One of the best Mexican food I have had so far. The place is very clean and they are consistent with the taste. I really like the Pork tacos. The meat filling is good and there is a wall of spices to choose from to top it up with different kinds of spices. The prices are reasonable and are equivalent to authentic Mexican food trucks. We had California Tortilla cater a dinner for 18 last week and it was outstanding. Easy to work with, delivered everything we needed (plates, silverware, napkins, serving spoons, etc. ) and good was hot and ready to eat upon arrival. We enjoy this California Tortilla in Oakton. We use our Elito Burrito card. Cozy atmosphere and good food. Might want to consider redoing the booths and tables as they are a bit worn.

Let me start by saying that this place is really good not just in terms of food but customer service. I walk in and was greeted at the door by the manager or the owner. Then I put in my order for a barbecue chicken quesadilla and waited for a little bit for it to get done. While I was waiting I looked at the wall and they had a wall with just got sauce. Over 50 different types of hot sauce. I was amazed. I tried the tiger sauce from it and it was amazing. I then got my quesadilla and before I was leaving the manager and the owner gave me chocolates the way out. He was so nice and polite. I then got home and tried it and thought it wasn't going to fill be up since it looked kind of small but it was bigger than I thought. I got it and ate it with the tiger sauce and the sour cream and salsa that I got for no additional charge and it was honestly really really good and filling and at the end the piece of chocolate that I got. On par with competition. I visited this location to satisfy late-afternoon cravings for Tex-mex goodies. The place welcomes you with late 90's rock and warm summer colors - not bad for an afternoon setting. I ordered the bbq chicken burrito. I appreciated how the black beans and veggies were well distributed, but needs more protein! For an $8 entree it's about average in taste and portion size to other tex-mex places. This was my first time visiting this franchise and I was not disappointed! I was craving Mexican food but something with a bite and the Korean bbq bowl that I got totally hit the spot. It came with rice, fajita veggies, sweet and spicy Korean bbq sauce, slaw, sriracha and pork. Everything was great but the pork was definitely the best! The entire dish was really flavorful and for sure gave me that spice that I wanted. My fiancé had the California sunset bowl (which seems to be their staple) - I tried a bite of it and liked that as well.I would say California Tortilla is similar to a Panera in that you place your order at the counter, grab a table, and they'll call your name when your food is ready. The restaurant was pretty crowded when we went but our food was still prepared quickly. This was perfect for us because we didn't have too much time on our hands and wanted a speedy lunch. My favorite part was the "Wall of Flame" which has shelves upon shelves of hot sauce bottles! From mild to "mouth on fire" hot, they've got every kind you can imagine and you're free to grab as many as you want to test out and add to your meal! I love this fun and unique concept!My only complaint was the portion size. Both of the bowls we got seemed a little small compared to the  bowls you would get at any other fast-casual spot. I haven't been by a CalTort in years. I had some time to kill between appointments and decided to dine in. I chose a steak quesadilla. I take for granted how Qdoba seems the only place to include free guac but the pico and sour cream were adequate. I keep forgetting that it is like a barbecue sauce coating the meat. Seems a little strange and I forgot to ask without. It was okay but a slippery mess. If I knew how messy it was going to be I may have just gone for street tacos instead. Maybe next time. More...

I have driven past this restaurant many time, but decided to take my girlfriend in and have salad for lunch.   Very clean, quick service, a coke machine that lets yo choose among what must be 100 options, and a low price -- good combination. What impressed us the most was the owner (Ken?)  who chased us down with a happy word and bowl of candy to finish off the meal -- Made the whole stop by fun.  They have a fountain with kids playinig it, which also added to the enjoyment.We will be back!!! I enjoy the food and hot sauce selections. May I please suggest considering a different way of announcing food orders. Multiple occasions it is not clear the name that is being announced and have had someone take my order or vice versa. Even when I ask the worker who announced the name if it was 'Alex' for example and then they say no, a different name... only to a minute later call me over and say yes this is yours... I can't be the only one this happens to and it's worse when it's crowded. They really need to be clear loud and pronounce the names clearly. Some other options- Write the name on the bag. Use numbers instead. Include a number that goes on the bag, tape the ticket to the bag... More...

Outstanding friendly service! These owners and employees go the extra mile to make guests feel welcome!  I love the salads here when I have time for a lunch break. I am writing an update because this place deserves it, and they have stepped up greatly.  Today I went in and got the Cubano Bowl. The young man at the register was super nice and professional,  this counts even more because the customer in fromt of me was flat out rude to him for no reason at all. I came back to finally give this restaurant the 5 stars it has already earned in such a short period of time since being under new management. Every one is so friendly, the food tastes yummy, the portions are spot on and it has taken a complete turn for the better since the previous management. If there is something wrong it is corrected right away and it does not take forever to get food which is so much appreciated when having to go back to work quickly.
