I have a two year master level certificate in canine behavior (Canine Behavior Analyst and Counselor). As part of my education I did an externship and residency where I worked in Florida with shelter dogs to make them adoptable. I have been working in the field for 10 years and have worked with all different types of dogs and behavioral issues.

I was impressed with Maureen starting with our phone conversation and that only increased once I met and started working with her. She is warm, friendly and knowledgeable. She clearly loves what she does. I felt comfortable with her immediately. My dog, not so much and Maureen gave him the time and space to get more comfortable with her which improved by our second session. Maureen is by far the person to train your dog. Maureen takes the time to analyze your dogs behavioral problems and works through them . My dog Pickles does not benefit from group classes (very shy and skiddish) Maureen came to my house and saw Pickles problem immediately. What do you love most about your job?
It's a tie between seeing the second a dog (especially puppies) learn what we are trying to teach them and the smile on an owner's face in the moment they realize their dog is actually really smart.
One spring day I was laying in an agility tunnel with just my feet hanging out the end, trying to help a sweet golden retriever puppy build confidence enough to enter the tunnel - I realized ... I am actually getting paid for this and I LOVE IT!
What inspired you to start your own business?
My passion is helping dogs to stay with their original homes and to see the joy on their owner's faces when they learn what are appropriate behaviors. It started out as a passion and has turned into an entrepreneurial adventure! I want to keep doing it so it needs to support itself.

I had just started my business when COVID hit. I was also an online college professor, very comfortable teaching online so I asked my clients if they would like to train via Zoom. I received a resounding "no". After a few months, people started asking for virtual training and I began doing behavioral mods and trainings all over the country. It has been very successful! In fact, I can tell you one advantage it has over in-person training. When I train dogs (especially puppies) in-person they become very focused on me. During Zoom trainings, I have to be able to teach you to be the dog trainer and they become very focused on you!
