let me start by saying the owners are very kind and followed up with me after my visit. however I will not be returning, I do not recommend this place, and if you have a senior dog absolutely NOT. I had a 10 am appointment for 2 dogs and was told it would take a couple of hours but they would text if they had issues and let me know when they were done. 1 pm rolls around and I haven't heard from them. I went by and when I walked in my dog is leashed and standing on the grooming table. one groomer with her back turned washing a dog and 2 other groomers with their backs turned holding down and clipping another dog. my dog gets ready to jump from the table upon seeing me. I yelled sit and my dog sat. The ladies in the room didn't look up and didn't say a word. If my dog were not trained, she would have hung from that table. she went to jump for me a second time and I gasped and said my dog's name, finally the groomer turned around and tried to calm my dog down. I said she is mine and that is the first recognition I got from ANYONE that I had even walked in the building. this is my first issue. my second issue is that my 2 dogs have been there for 3 hours and one of them was in back and had not been touched. I asked for him back and they took almost 10 mins to go get him (weird). The one on the table was not finished being cut, she was still wet, and they had not cleaned her ears or clipped her nails, all part of the $50 package I was quoted. they asked if I would be willing to wait another hour so they could do the second dog and the groomer kept going on and on about how unruly the dog that got her hair cut was. I told them my dogs are senior dogs and do not like being groomed prior to making the appointment. they assured me they could handle it and it would not be a problem. I told them at this point I want both my dogs back and would like to pay and would be leaving. the girl at the counter said sorry and that she would comp me for the second haircut that they never did (of course I do not expect to pay for a service they didn't do during the allotted appointment time) she acted like it was a favor) I was then charged the full price for the dog that was cut. I did refuse to stay longer for them to clip her nails and clean her ears so I guess that's my fault for sticking to appointment times and having places to be. All in all a terrible experience and I am really put off by the amount of complaining the groomer did about my senior 12 lb poodle mix. not all dogs are going to sit perfectly still for strangers to groom them and I was very upfront about this. typically I groom my dogs myself but I am 9 months pregnant and thought I would give this a try. The first time I took my poodle to them , what I needed done was discussed and I paid the price ($50) discussed. I told them he didn’t like anyone messing with his feet, but they said that was OK. They were used to that. The second time I took him, I added a couple of requests and the price quoted was what I paid ($61). Again I mentioned that he didn’t like anyone messing with his feet. Again they said don’t worry. Today was my third time to take my poodle there. I asked for the same items as I had had done in the past with nothing extra. I didn’t ask for the price, because I assumed it would be the same as the first trip. Again, I mentioned his feet. When I picked him up, they told me I owed $70 because they had to charge me $15 for Special Handling because of how he acted when they did his feet! Something about this just didn’t sit right with me. I am not very happy with the outcome of this visit and I firmly believe I was overcharged !!! More...
