Joel is a great trainer! I’ve been working with him for about 3 months and and he’s been instrumental in helping me create a healthier lifestyle. He not only focuses in on training but flexibility and diet as well! I hurt my hamstring back in October (2020) and Joel has given me specific workouts and stretches that have helped increase my range of motion. Joel has been my trainer for more than a year, and has trained my brothers for even longer. Not only is he a fantastic person who makes easy conversation, but he also has pushed me to a level of fitness and strength that I would not have believed in a year ago. Throughout this time, Joel has consistently changed workout routines while expertly explaining the targeted muscles in each individual workout, so that I have never been bored or restrained by monotony in my exercise. Throughout this time, however, when I have been injured from other physical activities, Joel has been completely understanding, helping me rehab from numerous ankle, back, and hip problems. So far in my fitness journey with him, I have lost over 25 pounds and consistently improved my max in different exercises, changed my diet to incorporate more protein to his advice, and gained a tangible excitement and desire to go to the gym. I have been working with Joel for over 12 years. I am 64 and a runner and have had problems with my SI joint over the years. Joel not only knows how to create a weight regime that compliments running but knows how to concentrate on stretching and strengthening the SI joint when it acts up. Joel is so personable and kind and open as a person that I have also felt very comfortable being open about many issues caused by menopause (joint pain, fatique, anxiety, etc. etc.) and working with him to ameliorate these symptoms with stretching, custom designed exercises etc. Joel's great strength is that he gets to know each person as an individual and tailors a fitness program to their specific needs. I worked with Joelle for over 3 months and was immediately impressed with his knowledge of the body and workout routine he put me through. He understood immediately how to attack my goals. Having been in sports like martial arts and basketball and having worked with other trainers I feel really good about Joelle and empowered by his workouts, especially his stretches! Which I feel a lot of trainers lack knowledge on, and can make a whole lot of difference. His anatomical knowledge is extremely important. Someone who understands the body and how it is connected can help you reach your desired goals. Joel is the best! My husband was going to him and bought me sessions because he was so helpful. Joel is super supportive, builds your confidence (even if you have never worked out before,) gets you trying new workouts that you wouldn’t try yourself, makes it interesting and challenging. Previously, I only worked with female trainers- Joel made me feel comfortable the entire time.
Highly recommend his services!

Joél is by far the best trainer I've ever worked with!  When I started working with him, I was suffering from pain as a result of a disc injury.  Unlike every other trainer and physical therapist I worked with, Joél took the time to listen to exactly what my issues were and build a program around those needs.  I made more progress in one month with him, than I did with three months of other programs.
Joél also has the rare ability to motivate without patronizing. One example: As a fat man, hearing "GREAT JOB!" is like nails down a chalkboard - I'm out of shape, so it was never a 'great job', but sometimes it WAS a step forward from last time.  Joél always made me feel rewarded for progress without any fake compliments, all while pushing me farther each session.
Also, some sessions I performed terribly (as all people do occasionally) and when that happened, he adapted the session to stretching, exercises to relieve muscle tension...basically, he made sure that all the time in our sessions was well spent and never a waste, even when I wasn't able to perform the way I should have.
I'll miss our in-person sessions in NYC, but I'm still doing remote sessions over FaceTime.  Anything remote is never as good as in-person, but Joél absolutely pulls it off and is still able to direct me when I'm in the wrong position, need to adjust movements, etc.
If there was a rating higher than five stars, I'd give it.

What makes Joel unique and effective as a trainer is his creativity, communication, and outside the box approach to fitness. I trust him with my body both to make it better and keep it safe. He does his research and designs the workouts to target my specific weaknesses and challenge my strengths. Everything has a purpose and I always feel guided. Where do I begin.... I remember feeling like I needed to make a change in my life and working out was definitely not a priority for me, but I was just uncomfortable with myself and my body.

I wanted a trainer so I could work through those insecurities, and ultimately be and feel comfortable in my own skin. Whether it was divine timing or coincidence, intuitively I felt that I should train with Joel.

A full year later, I am glad I made that decision as I not only trained with someone who really cared for my own personal well-being but also I found a friend in the process who helped me mature both psychologically and in a way spiritually through the process of learning more about my own body.

Joel is not your typical trainer who will leave you feeling dry with little to no interaction, just there to collect some pay. Quite the opposite, he will help you reach your own personal goals, and keep you motivated through your journey, but you will find yourself with someone who is truly passionate in his field and a supportive friend/trainer who really does care for his clientele.

I could not have made a better decision, and to this day, I still remember our sessions and cherish them!

Hire this man, he's worth your time and money.
