I am unhappy with the service our family received at the restaurant.  Our appetizers were brought out within a reasonable time, however, our actual dinner took way too long.  I tried to inquire about the status of our dinner and the manager(who had just asked if we needed anything) very rudely told me "Look, you are not the only one in the restaurant, we have other customers".  His tone and response were both inappropriate for me asking a simple question.  We were part of a bigger party and  we were one of the first ones to place our order out the group and by the time I inquired, most of the other members (who arrived and ordered after us) of the group had already received their dinner and had eaten.  I requested to speak with the owner of the restaurant and at first, she seemed to try to brush it off due to being short staffed in their kitchen.  I explained to her that I understood that but that was no reason for a unprofessional response by her manager to my inquiry.  I told her I understand staffing issues, I work with a staff as well, but this is not a excuse to act unprofessional with customers.  The owner did end up giving us two free desserts due to the incident, but it felt like this was done just to get rid of me, more than being empathetic to how the manager was treating a paying patron of her restaurant.  Service was super slow at the restaurant and the way I was treated by the manager, will insure that we will not be frequenting the restaurant again. 7/15/2021-Ordered for the first time from Bluff City Grill. Did an on line carry out/curb side pick up. Called after ordering and informed the young lady answering the phone that I would pick up the food in an hour. She was a little confused and passed the phone to someone else. Arrived and waited 10 minutes for my curb side to be brought out. Got the food home only to find out it apparently had been sitting for quite sometime. It looked terrible, but we gave it a taste. It was dry and and not very flavorful. Did not finish ANY of the food. My wife and I both agreed this was a $50.00 lesson learned. We will not be ordering from this place again, and I pride myself on supporting our local business's. More...

Don't let the ambience fool you. This place feels like a cafeteria/bunker and smells at least as bad--I know, a bad smell should put you off like nothing else. But like most businesses in the area, it's a repurposed space, which is a pretty sustainable model and enhances the small town vibe. The service here was really friendly, and the food was actually pretty fantastic. My shrimp was not overcooked, and the tilapia was cooked to perfection. The menu also seems fo have a fondness for artichoke hearts, if that's your thing (it's mine). I also appreciated the unobtrusive sound panels, which masked a lot of the noise that would have made it feel more like a cafeteria. Overall, I was pleased. It's not great for date night, but if you can get over the off-kilter, claustrophobic ambience, you'll have a seriously tasty meal! More...

Stopped in on Fathers Day for lunch with a party of 8 and were seated immediately. We ordered several apps, pretty much anything fried and it was all amazing. The biggest hits were the guacamole bites, stingers (chicken tenders), and fried green beans. Everyone also raved about the main courses, not going to go through them all but I had the special - Cajun chicken & andouille sausage tortellini and it hit the spot with just enough spice and full of flavor. No one had room for desert with large portions with every meal. Service was perfect and our server was super attentive! Visiting St. Louis for business and decided to explore the surrounding area. Found this place on Yelp, located across the Mississippi in Illinois. Can see why the high ratings. Was greeted enthusiastically! Everyone from the greeters to the bartenders were extraordinarily pleasant and friendly. We sat in the bar area t watch the US Open. Service and food was excellent. I had grilled tilapia and shrimp with fried onion petals and fried corn. Hubby had a cheese burger and fries. Everything tasted good. Food is moderately priced, so great on the pocket book. All in all great place to go if you want to get out and sight see the St. Louis area!! More...
