We hired Dan Chan Presents for our high school Senior Ball Breakfast and Dan did such a great job! From our first contact he was extremely responsive, professional, and easy to work with. He called to confirm he event details and finalize the plans about a week out. The night of he arrived on-time and his first act was fire juggling which was a big hit with the kids as they got off of the busses and queued for check-in. After that he moved around the room interacting with them in small groups before taking center stage and performing for the students. I attended a show with Dan and his son, James, what a talented family! James was very impressive with his juggling (juggling at one point up to 6 balls! ) and the father-son duo even did a mixed combined juggling routine that was really fun to watch. It's incredibly sweet to watch him perform with his son and to watch his son practice his craft (at such a young age!). Dan's magic trick-arsenal is so vast that he can tailor his shows for any occasion or audience size/type. For example, if you've got engineers or programmers in your audience, Dan's got math tricks that'll blow their mind. If you like more coins-behind-the-ear tricks, Dan can do those too! Without a doubt- 5 Stars!  * quick response- Dan replied to my yelp quote request within 10 min.  We chatted for a bit and he ultimately recommended Colin for my sons fifth birthday party.  * talent- Colin is awesome with his larger than life personality, he commands the attention of the room and wrangled twenty rambunctious pre-k's to watch the magic show.  *family friendly content- Colin is a magician, comedian, juggler, balloon artist, mad scientist, hype man, and sustainability entrepreneur.  His charismatic personality captivated the crowd making kids and adults alike roar with laughter.  I loved how he sprinkled fun science facts into his routine adding quality entertainment to the hysterics. *quality- Colin and I chatted the night before so he could get a feel for the crowd.   He prepped an intricate train for my son out of balloons. He excelled in creating complex multi balloon sculptures as well as swords (because hitting your friends with balloon swords is the best part about being 5yrs old.) haha..     See examples in my attached photos.*Extra- I paid for two hours and he was here longer than that (sorry Colin) everyone wanted to chat with him and the kids couldn't get enough.  I tried to get him to take a break but he refused and continued to entertain.  He played swords with the kids and seemed to really enjoy himself.  Even while he was walking out the door a guest arrived late and he put down his stuff to stop and make her a balloon.   Colin is an awesome entertainer as well as an amazing human.*value/cost - his prices are the only thing about him that's "industry standard".  To put it in perspective, this party cost half the price as my Chuck E Cheese party did last year. Both kids and parents seem to enjoy this years event a lot more than a standard C.E.Cheese Party.  In conclusion, Colin is high value and lower cost than a standard destination party. *repeat business- the other moms loved Colin and there's talk of hiring him for a school event.  Secondly, he mentioned an insane juggling routine he's working on, I'd love to hire him over the summer for a backyard BBQ.  Let the good times roll. *Personal note: Thank you Colin!  You are an extra special person with amazing things awaiting you in the future.  I feel like we became friends in the short time you were here and I wish you the best with your sustainable living endeavors.  Please keep in touch. Dan was super easy to get in touch with and coordinate with. While he and James were already booked for the date we were looking for, Dan suggested Colin. Colin the magician was FANTASTIC and just perfect for my child's birthday. Colin was prompt, friendly, professional, and had great energy for a crowd of mostly 3-5 year olds (and parents)! We shared a photo of his pre-made balloon art and everyone was commenting/asking about it. At the party, he made sure every child got a custom-crafted balloon and even left an extra just in case. Colin the magician was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING and perfect for my daughter's 5th birthday. He had fantastic energy, was professional and friendly! His balloon art was out-of-this world! He made sure every child got a custom-crafted balloon. When it came to his magic show, he really Wowwed the whole crowd (20 kids) and parents. Dan introduced himself while he was getting some repair work done on his car. In a few short minutes he had me amazed and in stitches. He had a deck of cards he was playing with and I noticed every card was an ace of spades. He said he was a magician and I figured he wasn't a very good one if I had already seen that every card in the deck was the same. He asked me to pick a card and sure enough, it was an ace of spades. Then he asked me to sign the card and put it back in the deck. No matter how I shuffled the deck he managed to pull my card out of it, then the deck changed from all spades to all clubs (except for my card). Finally my card disappeared then reappeared, with my signature, folded up in a zipped compartment in his wallet. This was in a repair shop with no props, curtains or assistants. I've worked with Dan Chan on two events, and have been 100% happy every time. Once for a 'casino-night' themed event and another for a corporate sunset cruise. The first time we did the stand-by option and ended up working with Dan. The second time, I specifically booked Dan. -Extremely talented: