This is a great shop with very nice staff working up front. Bottom line is that if you want some Mediterranean / Arab food products, you need to come to Damascus. There are freshly baked pitas and many different sides in the fridge. You can buy baklawah here. That is the filo dough filled desert. You can also get good olives. You can also get good spreads, including the olive tamponade. You can try matboucha. The pitas include whole wheat and regular variety. There is zaatar for purchase as well. The man up front will guide you as well. I find this place better than the perhaps more famous Sahadi’s next door. More...

I used to live in the Middle East where you could get fresh baked bread every day. So was very happy to see I could recreate that experience right here in Brooklyn. The store has a very mom and pop feel to it. The owner was very helpful and makes a lot of suggestions on what you may like and how to store the items.I bought some lovely hummus and dip. Along with some fresh baked pita bread. The store also sells some amazing vegetarian pies. The thing I did not like was the cumber salad. I found it a little bitter but that might just be my personal taste. Overall a great ethnic bakery. More...

Absolutely love this place, and the people behind the counter are friendly and helpful, always making the visit here an entertaining experience. It's a small store that is absolutely crammed full of delicious goodies. Breads, baklava, a whole wall of salads, spreads and sides. If you like this style of food, you have to stop in and pick something up to go.Prices are a bit up and down, depending on what you're getting, some things seem reasonable and others are strange - like tabouli salad in a tiny container - can't remember what but it wasn't worth it - but the spinach pies are extremely reasonably priced and really good.If I could get this stuff for dinner every night, I would. I mean I guess I can, nothing is stopping me beyond my bank account. Just check this place out, it'll be worth the visit. More...

This is a great spot to pick up something to fill out a meal or as an offering for a potluck or party. I especially love their delicious red cabbage salad, zatar bread and desserts!Just a little tip, it's really tasty to take their spinach pies home and make egg in a whole with them! More...

Wonderful selection of middle eastern foods. The variety of salads, dips, soups, savory pastries and cakes is immense: shwarma is excellent and I found a great Lebanese extra virgin olive oil that is perfect to cook with.

Small bakery located close to Trader Joe's in Brooklyn and not too far from the Brooklyn bridge. The pistachio baklava is all I had but was SO good! The pistachio paste was chewy and the syrup just enough to slightly soak it :) you have got to try. I saw people ordering the meat pies which I wish I'd tried!! I would definitely return if in the area! Please go and taste for yourselves!!! More...

Wonderful prepared middle eastern foods. All the pies are delicious and the dips and salads are fresh and housemade. Pies, salads and dips are great for picnics, lunch on the go, serve guests with drinks, or great for delicious eating on flights! All the food is real and healthy food too, so you feel good about eating it. Old fashioned sincere small family business service. One of my favourite Brooklyn food places. More...

Great spot for Middle eastern delights and specialty foods! The cheese Knafe was delicious! I recommend either to get it first thing in the morning or heat it in the oven before you eat it - really makes a difference. Walnut baklava is great! Just like I've eaten in Jerusalem. The maamuls are so good! Both the walnut and the date. I prefer the date! Crazy big variety of imported middle eastern cheeses and also a lot of house made deli salads - baba ganush and tabule are delicious. Spinach cheese pie is great too. Honestly a great place!
