Blak Marigold is a wonderful studio! The engineer Mike was super accommodating, time-efficient and easy to work with! During my session and throughout the whole process, he was communicative and worked hard to make sure I got the sound that I was aiming for. At this studio, quality is all that you get. If you're in Austin, Texas and serious about your music you should be working with Michael Smith. If you're not, you're not getting the best. I worked with 2 engineers before Mike and my only regret is not reaching out to him sooner. For starters, your session will be welcoming and comfortable. My first session with Mike consisted of free beer and bbq before we got started (don't expect that but it goes to show that he is a good host which translates to good vibes that you will hear in your recording.) During the session, you will get a professional who is easy to work with and happy. I can't emphasize the difference it makes when you have a engineer who love's what they do and is motivated to create the highest quality sound possible. Example: I finished recording my chorus and Mike suggested having a female sing on top of it to harmonize - it took the whole track to a new level!!! It's all about energy when making music and there's nothing but good energy in Mike's studio.
