! Dennis was spot on with everything! He was professional and definitely kept the party going all night! When we walked into the reception space, we had up-lighting in our wedding colors and our names lit up on the wall. It looked beautiful and I thought it was so special considering I don't ever remember talking to him about this! It was something extra he added and it was perfect!

I would recommend Dennis to anyone! He's a great DJ, knows what he's doing and his prices can not be beat!

He has great communication, gives valuable input, and has an easy to use interactive website that allows you to select the music that you'd like to hear before your big day.
