Capital City Catering

Last night we had some amazing food from Capital City Catering at our Christmas party.  As good as the food was the caterers, Mandy and Zach were even better.  The attention to detail and presentation was incredible.  Everything was wonderful and I was impressed by how hard they worked to make sure I didn't have to do a thing or worry about it being done correctly.  When they left my house was just as it was before.  I look forward to asking for Zach and Mandy for our party next year.  They were awesome! Capital City Catering was absolutely fabulous for our wedding in April 2018. LeeAnn was great to work with (she mainly worked with my wedding coordinator), she got everything done and it was perfect for that day even after all the changes I wanted in only a couple weeks before the wedding. We went with stations for our buffet style food and had the amazing onion dip, chicken tenders, carved beef, shrimp and grits, as well as other sides such as mac and cheese, fingerling potatoes, and green beans. We have not stopped getting compliments on how our food was the best food anyone has ever had at a wedding before. (I keep getting the question "where in Columbia can we go to get this food at a restaurant") And everyone talked about how there were no lines or backup and the food was super easy to get to. Capital City catered our December brunch wedding reception. The food was a big hit! My husband keeps reminiscing about the chicken and waffles and family keeps asking us if there are any more chocolate spoons. .. The menu was very detail oriented and delicious!

LeeAnn was also great to work with! She provided many creative ideas such as "his and hers" donut favors for our guests, a monogramed coffee sleeve stamp, and more. As an only child, wedding planning was totally new to myself and my family, and LeeAnn walked us through the typical order of a reception, possible reception layout at our venue, and was in general very helpful in answering our questions. We hired Capital City Catering a month before our wedding, after our first two caterers fell through. LeeAnne was incredibly responsive and more than willing to work with us to find a menu and price point that worked for us. They helped make sure that we got food during the reception and then crammed a few containers full of food for us to take with us on the honeymoon. I heard some rave reviews about the food and enjoyed it myself! We noticed the chicken was a little dry after a day or two, but otherwise it was fantastic. Capital City Catering did an exceptional job catering our wedding. All of the food displays were lovely to look at and the food was delicious as well. They like to work with their couples to make food that is unique to them if possible, and for us, they added bacon to their pimento cheese bites as a nod to my husband's love of a bacon and pimento cheese sandwich. Guests raved about them all night, and to this day, months and months later, people still talk about how good they were and how they have even tried to recreate them! Definitely a food that left a lasting impression. Capital City also packed to-go boxes for us to take when we left our reception, which was so wonderful since we didn't get to eat much at all at the reception itself. Easily the highlight of my wedding! When we met with LeeAnne, we immediately knew we had to hire them. She was so easy to work with and helped us come up with amazing ideas for a Southern menu with an Asian flair! She also arranged linen rentals, lounge furniture, bar, and gave us a floorplan for 701 Whaley. All night guests were coming up to me commenting on how incredible the food was! Capital City did my rehearsal dinner and reception! The food at both were each delicious! They are so creative with set up and the displays. People are still talking about how great our food was months ago! I highly recommend them. They are also very creative with making each menu and event different from one another...definitely not cookie cutter menus. I'm sure they have their staples, but we had a particular idea to bring in our different cultures and they were so excited to see what we all together could come up with for our ideal reception. I loved working with Leigh Anne and everyone at Capital City Catering!! We met with her about a year out to discuss the numerous options for our reception and she helped us to create an amazing menu! ! I had MANY people at my reception tell me that the food was the best they had ever had at a wedding reception! We also used Capital City for our bar services, and they helped us to create a cotton candy martini that was out of this world and FUN!! Capital City Catering was PERFECT! Everyone couldn't believe how good the food was since we didn't have a seated meal. Not only was the food amazing, but the display was absolutely gorgeous! My favorite part was the Palmetto tree made out of fruit - unbelievable! Also, they had our banana pudding in small martini glasses - such a sophisticated and cute touch! Everything was done with care and there was plenty of food for us to take with us when we left. The shrimp & grits was, hands down, the best I've EVER had and plenty of our guests would agree. Wonderful caterer! Food was delicious and all the guests were very impressed. They did a remarkable job with the presentation of the food and they never got in the way. We were able to pick out exactly what we wanted served and we did a tasting a few months before the wedding.
