Out of all the 5-star reviews here, I'm not sure if they are legit or fake reviews based on my experience with DJ Ray Young. I booked him because of my time crunch, budget and the reviews. I was hoping that my wedding on June 24, 2023, would be spectacular! He communicated well and was nice, however when it came time to play songs-he mainly played a lot of old-school (which we picked different genres-not sure what happened), then our first dance song-it was a complete disaster!! I sent a file in an email which was mixed and ready to play, but for some reason it was skipping and had a long pause and even stopped -which caused us to not follow through our dance that we practiced for weeks. Also, during the garter toss, again his equipment failed, and my husband and our guest were dumbfounded and standing there waiting another 4 min for a song to play(now our wedding video will remind us of this nightmare forever). We were livid!! At that point we owed $300 and he told us we had to pay $225 or he would take his equipment and leave. Not acceptable on his part and he shouldn't got paid that much and owned up to his mistakes and took the loss! Now towards the end of our reception he did pick up the pace a bit. I must say I wouldn't recommend him at all. This might have been his first time DJ a wedding based on what we experienced firsthand!! More...
