I looked a lot for someone to make a cake that stands out and tastes great for a birthday. I came in from out of town and decided on going with Cake Gourmet Sugar Service. I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED! The cake looked amazing so much so that it pained all of us to cut it up and eat it that night. The cake was unreal and so good. I initially was going with different company who was going to make my desert table, but last minute she increased all the prices on me. I got mad and started my search on yelp. I found Cake Gourmet and after reading all the positive reviews gave her a call. EV got back to me so fast. She texted me and gave me quotes right away and she is so reasonable. I live far and my event was in LA, so we did everything remotely. After talking to her I knew she was the one. She took the time to talk to me and answered all my questions. As we  were planning our wedding, we wanted to have a cake designed consistent with our "understated but elegant" theme.  Our colors were silver and steel blue which we knew would be a little tricky for cake decorators.  Additionally, we wanted to make sure the cake was organic, handmade, and most importantly, delicious.  We also wanted a vendor that had customer service as a core quality.  Are they good with following up? Are they reliable? In short Cake Gourmet Sugar Service checked ALL these boxes. Owner and Operator, EV actually came to our home with samples of each cake flavor.  I repeat...came to our home!!! From the moment we met her, we knew we were going to be in great hands. She walked us through her design process and her baking philosophy.  Her follow up was impeccable.  Having someone like EV on board your catering/planning team is a godsend.  It frees you up to not stress about a major component of your wedding or event so you can focus on other issues as they arise. On the day of...we saw the actual product.  Not only did it exceed our expectations, but the CGSS team created a cake that attended to expectations we didn't even know we wanted. I'm maid of honor in a wedding and just threw the Bridal Luncheon at the Peninsula Hotel. Truthfully I was already towards the high end of my budget but had met the owner EV from a friend of a friend and knew her desserts were INCREDIBLE. So I decided to have her make a dessert goodie bag for all the guests to take home. I cannot tell you enough how glad I am. No exaggeration, it was quite possibly the highlight of the day! Even the Director of Catering for the hotel came in and asked for her info after seeing EV's creation saying she had never seen anything like it before. EV is an artist! I was referred to them by a friend. I called on a Monday for a Saturday 16th birthday party. Even though they require a one week notice EV took the time to speak to me then we did a conference call so we could speak to my daughter and see what she wanted! These days it's so rare to see some one give you this level of Costumer service! Wait, the best part is when I saw the cake and the cake pops and macaroons! EV and her team (most communication was with Tess) were outstanding to work with!! They answered all of my questions very quickly and were very very accommodating. When we got to meet EV in person for a taste test, she was one of the friendliest people I've ever met. Her presentation was great and explained everything and helped us decide which flavors go with what. It was really hard to decide which flavors to go with since EVERYTHING tasted heavenly. I usually hate chocolate but her chocolate was AMAZING and a big contender for us too. We ended up ordering vanilla and lemon cupcakes for our wedding and everyone LOVED them.EV and her team definitely will not disappoint you. Words cannot accurately describe how amazing EV and her company are. A very close friend threw a very elaborate themed birthday party for her 7 yr old granddaughter and I wanted to get her something special - I was referred to EV and she immediately knew what to make. With very little guidance, she made one of the most exquisite birthday cakes I've ever seen. She was the talk of the party- I honestly think she redefined the meaning of custom cakes for many at the party, and this family throws a lot of parties! Cake Gourmet is one of the best companies I've ever had the pleasure to work with. I ordered a bunch of delicious goodies for my clients as a Thank You gift, and it was a smashing hit. My clients loved not only the presentation and packaging but how delicious they were. A win win for the gifter and the receivers. Ev and her team are amazing. My grilfriend recommend Cake Gourmet Sugar Service for my wedding and I have to say my donut wall/ dessert bar was hit. Everyone raved about it. Cake Gourmet Sugar Services was the perfect bakery for our wedding cake! Would highly recommend to anyone needing some gourmet sugar services! From start to finish it was an amazing experience and I can't stop recommending them to people. During our cake tasting time we tried 5 other bakeries and Cake Gourmet Sugar Services was the best of them all! The tasting experience alone was amazing...we got to have some of our friends and family there to enjoy it with us and our own location. The tasting cakes were beautifully displayed and it was so hard to choose as they were all amazing! We ultimately went with  a champagne with a fruit whip (huge hit) and a marble cake with a mocha whip. They were very accommodating and made any adjustments or tweaks to the flavor combos that we wanted. Now for the actual cake...we were amazed! It was exactly what we wanted....beautifully elegant and simple. Modern black white and gold aesthetic with some greenery spread throughout. It was beautiful and exactly what we wanted. I can honestly say the incredible delicious flavor matches the beautiful presentation on the outside. We couldn't be happier with the end result and the entire experience. Literally obsessed. First off EV is amazing. We found her through Instagram and contacted her for our wedding. She came to our house with different flavors of cupcakes (that would be cakes) to do the tasting and walk us through how she makes them and all the ingredients from scratch. Everything is incredible. My number 1 is the carrot cake for sure. I had probably 6 cake tastings and hers were my favorite, hands down. I'll be using EVs cakes for any and all events for the foreseeable future!!! Eva was awesome and professional to work with from beginning to the end. Weddings are hard to plan, but figuring out our wedding cake was one of the best and easiest parts. When she came to give a cupcake taste test to us, it was definitely hard to choose because they all tasted so good. I can not say enough about the cake and service we got with E.V. From the tasting to the wedding day we fell in love with her and her cakes. Our wedding cake was not only the best we've ever eaten, but she designed it perfectly. The additional treats we had along with our cake were outstanding too. The cheesecake bites and mini cupcakes were to die for and a total hit at the wedding. I used this company for my som's wedding. I live in Chicago, and the wedding was in Malibu.  