Dennis is high energy, fun, funny, and clean entertainmnet. Great with big groups and kids love him. He is personable, easy to work with, and professional. Highly recommended to keep the family entertained for an hour. He even has a unique ukulele set that I wasn't expecting but that really rounded out the show. A show they will be talking about. I should have written this a long time ago but life has been crazy. I just wanted to say thank you to Dennis for making a house full of kids totally entertained for an entire hour. It can be a daunting task to invite so many kids over and not want an average boring party but also make sure they have fun in the process. Dennis really was great with the kids and very entertaining to some of the older adults at the party too! Keep in mind he is an entertainer, not so much a magician (he did try though!!!) which was okay for a bunch of 9 year olds but may have upset a group of adults looking for some "real" magic. Overall he was fantastic and I would definitely recommend him! More...

We just had Dennis for our son's 8th birthday party this past weekend and he was fantastic!  It was a Harry Potter themed party and he did a great job of incorporating that. From the very start, Dennis was great to work with.  When I was first looking for a magician, I sent him an inquiry.  He called me right away and we discussed all of the options open to us, pricing, dates, etc.  We considered some other magicians, but Dennis seemed to be the right fit, especially since our son loves both magic and comedy. We opted for the enhanced package - the magic show, a t-shirt signed by all the kids and a magic workshop where the kids would learn tricks and then get them as part of their party favors.  This was an hour and a half, which was perfect!Dennis arrived early and was all set and ready to go after we finished potions class.  He quickly wrangled the kids and set some ground rules (there were 20 kids, so there needed to be some order).  He involved tons of kids in the act, but especially my son who giggled his way through all the tasks he was involved in.  There was lots of laughter and amazement (by both kids and adults) and the time seemed to fly.  Once they moved on to the workshop, the kids were all super intent to learn the tricks and were the quietest they'd been all day.  After the workshop, Dennis handed out all the goodies from his show and the kids were really excited to have their own tricks to perform.I would TOTALLY hire Dennis again and would recommend him to anyone.  He was professional, friendly, personable and all at a fair price.  I'm so grateful that we found him for our party.  He was the perfect entertainment for us! We'd taken our son to the Magic Castle for his 7th birthday, and since then he's been interested in magic.  So we figured he'd enjoy having a magician perform for him and his friends at his 8th birthday.   Dennis captivated the whole group of 15+ kids.  All of his magic is wonderfully performed, but some of his tricks are truly astonishing, especially at close range.  The adults enjoyed themselves too.  My partner was laughing pretty hard!  In addition to the terrific show, we appreciated his special one-on-one time with our son. Thanks for making our son's birthday so special and memorable, Dennis! More...

Dennis recently performed at my eight year old daughter's birthday party.Anyone who can command the attention and control an audience of 15 seven and eight year olds clearly has talent. He allowed the kids to participate in most of the tricks and was able to tailor his act to all ages -- parents and kids alike.I was very happy with Dennis and would recommend him to anyone. More...

Q&As

I have had an interest in magic since I was very young. I only rediscovered magic again in my 20's while living in Stuttgart, Germany while I was serving in the U.S. Army. I studied magic, European style clowning and street performing in my spare time. After I got out of the army I moved to Seattle and started working part time as a restaurant entertainer. I took a job with a booking agency and learned about events and booking entertainment. About a year later I purchased the company and eventually moved to Denver where I restarted the business, met my wife and started a family. Its been a wonderful 27-28 years and I feel so lucky to be making my living as a magician. I don't think that little boy I was ever would have seen that coming.

I always perform to the audience I have in front of me. It is important to connect with your audience at the level they are at. Sometimes this means having the ability to offer entertainment to a variety of ages, intellects and backgrounds. Magic is a unique in that it is a very flexible form of entertainment that can be performed to a passive audience with close up magic as it can be performed to a captive audience with an intimate sit down show.
I provide a show that is an engaging experience in either case.

My magic performances are laced with family friendly, professionally appropriate humor. It is my goal to make anyone who helps me on stage look and feel empowered. I depend on that trust with my audience that I will not make them look foolish or feel bad about the experience.

My routines and many of my effects are uniquely my own. When you hire me you are not hiring "just a magician" you are hiring a skilled and entertaining character to perform for your audience. I provide a show that is full of variety and fun. While a lot of my performance is loosely scripted there is a lot of room for improvisational comedy to be inserted along the way. This adds to the spontaneity of my act and allows every event to be different than the next.

I love the creativity my job offers me. I love sharing my discoveries in magic performances and effects. Being able to perform and connect with my audience is a truly life affirming experience. Being together with my audience and sharing moments of impossible things is one of the best places I find meaning in my life. My work is about relationships. No matter where I am performing that is at the root of my work, act and performance.

After serving in the U.S. Army as a combat photographer in the Gulf War my outlook on the world had totally turned upside down. I had seen more than anyone should see and I needed a more life affirming career. I first continued with my photography but soon found more joy and steady work in entertaining. I have run a few entertainment booking companies over the years and eventually decided that I just wanted to promote myself and work as a comedy magician.

More than anything I want to create a relationship with clients that goes beyond just being a novelty entertainer for their event. I want to forge a relationship with them that makes them want have me as their first choice for entertainment. I offer an act that is one of a kind. It is more than just my magic, it is my personality and character. I believe I have the skills and experience to give clients the best performance investment they can find. I am not looking for a one time customer I am looking for a client needs the specific shows I provide.
