DJ Sota of West Coast Wedding DJs knocked it out of the park for our wedding at the Westlake Village Inn! Music was our top priority for our wedding after we selected a venue (ahead of flowers, decor, even photography). We interviewed several LA-based DJs, and stopped as soon as we met DJ Sota. We hired him for our MC, music, lighting, and photo booth needs.1) Great DJ- Our main priority was keeping the dance floor packed for the entire reception. DJ Sota helped us think through a playlist to get people out of their seats after the first dance and after dinner. He discussed the sequence of events for our reception so we could pick the right songs at the right time. We had a GREAT time!!2) Very professional- DJ Sota came to our first meeting prepared with his laptop. Most of the other people we met with didn't even bring a pen. Of all our vendors, DJ Sota was the most responsive via phone and email. 3) As flexible as you want him to be- We were picky about many songs on our playlist, but we trusted DJ Sota to fill the time based on his experience. He provides a detailed worksheet which he reviewed with us over the phone. We were confident that if our playlist ran out, he understood the type of music we liked. He even integrated Eastern European music for my family.4) Transparent pricing- DJ Sota was very clear about his pricing. Other vendors quoted one price then snuck in add-ons later. With DJ Sota, we knew exactly what we were getting, no surprises.5) Experience at our venue- He has DJed at our venue numerous times, which was helpful when suggesting room layout and uplight color recommendations. Dakota did an amazing job as our DJ for our big day! From the beginning he was very responsive and helpful. He really listened to what we wanted played at our wedding, and kept the dance floor poppin all night. He was very tasteful in his MCing and had smooth transitions from our ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, and activities during our reception. We used DJ Sota Entertainment for our wedding celebration and they were amazing!!!We booked them for the photo booth. Jimmy was our host. He had great communication before the event to help us pick the perfect photo background!He also put together the sweetest little photo memory book that he was sure to have all the guests sign next to their pictures!! Super helpful, patient, and all around professional. Dakota and his team gave us plenty of time to figure out all the small details, even up to and during our big day. Tyler was our DJ and he did a great job. He was on point and went out of his way to go over each step or switch over during our wedding, but without being intrusive. We had a few last minute changes and Tyler adapted without issue. Jimmy ran the photo booth and he also did a great job. DJ Josiah and DJ Sota were so easy to book with for our wedding! It was stress-free, easy, and so accommodating. They were able to talk to me on the phone a few times before the big day and got the gist of the flow and guests that were coming. I was able to tell them the vibe we were going for and they delivered! I gave them full rein to feel the crowd and play what fit the theme we talked about over the phone. It was incredible! I can't say enough wonderful things about DJ Sota! From our first call with him, he was professional and personable - a cut above others we spoke with. Every interaction with him gave us increasing confidence that we were in good hands. On the actual day of the wedding, he was amazing. From the start he was professional and very thorough and he provided his input on our song selections: letting us know in a kind manner that some songs we chose were not "normal" or the best route to take. Music has been a huge part of our relationship and we knew we wanted our day to be filled with the music that we really loved, and so we knew picking the right DJ was crucial. Dakota (DJ Sota) was absolutely fantastic! We spent hours putting together our own MASSIVE playlist of 60+ songs for our cocktail hour and another 60+ songs for dinner/dancing to send to him, because we wanted to make sure the music we wanted was played. However, it was in no particular order and it had way too many songs for the evening, so I was curious what he was going to end up doing with it. When we met for our final details meeting with him and our wedding planner, Kristen Black, it was clear that he had done his research! While he knew most of the artists we put down, he had already looked up the few songs he didn't have or hadn't heard of, and had excellent suggestions for how to weave in our music and the music for the masses (classic wedding songs) that we wanted to include as well to make everyone happy. He had also started putting some of the songs in order based on what he thought would flow best. I was impressed with his professionalism - he had a number of things he wanted to get through to ensure he had a clear idea of our vision for the day, but we also had fun just chatting and getting to know each other a bit too. By the end of the meeting, I had no doubt that Dakota was going to deliver on an amazing day! And he did! On the day of, everything went off without a hitch! Dj Sota entertainment right from the beginning made me feel confident in their work and how amazing they are! They set you up for success by asking you all the questions you could think of for your big day! They even send you a video of your dj explaining who he is! For our wedding we had Dj Josiah! We found out about DJ Sota Entertainment through our friends. Let's just say it was the best decision we made, and the one vendor that was on point, and made the night memorable. With the planning process, Dakota was patient with us when we were going through changing our minds, as well as having to modify the schedule due to issues with other vendors. Dakota was recommended to us by a friend who used him for their wedding and I'm so glad he was! He was very detailed in requesting music from us beforehand and he was great at really getting a feel for what kind of music we wanted and what we liked. I had many compliments on our playlists throughout the event and the dance music was exactly what I hoped for. I was having a hard time focusing on visiting guests because I just wanted to keep dancing!

He was an excellent MC and kept the energy going well. We included the shoe game at our reception as well and he did a really great job with it and it was a really fun addition.

We had Dakota play at our wedding in May, 2017. I don't think the dance floor was empty all night, we had a fantastic time and danced the night away. We told him what our musical tastes were generally with a few specific requests and he was able to put together a great playlist, a nice mix of oldies and new stuff. Where to begin: If could give Dakota more stars I would!!!! He did an awesome job and was amazing to work with for our March wedding. From start to finish he was very helpful, accommodating and really knows what hes doing.
