Sad that this location is closing. a little tight inside, but fast service and very good burgers. Sweet tea was great and overall, would definitely come back again.

Arrived just before noon, became very busy there after. The order and drink area is very cramped and hard to navigate.. had a draft beer, could have been a lot colder. The food was great! Way more than I could eat. There was not problem with our little beagles being below a chair and sharing some of my burger. If you are brining you dog must be well behaved and I suggest you bring your own water bowl and water as they do not provide. More...

Cool spot! Very laid back with a fun vibe. A classic burger joint with lots of great sounding burger creations and RVA style. The dude taking the orders, Ryan, was hilarious and definitely added to the experience. 1/3rd pound or better burgers hit the spot. I had the lakeside burger, a burger topped with pulled pork bbq, fried pickles, and onion straws...only thing I think would have been better about it was if it came with lettuce and tomato...I'm sure you could add that tho. Check it out! More...

I ate here for the first time last night and I'll definitely go back. The food was excellent and the prices are reasonable. You also won't leave hungry. The burgers are huge. I highly recommend this place. More...

Great burgers! Well seasoned and crunchy fries. No greasy buns or fries here. Fried pickles and Mac bites are awesome too.

Overall it’s a good place for burgers. I liked the seating area. There are plenty of free parking spots available in front of the restaurant. I ordered Philadelphia burger + fries. The burger was okay but not impressive. However I enjoyed the fries. I think the drawback is the huge bread which comes with the burger. It is too much and I guess they want to feed people with the bread not the meat. More...

I cannot stress how amazing the food here is! Sometimes you think to yourself, "how much better quality can a cheeseburger really get? " But Carytown Burgers and Fries shows me that a REALLY good burger is worth the price! Not to mention the size of them, I definitely leave there feeling like I probably ate a little tooo much, but it's always worth it! The tater tots were browned and crisped to perfection, and every burger I've gotten (ever portobello cap) has been juicy yet cooked perfectly. This location is definitely a guilty pleasure. Not to mention you can get a five dollar shake here. For the joke of running with Pulp Fiction, I decided to try a chocolate shake one dinner, and gotta say, I was not disappointed! More...

Burgers! Their burgers are phenomenal, the tots are crispy, the sweet potato fries are just the right salty, the tap selection paired well with the grub. ..All so good! Be prepared to hang with your friends because there may be a bit of a wait for the food but so worth it! We played MadLibs while sitting in an enclosed outdoor patio with cozy heat lamps, great atmosphere, great food, highly recommended! More...

Great burgers. Everything is made to order and tastes fresh. The staff is also super friendly. It's a bummer that they are being forced out of their location in Careytown.

Even if you're not vegan, the vegan burger is amazing!!! Delicious and fresh ingredients! This location confused me a bit the first time I went. Once you order, you go beyond to the steps, (to the left, to the left) and go up the left. They bring the food to you, which I wasn't certain about either at first given the layout of the joint. Super awesome location with great history and super delicious food. More...

Nice local hamburger joint. Restaurants are very down to earth, dive-ish decor that make them a true burger joint. They also serve vegetarian options and milkshakes! Carytown location has a covered backyard BBQ style space that can be used year round. It is heated in the winter. Definitely a Richmond experience must try. More...

Great food. Incredible selection of cheese for the burgers and great customer service throughout all my visits and orders. And if you want a bacon cheeseburger that has a TON of bacon on it. Yeah, you found the right place. More...

My father and I come up to lobby Day at the Virginia Assembly every year for the past 7 years and always find ourselves back at Carrytown Burgers & Fries. The food is amazing and the ambience is very nice. I can never finish the whole burger and fries. The portions are fantastic not sure how anyone could complain and the quality of the food is perfection to it's finest. The staff is always very friendly and happy to serve. Please keep up the great work you guys do! See you next year. More...

Currently at Carytown Burgers and Fries. The vibe kind pf reminds me of a old school deli or something. They have seating upstairs and outside, kind of a smaller place. Theres a TV in the upstairs seating area. Not too busy at lunchtime on Saturday (when i arrived) which is a good thing. Now the food...very good classic food! I kept it simple with a cheeseburger and fries. I can tell they were freshly made, a good portion of fries. Very good solid food, in a nice tucked away spot in Carytown. Id certainly come back.
