A restaurant worth driving to from any distance. The Depot Street Tavern for years has been serving up some of the best, most creative and delicious dishes anywhere. I can't say I've ever had a bad meal here and each dish I try is the best of it's kind. Tonight's fare is Chorizo Meatloaf with garlic mash and mustard greens. My daughter an I went to Depot st for lunch .. we were the first customers 11 am . All the waitresses were so nice . The food was AWESOME both my daughter an I said we gotta visit more often .

Totally agree with their motto “Depot Street Tavern - the way a tavern should be”This place is busy…even bar seating comes at a premium and you need to get permission from the gatekeeper…LOL Wide selection of craft beers and while I was trying to decide the bartender brought me a sample of the two and I selected the Definitive Contee Kolsch. I saw many of the various appetizers go by me out to the tables and they are huge so I passed. Also saw many of the sandwiches go by…there is no skimping on anything here. The bartenders (all four of them) are exceptional and shared their recommendations for dinner, as the kitchen makes things FROM SCRATCH!!! The menu encompasses a wide variety of options along with a chalkboard with daily specials. I decided to go with the Ultimate Chicken Parmesan that is a large crispy chicken breast smothered in mozzarella cheese with fresh basil, prosciutto, locally made penne pasta (easy to tell this was no boxed pasta…and it was perfectly al-dente) with a homemade tomato cream sauce that complimented the dish perfectly. All a little Romano cheese and some homemade garlic bread that actually was hamburger buns…but they worked and were tasty. Overall…an exceptional meal with friendly service. Must visit. Always great food. Always. You really can't go wrong here with anything you choose. Their specials are usually the way to go, but the items on the menu are great too. Be prepared to wait/experience limited parking/share very close seating space - this place is a local favorite and it's a pretty small seating area, but the food is totally worth it and I think all of the above is what makes it so unique. We were visiting the area from out of state just this past weekend. We found the Depot St Tavern online, and decided to try it. There was a bit of a wait, which we already expected. It wasn't long enough to deter us, though! The hostess (I think they said her name was Marty or Marny maybe?) was awesome! We loved her and her sense of humor. She kept popping out of the restaurant to check on the people waiting outside, and we couldn't wait to hear what she had to say next, because she was so funny. The bartenders were also very nice! Our food came out really quickly and it was delicious. I wish we lived closer so we could visit more often! It may just be worth the 5 hour drive to come back, though! More...
