The other reviews basically summarize it up perfectly. You come here for the macarons! I have been here many, many times over the past 8-9 years and one thing is for certain: they make macaron magic. I've had macarons from other bakeries like Byerly's etc., and they are all garbage compared to these.The cupcakes are hit or miss. When they're moist or fresh they're really really good, but 50% or more of the time they're dry. And with how competitively priced the place is, it's not worth the gamble. Plus the selection is always small compared to other cupcake bakeries. That being said though, their doppleganger Hostess™ cupcake was amazing the one time I was lucky enough to find one.The cake pops are gross, but to be fair I think all cake pops are gross. The gluten free cake is super yummy. It's basically a pile of fudge. Also, the cookies are delicious. However, they're not any better than other good cookies.But what does it matter? You don't come here for cupcakes and the other stuff, you come here for macarons! Even if they are $2 for just one.They are exquisite every single time. Some of their flavors are constant and always available while others are temporary/specialty. Salted Caramel and Pistachio are my personal gotos of their regular flavors. But my absolute favorite is a specialty one that's not always available: Lemon Blueberry. I don't even like lemony treats usually. It is to die for.Tip, eat them same day for best texture and taste, and the colder the better without actually freezing them. I basically pop them in the fridge for a few hours when I get home. I love the sea salt camel macaroons the are a little spendy at $2.00 each but the filling is AMAZING I especially love them cold and the colder the better putting them in the fridge makes them chewy which I love will defently be going back. If I had to choose between this location and their primary location by Southdale mall, I would choose the other no doubt. This location has a much smaller selection and the staff is not near as welcoming or friendly . However, the products they do carry are delicious and you can taste the quality in every bite. Cocoa and Fig absolutely NAILED our wedding cake and exceeded all our expectations! At the last minute, our wedding cake vendor dropped out on us and I scrambled to find a replacement. I called countless bakeries and finally found Cocoa, thank God! I worked with one of the owners, Joe, from the beginning and he was super responsive and easy to work with. Being able to pick up a "Tasting Box" of cupcakes to find which flavors we liked best was convenient and fun! Once we decided on the sinfully chocolate cake, Joe took our inspiration picture and made it into a reality. The price was reasonable and the onsite delivery was convenient. I can't imagine a better dessert caterer than Cocoa and Fig! I'm a relatively experienced baker and my family are all (self-described) dessert snobs, and we were all so impressed with the quality of the desserts both at our tasting and at my wedding. Guests also raved. They were able to do exactly what we wanted, with a bunch of layer cakes in several flavors as well as lots of different mini tarts. With these different kinds of dessert I wasn't sure how it'd all look together on display, but Cocoa and Fig set it all up and provided the serving stands, and the presentation was perfect and beautiful. Communication with Joe was easy and prompt, and his recommendation for the number of cakes for our guests was also spot-on. Cocoa & Fig did the desserts for my daughter's wedding.  They were great to work with.  The tasting session was very helpful in deciding what to order.  They provided everything needed to arrange the miniature desserts attractively at the reception and handled the set-up and pick up.  Most important, the desserts were delish!  If I had to do again, I would order fewer miniature tarts and fruit pies.  They didn't seem to be as popular as other options. I strongly recommend Cocoa & Fig to anyone having a wedding or event where they need catered desserts! Our entire experience with them was excellent and our Dessert Coordinator Lauren was very friendly and helpful from the initial consultation / tasting through execution on the big day. For the quality of the desserts and service the prices were very competitive.

During the tasting, she did a wonderful job asking questions to understand our overall vision and needs and had a lot of books and visual examples of what other people have done. In addition, we got to try a large variety of their desserts which was great because we ultimately decided to do a miniature dessert assortment and small cake for us to cut during the reception.

On wedding day, everything was delivered and setup on time and the dessert table looked amazing with all the bright colors, stands and signs. We received nothing but compliments from our guests about how the display looked and ultimately how delicious the desserts were. More...

