Saw a Facebook post and decided to try this place out. Emailed to reserve a spot for 5 on 5/5/21 &”@ 5pm. Emailed to add 2 more to our reservation and change it to 7pm. We received it emailed confirmation to change the time and amount of people. We get there and they insist they don’t have us on the list. They said we were supposed to be there by 5pm and I explained we emailed and changed the time. They did apologize and sat us. We waited at least 10 minutes for waitress to come ask us what we wanted to drink. After that it was at least 30 minutes we waited for our waitress to come back to take our order. We kept looking at her to get her attention and we were ignored until my niece had to call her over and ask her to take out order. 5 of us 7 got AUCE crabs and they bought out 2 trays, 1 plate with 3 ears of corn on it for 5 people and 2 trays of hush puppies after 30 mins... no napkins, slow drink refills and slow to refill auce crabs. They then only bring one tray for 5 people to eat auce crabs. I ate 5 crabs total, not worth $35 at all!!! Owner came out and apologized and gave us 2 free cinnamon pretzels. Waitresses were not very friendly and while my family didn’t leave a tip because the service was way less than it should have been, I felt bad and the waitress was lucky I even tipped her the $12.30 I did! Would not recommend and will not go back. More...

This is the best thing in the greater Towson area. Great food, great wait staff, great atmosphere.  NEver disappoints. Beer choices put world of beer to shame. A great local spot to catch a football game or grab drinks with friends. They have lots to choose from by way of alcohol and appetizers. Great atmosphere and service. After several restaurants have come and gone from this location, I'm hopeful that this one will stay. They have a build your own burger which is great. And they also have a chalkboard to track Facebook page likes. After so many, the bar gets a free round, so be sure to like the FB page! More...

So this place replace what was once the Barn, which had crabs and such to now serving German delicacies. Getting to this place from the opposite side of the road is difficult. No instructions of which end to enter. I ended up turning on the side which I met the narrow end and had to back and turn back onto the street to turn back onto the lot. Hard to find parking but I lucked up. Seating was hard to find upstairs, not sure if there were seating down below. There was a section reserved, but was like ok, but there was greeter to guide you with seating. There was a table that was being cleaned and the servers said we could take this one once it was cleaned. My hubby is from the Netherlands and has been to Germany and is familiar with the German cuisine.  So I ordered what I thought what would be good. For appetizers I ordered the pretzel which came with 2 dipping  sauces, I choose the honey strawberry butter and the country mustard (I will definitely order this again but only with the butter), hubby had the salami platter. For main course, I had the weiner schnitzel and hubby had the veil one. Not a fan of the sauce nor the purple cabbage (which tasted like it was pickled) the apple sauce tastes homemade. For dessert we had the German apple cake. Not a fan of nuts in my food, would have probably liked it without the nuts. I wonder do they serve one without nuts due to we have a kid with nut allergies. Other than that nice place. It gets pretty loud inside, could barely hear ourselves or our server. More...

