I really wanted to love this place. I had high hopes walking in. We were seated immediately and our waitress was very attentive. Their menu has a nice selection.I had my all-time fav deli sandwich- pastrami and chopped liver on rye with Russian dressing. The rye and chopped liver were good. The pastrami was too fatty to be really enjoyable. I only ate half the sandwich.My son got a cheeseburger that he didn't like at all.Oh well. More...

In town for a training class and I needed something and quick for lunch. Trusty Yelp sent me this direction to Boychiks Deli. I had the lunch special, grilled ham n swiss cheese on rye, came with french fries and a pickle spear. The food was great, the fries were amazing. The ordering process was a bit confusing for a first timer, at first ( i should have ordered online), but the Boychik service person behind the counter guided me through the process. Plan to go back today and test out some different items.Thank YouJonny E, your employees behind the counter at the cash register did an awesome job and setting me straight. There were customers lined up by the cash register, but not ordering or making a payment. Im pretty sure they were waiting for carryout order, possibly. Me being a first timer, I stood for about 10 minutes at the end of what I thought was a line. Turns out it was not a line, just waiting for food. I wasn't being critical, just wasted 10 minutes of my 30 minute lunch break. No worries and Thank You for the response back to my review. Next time Im in town, ill look you up. I was excited to try this place after hearing good news. I'm a huge fan of Padow's (same shopping center) and have been for years, but I decided to show some love to somewhere new. I definitely regretted wasting my lunch break and paying more money at this place. I bumped up a star from 1 to 2 only because the workers were friendly, so props to the friendly service, but unfortunately the kitchen is where things must've gone wrong, as the lady up front read my order back to me perfectly and I heard her call it out correctly to the kitchen as well. I ordered a veggie & cheese sub, but I was pretty hungry and needed a little extra protein, so I asked to add extra cheese (2 different kinds), I also added jalapeños. I was given my total and the charge was $2 extra (not including tax) than the menu listed, but I assumed it was because of my add-ons, which makes sense to me so I paid without questioning it.Upon getting to my destination, I at first thought the sub was huge (which made me feel a little better for having paid $11 for it..) but upon opening it up and a closer look, it was only huge due to the insane amount of lettuce they put on it.. (see photo) I then looked at what else was on it, and came to find a HALF a slice of american and a HALF a slice of pepper Jack cheese and that's it.. but don't forget I paid extra for extra cheese. There were also only 4 total jalapeño slices (which I may have paid for? unless I only paid for extra cheese?)Pictures for proof -- I won't return. Sunday 11/7/2111:30amMy first time here at Boychiks Deli. I was wanting a Ruben so I thought I'd try this place out. Upon arrival I noticed how crowded they were so I opted to get a takeout order. I ordered my Ruben only to find out they were out of corn beef. Just my luck. However, a few customers mentioned that The pastrami Reuben was just as good. So I agreed to get that. I also ordered some potato pancakes. Customer service was really good. The wait wasn't too bad. The Pastrami Ruben- a little soggy due to the Sauerkraut not being drained enough. Potato pancakes- disappointed. These were not was I was anticipating. From initial appearance they were gorgeous. But when I took a bite I was thrown off that there was shredded potatoes on the inside. I'm not a fan of shredded potatoes on anything. I expected them to be mashed. How do some employees make customers Raving Fans?Why do some servers make the food taste better and make you feel happier than you were when you walked in the restaurant? What makes someone write about an employee on a Facebook post or in a survey?Let me tell you about Sanchez. She's worked at Boychick's for many years. All of the servers there are stellar but Sanchez stands out. When she meets you for the first time, she looks you in the eye like you are about to be welcomed into a special club. She has a warm smile and a bubbly, confident air. She remembers everything you ordered and anticipates your every need. Your coffee cup is always full. You never have to look up for want of anything. She's already got it covered. She makes you feel special and lucky that she is serving you. And she always introduces herself: "My name is Sanchez". (Like we could forget.)And every time we go back, she quickly remembers what we like to eat and drink no matter how long it's been. Today she carried our three large iced drinks and a hot coffee to us with her bare hands without spilling a drop and gracefully served us. (She's the only one that remembers that Rick orders water too.) She listens closely. She is proud of how good she is. She is the DIFFERENCE.Sanchez delights us. It looks small from the outside, but there's plenty of seating. Very clean, casual atmosphere. The deli is in the front with a display of many items in refrigerated cases.
