I love the food here but every time I go I run into the same problem, understaffed. As busy as they get they don't hire more servers. It's a little disorganized, big orders don't always come out together, something is always left behind and then you wait even longer. More...

This place is amazing. It's in a food court, but the food is a very impressive collection of Yucatàn area food with Mayan, Spanish, and Lebonese/Mediterranean influences. It's definitely worth a try and will not break your bank. We went there earlier today and are already planning our next trip to LA just so we can eat at Chichen Itza again! It's that good. More...

I would move closer to your restaurant just so I could eat there more often. I bought these to go items: octopus tacos, scallop tacos, seafood stew, mixed seafood cocktail and stuffed peppers. I couldn't wait to get home and dig into my very own sampler. Each dish was sooo yummy and I would definitely walk a mile on ground glass to get more. More...

The Cochinita Pibil was as good as what I had in Cozumel. However, as for the Pollo Pibil, I prefer having it made with breast meat, which is the way I had it in Mexico. Please consider making a version like that. This is the only restaurant I know of in Los Angeles that serves this type of Mexican Food, which is my favorite. More...

Was introduced to this establishment by a successful Mexican business developer. I had their fish dish, which was grilled very very well. But the true standout was their horchata. I’ve been making a point to taste a horchata at every Mexican restaurant I’ve ever been to for over 7 years and Chichen Itza has the best. Starting from the color, to the grain and sweetness, to the price, I can say I’ve tasted the best horchata I’ve ever had in America. More...

Small portions. It's good, but if you want to get full you'll have to spend more money. Rice and beans are a la cart unless you get a meal, which isn't very filling. Plantains also sold separately.

This is a fabulous restaurant. I highly recommend visiting and trying some of the best food in Los Angeles. Chichen Itza specializes in Yucatecan food, and they do a great job of making it. Whether you want to take out or eat there, be sure to note that the seating is shared with other restaurants in the Mercado. They do have parking, be sure to get your ticket validated during business hours. More...
