A group of us " girls" from local high school went there on March 14, 2019... about 10 of us... I really liked the food and the server was a very nice young lady. ... I got the half chicken dinner with potato salad and coleslaw... wow... their coleslaw is the best in the Elmira , NY area.. and the potato salad was very good... both tasted homemade... like your Mom or Grandma made.... the chicken was very good.... seasoned nice... I ended up taking some chicken, potato salad, and coleslaw home... my friend got meatloaf and wow, it was a big piece of meatloaf.. she said it was very good... they have tempting desserts in a front refrigerated case... I saw on other sites that people gave Curly's a low rating.. those people must be grumpy people !! More...

Curly’s Chicken House is a traditional American family restaurant that has been serving great rotisserie chicken for many decades. Seniors appreciate the very affordable prices, families like the children’s menu, and everyone loves the chicken! Their Chicken BBQ Sandwich with its signature Red Pepper Relish is simply out-of-this-world, and is the #1 reason that I crave Curly’s. All of their BBQ Sandwiches are topped with this sweet secret. Their incredibly fresh Coleslaw is absolutely the best I have ever tasted in any of the 4 states we’ve called home. The secret is the freshly grated cabbage that has just the perfect amount of sauce spooned on it just before it is served, and it is finished with a pretty sprinkle of paprika. I love it, and typically, I don’t like any restaurant’s cole slaw! Each member of my family has their own favorite meal: Ham BBQ Sandwich, Chicken BBQ Sandwich, and the Quarter or Half Chicken Dinner. Their pies are a lovely ending to a great meal. My husband was raised in the neighboring village of Horseheads, so he has loved Curly’s all his life (65 years). We have been enjoying Curly’s whenever possible since before we were married, 40+ years ago. We love the food, uber-affordable prices, friendly waitstaff, and its pleasant, hometown-style atmosphere. I wish they would grow their business into wherever I happen to be living. It’s a full day’s drive to get to Curly’s from our current home in SW Ohio, but between Curly’s and family members still in the area, it’s well worth the drive. More...

I went a month ago for my first time. My Uncle who worked at the Ithaca Curly's Chicken house in the 60's told me about the Elmira location. It was Bittersweet since he passed last October. I was treated very well and was pleased their chicken is gluten free friendly. I also have a sensitivity to onion and garlic and was happy I could also enjoy the chicken without a reaction. Food and service is great. Just would like to see them bring back the finger buckets they had back in the 60's They had 2 plastic sand buckets on the table for chicken orders. One was for your bones, the other had a little water to rinse your fingers. Then they had the rotisserie set up so you could see it from the window of the order and pickup, front room there. You could see the chickens spinning on the rotisserie. It was always amusing as a child. Something different you didn't see much elsewhere. More...