I love this place. I am very familiar with Germany and the German kitchen. This place has captured the good tastes and sometimes fused them with the local tastes. I loved the red cabbage which was very genuine. The schnitzel was good but most of all the whole package was very appealing. Not the hole in the wall or another beer place disguised as a restaurant. Our group wanted to try something different and it was such a treat finding this spot. FUN atmosphere, the availability for outside seating (with both smoking and non-smoking decks), and good service all make for a pleasureable dining experience. Add in that all the food we tried was outstanding and you've got a repeat customer in me!Arrived and decided we'd like to enjoy the weather by dining out on the (non-smoking) outdoor patio. The restaurant is a seat yourself type spot so we grabbed the first table we saw and were promptly seen by a waiter who came with fresh water in tow. He took out drink order and left us to peruse the menu. Let it be known that their drink menu is extensive, carrying a long list of german beers (obvi, it is a german beer hall), as  well as the classics you'd expect. There's also a few alcoholic specials but there have a full bar so you can order pretty much anything you'd like. Football specials on gameday add to the fun and there's happy hour 7 days a week here - not starting until 2pm on Sunday so we missed them. For food, two in our group ordered the Chicken Bacon Ranch sandwhich and one ordered the Veal Schnitzel BLT. Both sandwiches were phenomeanal and both would be happily ordered again. Both sandwiches came with a side of fries and they were awesome. Perfectly fried and seasoned - perfect for dipping in one of their plethora of dipping sauces! The chicken babon ranch was MESSY but the flavor was "out of this world" as my fiance put it. Diced pieces of grilled chicken that is slathered in BBQ sauce, then topped with bacon, thick cut onion straws, and a salty, creamy delicious ranch sauce. All sandwiched between a buttery brioche bun - it was heavenly. Veal schnitzel BLT was also pretty darn good. Crispy bacon and schnitzel, fresh tomatoes, and mixed greens are sandwiched between grilled slices of sourdough that are slathered in a lemon caper aioli whichg added the perfect mix between salty and sweet. It really was a fun twist on a classic sandwich. Can't wait to go back for another round of food and plenty of drinks - lots to choose from and many of which I've never heard of - the perfect storm! We really like Das Bierhalle in spite of the grammatically incorrect name-- Americans won't care but Germans, of course, have made a note of this error. The beer selection is amazing! I stuck with the Dogfish Head Slightly Mighty, a really solid draft IPA. The soft pretzel dipping sauces were great-- we had the mustard and currywurst ketchup. For dinner, I had the Impossible Burger (delish!) w/ fries and my compadre had the Wienerschnitzel. Nothing here is super authentic German, it is very American German, but that is OK. It was all very tasty. Just one note: Too Much Salt on everything. There was even salt on my burger bun (a pretzel roll) that I did not need.Service was good, the atmosphere is good. We chose Das as the gathering spot to celebrate a great friend's 50th birthday, and WOW did we make the right choice! The food appeals to everyone and isn't daunting, heavy German fare of yore. Nope, this is what I would call German-American bar food, and though I love German food, Das's modern twist makes it much more interesting and fun.  The sausages, especially The Deb, are house made and outstanding, as are the soft pretzels, with a ton of dipping sauces to choose from (try the rosemary thyme mustard...so good!). We are working our way through the menu, and every thing we have tried so far has been worth another visit. Next, the service! Our main bartenders/servers for the night were Josh and Martha, and they were attentive, funny, and welcoming. Never did a drink go empty, from water glasses to beers to brown sugar bourbon shots (lawd help me...those darn brown sugar bourbon shots had my mouth feeling like the sole of Ghandi's flip flop the next morning....worth it!) Right from the start, from making the arrangements with Andrew, to the tip at the end for Josh and Martha, all of it confirmed we'd made a great decision to hold the party there. The old Barn location on Harford Road is now Das Bierhalle.  We stopped in on a weekday afternoon and sat at the roomy bar where we were greeted by Ryan who was friendly, personable, and knowledgable about the menu and the expansive beer list.  We got off to a good start when I asked about Bock beers and he provided a sample of the one on tap - heady, bocky, with a touch of sweetness.  I opted for the one-liter size and it lasted through the meal (it took 2 hands to lift). The menu is extensive, laid out well, and obviously geared to a German beer hall.We had two different selections - Slow Roasted Pork & Cabbage and the Jagerschnitzel.  The pork and veal (oh so tender) were delicious, nice portions, and the sides complemented the entrees nicely.  The German creamed spinach was particularly noteworthy (after the veal and pork) in a buttery cream sauce with crispy spinach (ususally you find the spinach too limp in such sauces). We're looking forward to returning for the beers and to sample more menu options.  Highly recommend this location. However, they have a friendly staff and large beer menu with several options including domestic (in case you're not interested in German brew). During happy hour a liter of Bud Lite was $7. I ordered the chicken tenders and a pretzel. As others have mentioned, the chicken was overcooked and tuff. The pretzel on the other hand, was amazing. Hot and fresh and flat out the best I've had. I tried about 4 of their several different dipping sauces for the schnitzel and pretzel but that's not my style. I prefer regular mustard and ketchup. For the pretzel I got beer cheese and beer mustard. The beer cheese was not bad. The mustard was stone ground and just too fancy for a soft pretzel (in my option) but the pretzel doesn't need any sauce. It's amazing without anything. Cool, German beerhouse experience right in Baltimore County near the beltway. It's not a fancy restaurant, more like a place to hangout and relax with a beer and some good German food. You seat yourself, in one of the communal tables on the side, or at a high-top surrounding the bar. There are several servers circling the place so the service can be sporadic, especially if it gets busy. It's not a large place, so you just have to be patient. The servers more than made up for it, they were very polite and knowledgable. The on-site parking lot is tight, but you can park across the alley in back next to Quality Business Solutions. The beer list is extensive, with several German imports and craft beer selections. Draught beers are poured by half-liter (0.5L-about 1 oz. more than a pint) and full-liter (double that much!). Happy hour specials every day, including weekends, 4PM-7PM -- $4 for 0.5L beer, $7 for 1L beer (includes most imports and craft) -- and food specials. You can ask for samples, and they will kindly help you choose a beer you like. I recommend trying the soft pretzel, it comes with a choice of sauces. There are several more apps and entrees to choose from. Entrees consist of: different kinds of schnitzel - veal, pork, chicken, or vegan schnitzel that can be prepared with a variety of sauces and sides; sausages - such as bratwurst, knockwurst, kase krainer, etc; sandwiches, salads, beef goulash or creamy potato soup. Food portions are not too large, just right for me, and prices are reasonable. They have a kids menu. They are still in opening mode, so they might make some additions/adjustments.