Dan is an incredible illusionist. His tricks are sophisticated, diverse, and quality. So entertaining. -Self sufficient/Personable: Dan doesn't need a lot of direction. He works small groups and the crowd on his own, he's funny, and friendly. -Communication: Responsive via text, email, phone. Pinged me the night before the event. Arrived early, and texted me updates. I never had to wonder, worry, or wait. I'll be brief, but bottom line is that Dan was amazing to work with, and consistently delivers. Incredible!!! We had Dan, Kat and James be part of our 50th Anniversary party. Dan and his son WOWED us all all during the party with their magical genius and had everyone scratching their heads in wonderment of how they pulled off their magic tricks. Kat is beyond, beyond in terms of a balloon artist. Her creations were so elaborated and unique. Our goal was a fun filled, memorable night for all ages from the young to the old. Dan and his talented family fit the bill. They were like family before the event was over. We found Dan through Yelp but I've heard of his dinner shows before.  We had him perform with his son at our school end of year party and he was AMAZING! !!!!!  His son is so natural, the kids were captivated and Dan is a wonderful showman. I wasn't sure how everyone would know he's a magician since we did not put up a formal stage, but Dan effortlessly created his own spotlight.  He was definitely the hit of our party and we hope he will come back every year. Booking with Dan was probably the easiest part of planning my son's party this year.  He contacted me literally minutes after I submitted my inquiry, in fact I think every occasion I had to either call or text Dan if I did not get him right away he responded within 10min of leaving a message.  Dan was extremely helpful in working with our date/time frame and budget, and booked us Colin for our party.Colin was absolutely wonderful with our party guests, and most importantly he really made my son feel like the star of the show.  He was exactly on-time for his performance, had the kids captivated for his show - which thankfully allowed the parents to catch a breather and enjoy some lunch!  And finally he took the time to accommodate each child at the party with a balloon; most impressive of all was the balloon he twisted for my son prior to the show!  I had so many parents express how impressed they were with Colin and I just wanted to be sure to pass that sentiment along, as it is well deserved and earned.  I can't imagine us not including Dan Chan Presents as part of our future party plans from here on our for our kids. I found Dan through a local listing. The whole process was super easy and hassle-free. He was responsive and we were able to book for the Saturday date that we wanted. This event was originally for my kid's 10th Birthday party, however Dan and his awesome progeny (son and daughter) delivered more than what we bargained for...At the day of the event, Dan arrived on time. He engaged with our family right away and got to know everyone a bit. Before the show, he gave our child a few how-to's magic tricks session as a gift, which also included a guide book on how to be a magician. :)Dan and his brood gave a full hour magic session for about 20+ kids (age ranges 5-13) and interactively, engaged them with different games. Some of his fun tricks were the big balloon burst and magic cards using iphone that puzzled the whole party. Soon after the kids' show is done, he gathered some of the adult parents for stimulating mind-bending sessions. Dan is definitely a professional, we thoroughly enjoyed his show and we probably will see him again at other events around town. I contacted Dan via yelp and he responded really quickly.  He was great to coordinate with.  The whole process was very smooth.  Colin was the magician and he contacted me the day before to coordinate as well.  Great communication.On the day of the event, Colin performed his magic show for the kids.  He also created master balloons for the kids of honor.  The balloons looked incredible.   He was very friendly, personable and very dedicated.The show was great and it kept the kids entertained.  He made sure every kid had a balloon.  I liked his philosophy of making sure every kid got attention. Dan and his son did an outstanding and engaging magic show for my son's 11th birthday.  I was completely amazed at how Dan handled a room of 18 boys who were screaming and hooting at every trick. The boys were coming at him in all directions. Dan was a true master at handling their questions and presenting trick after trick that was new and impressive.  The boys were amazed and dazzled and impressed by the magic, and they all wanted to learn the tricks of his trade.  Many of the boys asked me how many million dollars we paid to have Dan for the party. Dan takes you on an incredible magical and intimate journey, which leaves you with your mouth wide open at every move. The format is very unique and thought out with great love and attention, ranging from the "simple" card tricks to mentalist illusions, all woven into a beautiful narration. His presence and mannerisms are so refined and charismatic, you feel so at ease even if he is up close and personal tricking your senses, while you wish strongly to talk to him and tell him how he inspires you to be happy. The single most beautiful and magical thing, his entire family is dedicated in some shape or form to this artistry and if you are lucky, the star of the show will be his son James whose wittiness and playful presence adds more entertainment to the show.
