C.C.’s Photo Booth Rentals

As you are aware, I contracted CC's Digital Photo Booth Rentals to come to my wife's 40th birthday party on January 27, 2024 at the Co-Balt Event space in Hampden (Baltimore City) from 8pm-11pm for your photo booth services.

I provided you with a signed contract on January 8, 2024 and a deposit for $275 on January 13, 2024 via Apple Cash to 719-778-9315. Via the contract I provided the address of the venue, my contact information, start/end times, and a note that there are "both stairs and an elevator" at the venue.

No where in the contract does it state I need to provide a parking spot. It states "Parking fees for at least one of CC's DIGITAL PHOTO BOOTH RENTALS' vehicle shall be paid upon receipt given to the undersigned if REASONABLE parking is not available during the time of the event."

Once the contract was signed we began communicating via text about various aspects of the party including the deposit and design templates for the event. I sent you pictures of not only the invitation but the party space as well. At no time did you mention anything about having a disability or steps being an issue (not that they were, there was an elevator). Nor did you mention anything about parking or request information about unloading your equipment.

Then on January 27, 2024 at 7:00pm I received a text from you stating "I'm less than 10 minutes from the location."
You- 7:05pm "Where is Parking"
Me- 7:15pm "You can park in the alley behind the church to unload"
You- 7:19pm "The contract states you have to provide adequate parking" (which was not true)
You- 7:22pm you sent a few other texts that were about having a disability and that you could not carry things up or down steps.
Me- 7:22pm- I tried calling you several times, with no answer and texted you to "Please call me." I had a staff of people who were available to help you carry whatever you needed to have carried and one of them could have showed you the parking spot available for unloading/loading.
Me- 7:27pm- continue calling you several times with no answer
You- 7:33pm- You canceled via text to me. No phone call, just a very cold unempathetic text filled with inaccuracies.
Me- 7:38pm- After myself and my distraught wife called you several times with no answer, I texted you again that "there is an entry at the back of the building and parking and there is an elevator" and then "Please answer my call."

I have documented all of these text messages and phone calls, as well as my wife has documented all of the phone calls she also made to you. I also have a dozen eyewitnesses.

My wife's 40th birthday was a very special occasion, one that was meant to be filled with joy and celebration. The most important activity of the night for her was the photo booth. We spent over $100 on a customized banner (which you knew about and received pictures of) and we were excited to have you provide a quality photo booth experience with printed photos. Rather than her starting her party off excited and happy to see all of the work and love that we all put into the event, it was overshadowed by the experience of working with you which left her, and all of us, understandably very upset.

There was parking available both short term and long term for the evening. Had you contacted me prior to the event, or just simply answered your phone for the several calls my wife and I placed, we could have talked it through. Between 7pm-7:45pm, I had 4 other vendors arrive at the event to unload/set up, received several deliveries, and several other cars of helpers arrived whom all had to deal with the same variables as you. Hampden is a very busy area, especially on the weekends, and there is only paid street parking or valet parking available.

Your communication in general has been very unprofessional, snarky at times, lack of empathy or helpfulness, but I continued working with you hoping to help a small business person. Unfortunately for me and more importantly my wife, that was a mistake considering how you handled the situation on Saturday night.

I would appreciate a refund of my deposit via Apple Cash. You have been unresponsive to texts, calls, and emails since January 27th. More...
