These guys have been threatening my wife with "theft of service, attempt to defraud, and slander" for disputing the charge with our credit card company.
Full story below, buyer beware!
Josiah made us start our wedding 17 minutes late because he couldn't find the section of the venue we were in (and didn't try to contact anyone within the venue or alternate contacts provided), then after getting to the section and setting up, we had to continue to wait because he had to update his computer.
Three songs total were supposed to be played (and I need to emphasize this point - three TOTAL songs were to be played by Josiah. There was supposed to be seating music, but since we were anxiously waiting for Josiah to get set up, we told him to skip to the ceremony music!). The first song, the most important one, was never played. The second one, during the bride and bridesmaid's walk, was restarted for some reason, then after the second play of the song the music just sort of... stuttered off? Kind of like a techno remix of the song? Though I do have to admit - the third song during our kiss was perfectly on cue!
We paid 700 bucks for three songs. Dude came late, didn't play one of those songs, and did a poor job with one other. You're probably thinking to yourself "man, that sucks, I'm sure DJ Sound Productions offered an apology, at least!"
Luke at DJ Sound productions, when confronted, called my wife "petty", said that our "wedding wasn't disturbed" because of Josiah being tardy, and proceeded to blame her for miscommunication. During the call, he revealed that Josiah had been on mute in the background THE WHOLE TIME, and then Josiah and Luke tag-teamed yelling at my wife, not letting her speak, and putting words in her mouth.
At this point, I know what you're thinking. We probably screwed up an email somewhere, wires were crossed, Josiah's a good guy he probably had a bad day, maybe we're just overreacting, etc. In fact, I'll bet dollars to donuts that very soon there will be a response to this review from DJ Sound Productions saying some of these exact things, and maybe even accusing me of "slander", as he did when he spoke to my wife.
Here's the thing... I have videography to back up my claims, and documentation from DJ Sound Production's own systems (which they've now locked me out for some reason.... Funny considering I had access earlier today. It's okay though, I've taken screenshots of everything and exported all documents!)
If you are searching for a DJ for your event, I implore you to reconsider purchasing services from DJ Sound Productions. If you have another DJ in mind, pick them. If you have a friend or family member that could do it, choose them instead. If you have a bluetooth speaker and Spotify, you'll probably fare better than hiring DJ Sound Productions.

Absolutely one of the BEST! Highly Recommended! Throughout this entire pandemic, they were empathetic, understanding, and very willing to do what it took to make sure that we had all that we needed.
We had to change our date three time, change the location three times, and on the 4th time, we settled on an outdoor wedding! This company did everything to make sure that we were not only accommodated, but well taken care of. And best of all, they didn't charge us for ANY of the switches! The catering company did, and so did our origional venue, so DJ sound Productions was a breath of fresh air! Very awesome to work with, and on the day of our event, they sent the perfect DJ to do the job that we needed! The ceremony was just how we wanted it, the dance was packed all night. It started off day one of our marriage just as we hoped. Guests were reeling on how great the dance and music was. Kudos! This company is THE BEST and wouldn't recommend any other company!

We haven't officially used DJ Sound Productions as of yet due to Covid-19. However, we know that they will be great by the expereince that we already have had with them.
Due to this Pandemic, our venue has closed, our dates have changed three times, and now our location changed 4 times.
DJ Sound Productions have been nothing but COMPLETELY accommodating! Always positive and upbeat. Always YES and never an issue with what we need to do. My cousin is getting married this year too, and her DJ company has charged her with more fees than she can afford and have been hard to deal with and they are B********A and its been awful for her. She's even tried to switch to DJ Sound Productions, but can't get out of her contract.
So we are VERY THANKFUL that we hired this company and no others as we are hearing of all the nightmares coming to light but with DJ sound Productions, nothing....and that's GREAT! They are a great company, great choice, and i'm certain the wedding, when it happens, will be the wedding of the year! Thank you guys for making this hard stressful situation just a little more easier!

We hired DJ sound for our wedding to do the ceremony and the reception. We checked out just about every other company on here. Either they were to "Big box" or they were one man bands. Although that may be OK for some people, it was not for us. We needed a company that gave their best at one price. NOT charging us for a better DJ. They sent their best alright! Not only was the ceremony spot on, our Guests really enjoyed all the music! Experience says it all. It's like they knew our family, without knowing us! That takes talent. Not a complaint about anything at all. Nothing. It was PERFECT and that's what YOU need for your wedding! YOU HAVE TO HIRE THIS COMPANY! It's not a joke. They were amazing! We are music driven. And they know their stuff! Not to mention that the DJ they sent was outstanding. Luke is a real asset to this company. He assigned us Andre for our wedding and he was so amazing! He got my family engaged and then every song played was a favorite we forgot about. We picked DJ Sound for our wedding and had the "all day package", which included the DJ being at our rehearsal dinner and final meetings and this is an amazing package.
We had no worries as the DJ was with us every step of the way.
So talented, smart, and I depth knowledge about weddings. It gave us tons of security knowing that our DJ was a part of it all.
Then came our actual wedding day. It was beautiful and so much fun and no stress. Luke took care of everything....and he was the DJ! My sister said he did better than her wedding planner and day od coordinator and was cheaper than hers together.
They really knocked it out of the park. I'd go with their best package. $1600 you can not beat it for the piece of mind and the knowledge brought to the table. Amazing and very well done.

