Amazing experience from start to finish. Dr. Tom has put together a great team of people. We flew into Vegas from Pensacola on a Sunday night, I had the surgery on Wednesday and we were back home by Friday night. Everything was very well organized and things went very smoothly. We were even able to squeeze in a show and a trip to Freemont Street before the surgery. If you don't want to jump through all the hoops your insurance company puts in front of you and don't feel comfortable going to Mexico this is the place to get your surgery done. They were able to give me an all inclusive price up front which included VIP transportation and lodging at a very nice hotel. However, keep in mind it is done as an outpatient procedure so you do need to have someone with at least half a brain to keep a close watch on you the first night (they tell you what to watch for). Overall, a great experience I would recommend to anyone seriously considering this procedure (VSG). More...

Horrendous customer service upon my first visit. I called and spoke with two different employees. Filled out my paperwork prior to coming. I arrive roughly 5 minutes prior to my appointment and the receptionist informs me that $50 is due for the consultation. Over the phone I was informed that if I did not have insurance I would have to pay $150.00. I have insurance and was given the appointment time of 2:45pm on a Monday. My only day off in the week. I was not prepared to pay $50 as I was not informed that I would have to. No empathy from receptionist. Just him asking are you rescheduling or not?! Wow great first and LAST impression Blossom Bariatrics. Unprofessional at the least. I was so excited about today too.Update Later In The Same Day: The marketing manager called me later in the day. She listened to the calls and admitted that I had not been properly informed of the $50 charge. Her empathy and just her calling went a long way with me. I have rescheduled for my next day off. I hope and pray the second time around goes much better.UPDATED APPOINTMENT 1 WEEK LATER: So, #TakeTwo on the rescheduled visit. It went as perfect as all the positive reviews state. Blossom Bariatrics has the most professional and nicest staff I’ve encountered in the medical profession. I’m 3 days post op and already back in my home state with my family. I highly recommend Blossom Bariatrics if you are looking to change your life for the better. From my very first meet and greet all the way through surgery everyone has been super helpful and kind. You can tell everyone on staff genuinely want to help out each patient. Consult day truly put my mind as ease that I was making the right decision. Each step in the process everyone was willing to hear out any and all questions or concerns that I had. And most questions that I had in my head were answered before I got a chance to ask. I also was given a binder with all the information that I needed printed out nicely so I did t have to remember everything. The dietitian on site is easy to talk to and really has great advice for ways to keep on track and to not get discouraged. And of course Dr. Tom thank you for giving me this tool that will change my life forever. I’m only one day post op but I’m prepared for my new healthier life thanks to everyone at Blossom Bariatrics. I generally do not write reviews unless my experience was horrible or amazing. My experience with Blossom was beyond fantastic. I can not say enough positive things about Blossom. I live in Houston, Texas which has one of the largest medical centers in the world. I chose Blossom, based on the fantastic reviews, quality staff and facility, and ultimately the price (which was significantly less than the prices I received from the Houston Medical Center. If you are outside of the Vegas area, the Blossom Fast Track program is the way to go. We were able to complete all pre-op screenings, tests, and visits in the course of 3 days rather than the 3-8 months the process would have taken me in Houston. Transportation to and from the airport, hotel, and facility was always in a Cadillac Escalade or a limousine and the drivers were professional and engaging. The Blossom clinic and surgical facility were top notch and the staff were truly some of the best medical professionals I have ever encountered. The very first time I walked thru the door to Blossom Bariatric and Warm Springs Surgical Center was truly an amazing comfortable experience. I can't describe how wonderful the staff and doctors are. I want to thank you all for the wonderful compassionate , supportive, and thorough care that I have received. I want to thank:Blossom Bariatrics:Nick for the for setting up the whole process,keeping us informed through each step of the way, completing my FLMA paperwork, and explaining the preop goodies bag! Stacy and Dave for the friendly smiles as i thru checked me in. The check in was painless and easy.Kaylie for taking our vitals and picture. She made us laugh and that relaxed my nerves. She kept checking on us., letting us know who we were seeing next and making sure ww didn't feel forgotten about as we waited. The girls in the lab who