About

Hi, I’m JB, a creative and inspired marketer with global experience in higher education, digital media + graphic design in both in-house and agency settings. My work in the marketing field has [officially] been for the last eight+ years, but my passion for graphic design and a solopreneur mindset has spanned for decades.

Q&As

Before I let the creativity flow, I always make sure I have a clear understanding of who the client is and what they expect for outcomes of not only the materials requested but the working relationship in general. Once that happens, the creative process flows by itself and is never the same for two projects/clients.

The 5 Ws: who, what, when, where, and why. It's important to understand who your target audience is and why/how something is going to be used before actually creating it.

I love that every project/client brings a completely fresh perspective to expand my creativity. Building relationships and a network with other small businesses, entrepreneurs and freelancers has been quite a benefit of my job as well.

I enjoy the flexibility of having my own business. While there is greater risk, there is also greater reward.

The best way to solve a problem is to examine all the solutions. Let’s talk. The first hour is on me, and then you can decide if Bright Thoughts is the answer you’ve been looking for to solve your marketing + design problems. I'm always very transparent and honest with my clients; I like to make sure that both parties enter the working partnership with clear expectations/outcomes. Also, I never settle for mediocre. I would never submit something to a client just for the sake of making a sale if I didn't full stand behind my work.
