Wow! My husband and I had an amazing time during our couples portrait shoot with Brian! He was professional, flexible, and definitely catered towards what we were looking for. We’ve had the pleasure of knowing Brian for many years now, but this was our first time engaging him as a professional. Brian is a kind, creative and thoughtful individual (with the appropriate splash of humor), and, much to the delight of my wife and I, he’s managed to replicate all those admirable characteristics with his photography. We asked Brian to capture our little one at the Underwood Garden, next to the College of Architecture, Planning and Landscape Architecture at the University of Arizona; a place we’re intimately familiar with, though quite foreign to Brian. That said, he arrived early and gained a quick understanding of his environment and ultimately found the locations that best highlighted Alice and her interactions with her surroundings.He found, what we felt was, the perfect balance in engaging my wife and I, allowing us to voice our opinions and suggestions, while guiding us with his professional expertise. Whether we were encouraging our little one to smile, or interacting with her, we felt like we were very much a part of the process. His approach was one of collaboration, not imposition. In each location, he managed to find unique and creative ways to frame the setting, address the lighting, and capture the moment; moments that often passed in a heartbeat.We’re so very happy to have had the opportunity to work with Brian on this photoshoot. Let's be honest, being in front of a camera can be quite uncomfortable - but not with Brian! He was so easy going it made taking the pictures actually enjoyable and this came through in the moments he captured. He also managed to keep our 7 month old happy and engaged for the whole time! On top of that, he was very professional, he had his equipment set up before we got there which made all the difference with being able to capitalize on the time when our little one was in a good mood. Having family in Tucson means not getting enough time together & no photos. So living in Idaho, I did the only thing I could think of . .. Check Facebook. Then, Brian's name came up, I sent the request & had a response within an hour. I knew we had our photographer. He was patient, kind and willing to drive a long distance just to help me out. Last minute family photos got taken. And, when I got the proofs, my heart skipped a beat. They were exactly what I had asked for. Now, I can't make up my mind to choose a favorite. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Brian. He took our son, Reed's, senior pictures and they turned out beautifully--better than we could have imagined. There were so many beautiful shots to choose from as we decided on Reed's senior picture and graduation announcements. Brian captured Reed perfectly. He went more than the extra mile to get the best shots. Reed is a rock climber, and Brian traveled to Mount Lemmon for one of the shoots. He climbed through plants and over crevasses to get photos of Reed in his element. Crazy good! Brian's gentle demeanor quickly had Reed feeling relaxed and shining for the camera! By far the best photographer we've worked with, and a master at his craft. Brian took our shots in the beautiful hills of Pusch Ridge in Tucson where I grew up months before we got married. He knew when lighting would be best, and took us to the right spots. He drew us out, made us laugh, knew exactly where to go, and gave us a ton of artistic ideas on how to work with him and the camera to look natural and fun. He captured everything we wanted as an engaged couple excited to get married. He has a ton of positive energy and was very patient with us as we got more comfortable in front of the camera.