I gave the owner, EV Cassidy, some ideas as to the theme of the wedding and color scheme; however we never saw drawings or tasted anything prior to the wedding day.  I left it all to her expertise.  The wedding cake and sweet table were absolutely beautiful!  I never envisioned it looking so gorgeous.  Even though I don't like pictures of sweets, it was a picture that was a "must take."  Not only were the sweets and cake artistically displayed and enticing, they all tasted absolutely delicious and incredibly yummy.  The guests were raving about it all night, and it was definitely a focal point of the wedding.  I would not hesitate to use this company again.  Their set up was organized, expeditious, and unobtrusive.  EV Cassidy was a pleasure to deal with from start to finish and was professional and responsive.  She knew the sweets that were the crowd pleasers and the exact number of each item to display on the table.  I cannot rave enough about this company.  Ev Cassidy is truly an expert in the industry of cakes, sweets and displays!! I had a wonderful experience working with Eva. I ordered a custom cake and cookies for my daughter's 10th birthday party. Eva was so professional when planning . She asked the theme, and sent some photos  in advance of examples I might like. She delivered all items to me on time and was so sweet and lovely to work with. The cake was beautiful! I have had the pleasure of using Cake Gourmet Sugar Service twice. The first time was for my wedding! Eva was so accommodating and professional.  She worked with the ideas I had and came up with the most beautiful and delicious dessert bar I have every seen! From the peach fritters to coconut truffles and pistachio macarons...everything was so yummy!! She even packed up and sent us home with the leftovers at the end of the night which we really enjoyed. When my husband and I started planning our wedding, I wanted to have the best of both worlds: a theme that fit him and all the glamour in the world possible that fit me. I am generally not a cake person, as most tend to be very dry, so my husband and I agreed that we would have cupcakes. Surprisingly, it was a little difficult for us to find a baker within our budget who had stellar reviews. I found Cake Gourmet online and after messaging her some we decided on an in-home tasting and I literally could have cried with how delicious everything was. I was sold from the first bite.I had 2 Cupcake Towers: 50 Chocolate and 50 Banana cupcakes (both with Banana/Walnut and Whipped Cream Filling). Eva is amazing! My husband and I found her while trying to identify a baker for our wedding cake. We were only planning to have 12 people at our wedding, but I still wanted to have a 2 tier cake. Eva was great! She came to OUR house to do a house tasting! It was so much more intimate vs. going to a storefront. She took notes on what I wanted, we talked about the size of the cake and of course the flavors! I am not one to like fondant, so I shied away from it a bit, but Eva assured me that she had the perfect fix for the look I wanted and the flavor I wasn't a fan of. She made marshmallow fondant. AMAZING! The cake turned out beautiful and I still to this day get compliments on the cake. We got the yellow sponge with cookies and cream icing. Seriously guys -- she's incredible! Let me start my review by saying that my simple words will probably not give justice to the exceptional service and marvelous desserts that I have experienced working with Ev. From the first moment I contacted her to schedule a wedding cake consultation, I could feel her excitement and passion for her talent.While she was scheduling our consultation, I was so nervous about what flavors and combinations I wanted to try. She offered her personal & customer favorites and reassured me that I wouldn't be disappointed. Nothing could have prepared me for the most  incredible combination of flavors. My fiance (now dear husband) doesn't have much of a sweet tooth and even he was amazed by her cake. We knew right at that moment that we had found our baker.  It was all set. Well, as luck would have it, with 1 week till the wedding, we had a change in our original #of guest.I had to contact Ev and ask if there was any way to add another tier to our cake.  "Of course, no problem." she says. I honestly wouldn't think twice about NOT ordering with Eva.  We hired her for our wedding in September of 2016 and she did not disappoint us.  First off the tastings were ahhhmazing!  She's super sweet and professional, but to top it all of her desserts are out of this world!  She drove all the way to us (which was far for her), and had the most impressive tasting.  For the actual day of they were prompt to set up.  I did not have to worry about my dessert stand, because everything that was agreed upon was done.  So thank you for taking that stress off of me.  Everyone at the wedding LOVED the desserts.  The cake was so moist and yummy.  The design of the cake exceeded my expectations.  It was perfect.  We had different layers and chose different flavors for each layer.  I can't remember which ones we went with, I just remember that it was almost impossible to pick a flavor because they were all so wonderful.  It's obvious Eva loves her craft and its apparent in her flavor profiles.  I can't wait to hire her for our next event.  Thanks again Eva! When my now-husband and I first began the wedding planning process, we wanted to ensure the food at our wedding was top-notch - including our desserts. I wanted cupcakes on a tower and a small 6-inch cake to cut. My husband and I did a cupcake tasting with more than a few different vendors and the cupcakes were just...ehhh. We found Eva via thumbtack and saw her amazing reviews, so we set up a tasting. My husband and I are not crazy about overly sweet desserts, so we asked her if she could make more vegetable geared cupcakes and they were OUT. OF. THIS. WORLD!!! For our tasting she brought us 6 each to try and an extra 6 so we could try them later that evening! So delicious and moist. She even added one of our custom request to her permanent menu. Eva is so sweet and is a small business owner, so I felt much better about giving her my business rather than "the big guys." In fact, we hired her to also do all the cupcakes for my bridal shower. On our big day, the cupcake tower looked AWESOME and of course the cupcakes did not disappoint...we got rave reviews from all of our guests!