This is my first time working for DJ Sound Productions & Entertainment. We usually have couple parties a year at our house and we were not happy with the past DJ we used, so we decide to go with DJ Sound Productions. We were beyond pleased with the music choice, the equipment and the professionalism. The DJ came early to set up and played a great list of songs for our 80's theme party. We got married a few weeks ago and really enjoyed our dj. Their website really guides you through and allows you to pick what YOU want. The owner called us right before our wedding and went through everything with us and made sure everything was correct. The DJ who played for our wedding was great. We had specific requests to not play certain music and only accept requests within our song preferences. He listened to only us and really impressed me as far as a DJ goes. We searched dozens of wedding DJ companies in the Minneapolis area, and choose DJ Sound Productions about two years back (before our wedding). Amazing. This company is highTech! Brandon & I got every dollar worth. We searched just about every Minnesota wedding DJ service in Minneapolis and we definitely chose the best. From their way of signing the contracts to the hightech equipment. We didn't want "another I-Pod wedding" or a simple "push play" kind of DJ or the "old guy" hitting on our bride's maids.....again. We used DJ Sound Productions & Entertainment for our wedding in Minneapolis. We had them do the Ceremony and the reception.
needless to say, they were spot on! The horror stories that we've herd about other DJ companies, not one problem was present. The ceremony was intricately detailed by our DJ (Luke) and the reception was amazing. Great music was played all night long. Not one song was inappropriate or unknown. The DJ helped us with everything from talking and reminding the photographer about the events coming next to the caterer so that announcements were done and our time line went as planned. The new sound system sounded absolutely crystal clear and our bridal party and family was on the dance floor virtually all night. my husband...actually danced.
I cant say enough good things about this company. Our night was made even better because of this company. Would we recommend.....already did! Wow...great job guys!

Old reviews from 4-7 years ago didn't mean much. it just ment that they are still in business and doing well obviously. We wanted a high end DJ but affordable. So we threw our hat in the ring and choose them and we totally made the right choice! Their sound was absoutely crisp and clear. Very high end sound....but, it should be for a professional DJ company. We didn't have a clown for a DJ and he played perfect music selections and had everyone dancing all night....never once was the floor empty.
They helped us every step of the way, even answering my redicolous phone call at 11:00pm because I lost some information. They are very detail orientated when it comes to planning the day. We couldn't ask for any better of a company or those who work for it. We would definately suggest them to absoutely everyone....no doubt.

We are able to Do Skype meetings remotely. Most meetings can be done via phone or skype and all around the clock that is convenient for your schedule.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
Covid19 and your wedding.
What we can all agree on is Covid19 has everything all out of wack! But should you worry about your DJ company? With us, the answer is NO! Here is our Covid19 policy, Q&A going forward through Dec 31st, 2021.
Have we, will we, or are we canceling any weddings?
NO! You have enough to worry about. We feel that Venues & the Government has placed enough restrictions and guidelines on weddings and gatherings that we don’t need to add to it. We have never canceled a wedding since inception and we are not going to start now.
What if my venue cancels or the Gov closes down gatherings?
What we are doing is allowing TWO FREE date switches (within a calendar year) and unlimited venue switches. (See additional below)
Do you have any requirements for Covid19?
No. Again, the venues have their guidelines, and as far as our DJs go and company policy, we will let the venues dictate what is best for them and you. Just let us know and we will make sure that we are in compliance.
Do you have the above promise in writing?
Yes. We include a signed Covid19 addendum with your contract that is available 24/7 in your online account. Since you are NOT changing your terms, just our signature is required if it’s a benefit for you. Should you need additional items in the addendum, let us know and we can write one up and both parties sign it.
Can I just cancel my date with you?
You are still subject to the cancellation terms. However, in our addendum, if the Gov cancels all events for 30 people or more for a consecutive 6 months or more, we require you to reschedule. If on the 2nd reschedule, this happens again, we will refund your monies paid (less the down payment).
Why not refund the down payment if I cancel?
All companies incur expenses. A cancellation is client induced. The Gov states that events may be deferred, not canceled. So as much of a headache it is to move your date, we found that in 2020, less than 2% called it “quits”. If Force Majeure were in effect for covid, the “client” and “the company” would BOTH be bound to that clause. Most Brides & Grooms would NOT want to BOTH be bound by that clause for Covid19. Why? Then your vendor could cancel any time, without penalty, and that would be devastating to your wedding leaving you high and dry. If there were a natural disaster, then that would be under that clause. At the time of booking, the down payment is made with the assumption you are going ahead with your date. The down payment goes into company expense as a reasonable fee for booking expenses. The non-refundable down payment is compensation for work completed, NOT “punishment” for a signed contract. Again, we will refund ANY additional money paid if Covid guidelines do not permit you to have a wedding outdoors or indoors.
Anything else we should know?
Yes. We also guarantee that you will not be charged additional fees for covid19 guidelines. Furthermore, if there are price changes from the time of your old date and your new date, we will NOT pass those on to you. Your pricing in your contract is guaranteed!
