About

The Problem
It is not uncommon for a commercial or residential organization or individual to know it needs a project, but not clear on how best to start…or worse yet, to launch into the design process without carefully establishing the groundwork.

Q&As

While I am new to IT, I’m not new to Smart Architecture. This philosophy evolved from my first discovery of architecture.
When I was a young man, my family purchased a single family house built during the early 60’s that was partially imbedded in the South side of a hill and clad in stone taken from the excavation. However, the interior didn’t function properly. I developed design sketches as well as alternates. After sitting down with my Father to explain these “wonderful” ideas, he smiled and said I could do any one of them as long as I didn’t spend any money – my first lesson in Smart Architecture !
Over the years my Smart Architecture experience in design and construction has evolved many times over. It has included physically constructing simple commercial buildings and sites where actually putting together the elements teaches what does and doesn’t work effectively. While Buildings are the major component of my architectural life, site engineering all types of sites, mountainside to beach front, connected building parts to grading, utilities, storm water management, building placement and parking - all orchestrated to fit local regulations – and the final cap – fit a budget and generate a profit. After designing and managing contract development for multistory buildings, I began to see that Smart Architecture is scalable and transferable to all sizes/types of projects. However, just as technology and the science of building has evolved so has Smart Architecture been enhanced.