Wish I would have got a better photo of the cake, the manager/owner (?) Was very nice and helpful in finalizing my order and payment. . she helped me order for a co-workers last minute event. My husband and I hired Cocoa & Fig for our wedding at Camrose Hill Flower Farm this September. We had a variety of mini cupcakes for our guests and they were fantastic. We received many, many compliments and it was a great alternative to a large cake, allowing for a variety of flavors. We were so happy with Cocoa and Fig! We had 6 mini desserts, and nearly all were eaten. Lauren and her crew were responsive and answered all our questions (and we were planning the wedding from NYC). We had a wonderful tasting. And the wedding day was beautiful! Everyone raved about the desserts. They were unique and the display was beautiful! We also had escort card apples pies on a stick - and they looked amazing! Everyone loved this touch and they were so delicious. One of our guests recently said she's trying to make desserts for her son's reception and she "hopes they look as beautiful as our desserts did." I cannot rave more about Cocoa & Fig!! Their desserts are not only delicious, but oh so beautiful!

Right from the start, Lauren was so easy to work with, responding to emails in a timely manner, meeting with us for a tasting, and answering all of our questions. When I needed to make changes to our dessert menu and add another layer to our cake, it was no problem at all.

On the wedding day, they come and decorate your dessert table to match the style and look of your wedding, one less thing for brides to stress about! Our naked cake was gorgeous (and delicious!) and we received compliment after compliment from our guests about the mini desserts, both on the wedding day and the weeks following.

I would recommend that you consider getting more desserts than you think you'll need; we had 705 dessert pieces (plus a three-tiered cake) for 235 guests and they were all gone, except for a few that my parents took home for us to enjoy the next morning. The great news is, they have retail shops in Minneapolis and Edina, so even after the wedding you can get your Cocoa & Fig craving satisfied.

I wish I lived closer to the bakery so we could get cupcakes and deserts all the time, I have dreams of their amazing cupcakes and cake! They were very flexible with us and easy to work with which was great because we live 5 hours from where we had our wedding. My guests loved the deserts so much and so did we! I was happy to have left overs to take home because they were just so delicious. We had a mix up on the delivery (we had them deliver to our hotel instead of reception site) but that was because the hotel stored the deserts for us instead of notifying us. Because of this we had a bit of a panic when we had to leave and hadn't heard about them being delivered but it got sorted out quick. We had cupcakes from Cocoa & Fig for my daughter's wedding reception, and they were fabulous! We had a variety of flavors, including a Tiramisu cupcake that was created just for us as it is the groom's favorite dessert! The cupcakes were beautifully arranged on a cupcake tower and included cards that matched the color scheme identifying the flavors. You'll never want any other cupcake. Cocoa & Fig's Sinfully Chocolate cupcake is THE best chocolate cupcake you may ever eat in your life. Please believe me: I live for sweets, I am a chocolate SNOB (will only order Vosges from Chicago), and I've tried a lot of desserts/places in the Twin Cities. I've tried other flavors and loved them too (Peanut Butter Bombe -- AWESOME, S'mores -- AWESOME), and although they are 100% perfect, it's hard to turn away from Sinfully Chocolate as it is beyond perfection. I've gotten the cake pops as gifts and were told they were wonderful, and have also tried the flourless chocolate cake which was rich, high-quality, and enjoyable, although not the best flourless cake I've ever had. Although expensive, the desserts provided by Cocoa & Fig were raved about all night. My husband and I knew their stuff was great, that's why we went straight to them for our wedding dessert. They were more than willing to create the kind of cake we wanted, as well as hundreds of French Macaron cookies that everyone kept going back for. They were delicious. We ended up ordering a traditional cake and having a small dessert table with some of their mini desserts, which are amazing (both beautiful and very tasty)! Cocoa and Fig is a great vendor for your wedding! They did an amazing job from start to finish! The tasting was fabulous, they really listened to our theme and incorporated great ideas to go with our color scheme, they consistently emailed you with any questions and verified everything before performing any work.