put me at ease as they drew my blood for lab work, ekg, and the breathing machine test. They kept my mind off of the tests they were running.The guy (sorry I can't remember his name) who ran the stress test and echo/ultrasound, was so nice and professional while he completed the test. Alex explained the after surgery diet and 6 month diet so well to us. He made it simple to understand. He shared some amazing ideas like freezing my sugar free vitamin zero water for popsicles. He helped us get our vitamins we need to take after the 2 weeks. His guidance and support we couldn't ask for a better person!Warm Springs Surgical Center:Gina was incredible at making me feel relaxed throughout the EGD and surgery. She was very professional and kind. Samantha was a superstar! She did an incredible job at placing my midline IV with Kendra stand by assistance. Samantha also took care of me before and after my surgery. She made me feel at home and comfortable. She is organized and wonderful! Pauline was a terrific nurse on my admit and post care after the EGD! Kim was my circulator for both of my procedures. She was thorough, organized, and caring throughout the entire procedure. Tim Phan was excellent at the anesthesia he gave to me. He was informative and answered all of my questions. I usually get very sick after surgery, HOWEVER, this time I didn't get sick at all!! He provided me with just the right amount of anesthesia to get the job done. Dr. Matt Apel was so incredible. He introduced himself with a smile on his face and such good energy about him, that, I didn't feel any worry before my surgery. He checked on me after surgery. Excellent care he provided me! His bedside manner was topnotch!! Excellent Surgeon!!Dr. Tom Umbach was very professional. He listened to my concerns and answered all of questions, never feeling rushed. His facility and staff are exactly what you want for any bariatric procedure . I was a little nervous about the process at first. During my first visit I was met with warmth and kindness. I felt as if the nerves I was feeling was anticipated and calmed by genuine care and concern warm tones in the voices of every staff member. The process was well organized and professional.My Surgeon Dr. Matt Apel has the warmest of smiles. Once he shook my hand and began explaining his role in the process, the genuine humanity in his voice coupled with that million dollar smile made me feel like I was talking with and old friend. The Surgery was successful (safe sleeve and hernia repair)the weight is coming off. From day 1 the staff was so good to me. Everyone made sure I was comfortable through the whole process. I did the Fast Track program and couldn’t be happier with the full service care that they provided. Everyone at Blossom Bariatrics was nice and helped me prepare mentally for what was going to be happening during my week long process. It’s so nice to see a place where so many of their team members went through the same process, this makes them a great resource for patients because they can relate to you. The doctor prepared me for what I would experience the day of surgery and the day after... it was not easy but having him tell me straight forward left me with no surprises. The nurses at Warm Springs were so friendly and made me feel 100% comfortable. The anesthesiologist could see me getting nervous when I started having pre-surgery jitters and made sure to address it that second. The surgeon answered all my questions and made sure I understood what happens during the procedure. The night after surgery was rough but if you follow their directions (as hard as it may be getting up to walk through out the night) you get through it. And now the day after surgery, I’m sitting here getting the IV therapy and I feel better than I expected to. If you’re going to a weight loss procedure, this is absolutely the place to do it. I started dieting when I was 18 and tried just about every fad diet there is. I lost 100’s of pounds over the years all with the same result. First I would gain back the weight I had lost, then I would gain a few extra pounds to boot. Now I’m 58, good health, just getting really slow and I’ve taken a few falls over the last year. My insurance company offered counseling but no surgery. I did the councilors in 2017-2018 for a year. Lost 30 pounds and gained 32. Last straw. I started researching other countries for affordable surgery. A few friends of friends have gone to Tijuana and have been successfull. I felt uneasy. I’ve traveled extensively over my lifetime in Mexico and with the unrest there I did not feel safe. I found Blossom Bariatrics while doing my research and they seemed like a dream come true. I had the surgery and as advertised, they were state of the art. The staff and doctors were informative, friendly and made me feel at ease. The drivers were on time and very professional. The hotel was clean and had breakfast included for my husband. Overall I could not have asked for a easier more relaxed experience. This is Day 3 after surgery and so far I have been fine with Tylenol. Discomfort yes but not the excruciating pain I was anticipating.
