We went to CK's for brunch last Sunday. We were seated right behind the band. Unfortunately, it was soooo loud we couldn't talk. I suspect everyone in the restaurant felt that way. I had a cranberry mule slider drink served in an iced copper cup that was deliciously strong and flavorful. Then I had a cup of chowder that was also very tasty. My only suggestions there would be for the clam chowder to be just a wee bit thinner (chowders are not supposed to be so thick that they are almost pasty; they should be thinner with milk or cream.) The server should have stirred the pot quite a bit before putting the chowder in my cup, so it would have been a higher temperature. It was warm but not hot, and should be served hot. The flavor of clams was perfect even though is could have been just a bit thinner. With any kind of seafood, there is always a risk of added ingredients overpowering the seafood’s natural flavor. This came close but was still ok. I ordered 1 shrimp/prawn and 3 raw oysters that were all perfect. My entree was a lobster salad over a bed of arugula. My suggestion here would be to mix the arugula with butter lettuce, because after a while of eating straight arugula, the lobster flavor was overpowered by the peppery arugula. Great. Was there for lunch. Place was not full so noise wasn’t an issue. Great menu. Some of the best oysters around. Waitress was very nice, knowledgeable etc but we had to ask for silverware at each course. By no means would that keep me away. As always the clam chowder is the best on the North Shore. Service was prompt and our food was served hot. Good variety of menu options. Pros: Fried clams small and sweet, pork belly app amazing esp the grits, lobster carbonara incredible, housemade sorbet, all awesome. Cons: Tiny cup of chowder overpriced $7, octopus app was lackluster, sorbet was too frozen to eat right away. Nice setting on harbor marsh, and surprisingly good food for a menu with WAY too many choices (no way they can do that many things well). But bread and salads were good. Server was terrific, but bartender was a dud (zero personality) and hostess who met us was a 20-something airhead again with zero personality or interest in her job or the customers. Everything about the place is fantastic! The food (Amazing Brunch). The service is friendly and spot on. And, it has an incredible view of the marina, the Essex river, and salt marsh with the birds that inhabit or migrate through. A must try!!!

We usually love going to CK Pearls but this time it was packed and noisy. To be expected on a Saturday night in August! We sat on the screened porch which was full and loud. The the waitstaff was bustling back and forth to the deck area constantly which was disruptive. The farrow salad with salmon was outstanding! Friendly waitstaff and excellent service! Great portions! My friend had farrow with steak tips that she raved about. Really nice dining experience.
