Fleur de Lis Academy is a great choice for children of all ages to learn dance fundamentals as well as manners and etiquette. My daughter who is 7 has been dancing since we she was 3, and has come very far thanks to owner Michelle Sperry and her team. This year Michelle has introduced Connecticut theater Ballet for those interested in developing their skill for performing arts which is very exciting! The children not only perform in annual shows but also invited to perform at other local events like West Rocks middle Schools epic Elf play and political gatherings to name a couple. Each student plays a part in the annual Nutcracker to get us all into the holiday spirit.This studio specializes in ballet, an art of precision and exactness per the American Academy Ballet, Michelle invests many hours to ensure the curriculum supports just that. Being a ballerina in the Boston Ballet previously affords the exposure to a network of elite dancers and teachers to enhance the talent of each and every ballerina. Since our 4 year old daughter started with Ms. Michelle at Fleur de Lis I have been watching the classes through the open door and enjoyed every moment of them. Ms. Michelle is the most fun, loving and patient teacher every kid and parent dreams of. She has the most amazing way to make the kids giggle with laughter, make them feel good about themselves and at the same time introduce an amazing discipline amongst the little ones, every parent of a four year old would be happy to see at home.I am truly amazed what they all learn, it's like watching a scattered flock of chickens suddenly stop, get in a line and dance a beautiful choreography all at once all with big smiles in their faces. It is truly heart warming. Even when a kid is moody or sad, disturbing or just a "3 year old", not once Ms. Michelle loses her patience and love.  Fleur de Lis is not only a place to learn Ballet, but also a place to feel at home, loved and valued.Whoever is thinking about ballet classes for their kids, I would say, don't even look around, come directly to Fleur de Lis, it cannot get any better.This school and all the dedicated people working there is a true gem amongst us. Emma LOVES Miss Michelle.... even though Emma is too young to fully understand all the class...she loves dancing to the music and is learning a LOT!  Miss Michelle is not bothered that Emma is not doing exactly what she says,....a 2 year old simply is a 2 year old and Miss Michelle knows exactly how to make it fun and rewarding for her.  Emma really loves to dance and be with the other little ballerinas.
