I've suffered debilitating depression since I was a teenager, attempted suicide twice, and been on assorted medications for decades. I first met Rick over twenty years ago when we lived in the same neighborhood. We frequented the same coffeehouse. One day he approached me and asked if I was okay. He'd noted (been noting) my depressive demeanor. That led to a conversation that led to countless other conversations that I only later realized were de facto life coaching sessions. His empathy and intuition were off the charts. He listened, offered quiet counsel, and was patient as I stumbled through articulating my issues. He was better than the therapist I was then seeing; his insights & gentle but smart suggestions helped save my life -- I'm sure of that. Flash forward, and we've maintained a coach/student relationship I can lean into whenever I need additional support. Rick is now officially a life coach and I know he's helped countless others, and while the services of a life coach can be seen by some as a luxury item , I'm proof of how necessary those services can be, and how they can save lives.
