What makes a great website?
Some sites are intended to create sales, others to generate donations, and others to book speaking gigs or sell products. With that said, let me answer this the best way I can in a "general" fashion.
Your website needs to be looked at, and treated as, your best and most reliable sales person and/or brand advocate. It needs to generate phone calls, emails, and/or leads for your organization. In order to that, it needs to seen as credible by your sites visitors.
Trustworthiness is achieved through a current (modern) design that includes testimonials from customers, awards won, portfolio/work examples, and current partnerships / clients. From a technical perspective, it's important that the site be secure using SSL, fast, and properly optimized and tagged so it can rank as well as possible in the search engines.
With more than 50% of traffic now being on mobile, the site should be responsive, and (possibly) use AMP and Facebook Instant Articles, depending on the site.
If the site is found well in search and social, creates confidence from visitors, has great "calls to action" (CTAs) and has clear ways to get in contact, the site will treat you well.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
What are your current business growth goals and how do you feel digital marketing could help achieve them?
Describe the ideal experience that you hope a potential customer will have with your marketing, from the point that they discover you, including how they discover you, thru them actually becoming a client.
What would be the perfect result of us working together be, specifically? Please include timelines, and measurable numbers.
Describe your creative process.
First and foremost, I need to understand the overall goals that the project is helping to make happen. Everything decision needs to drive those goals. Once I understand that, I put together a strategy document with very specific action items.
Then, we go over the document with the client and have a brainstorming session.
That session will officially begin the creative process. We look at examples that are working well in the marketplace and start putting together ideas using successful elements from those examples.
What information do you need from a client before you can start work?
Organization goals over the next 24, 12, and 6 months and how this project should impact those goals.
Digital versions of any relevant files.

What do you love most about your job?
I love creating revenue streams that didn't previously exist for people/brands/organizations. It's a really powerful feeling. I love knowing that my work actually creates a difference in people's lives. I love creating.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I started my business in 1999. When I did, my twin girls were 3 years old and I wanted to create something that they could be involved in with me. I wanted to have unlimited income and be able to create my own schedule. 17 years later, my daughters are (almost) 21 years old, and both of them work with me in the marketing industry.

I have experience with more than 500 different companies, and have a ton of testimonials from people that love my work. I know business. I have been in Inc Magazine twice because of my personal business success. I'm not the cheapest at anything I do... but I do it right and think beyond the "look and feel."
If the campaign or design doesn't lead potential clients toward confidence, phone calls, leads and sales - it's not doing it's job.
