My daughter and I attended the Ariana Grande concert at PNC arena earlier in the evening and decided to have late night dessert at Bittersweet. I was so excited to get a parking spot right out of front, and was seated immediately. We started our order with one of the special quiches of the day, which was good, but not like smack your momma good. Our dessert then came out, I ordered the Apple Cobbler Donut w/ vanilla ice cream, and my daughter ordered the S'mores Sunday. They were both delicious, I actually ate the majority of both. I have never had a dessert that I didn't like from Bittersweet. The ambiance is great, they always have fresh flowers on the tables. Both the drink and dessert menus are  plentiful. Love the deco, the cocktail, the dessert, and the wonderful service.  Went in on a Saturday with a line outside the door.  The doorman/reception was great at moving people and making room for big party .  Four of us were asked if we were okay sitting by the high top in the back on bar row style, instead of a table, which we were okay with.  So we got sat within 15 mins wait or so, then the staff came over promptly and took great care of us.  It is such a cute place for a sweet tooth at night, some cocktail, or even a cute date night place (or after dinner and let's grab another drink/dessert place).  Do note that the place can get quite loud and it was packed with people mostly just mingling around, so could be hard to get a table with big group or quiet time. I've been coming here for years and absolutely love Bittersweet. My favorite dessert is the creme brûlée, which they change the flavor of every season. Whether it's pumpkin, raspberry, lavender, or clementine, the creme brûlée is ALWAYS delicious. The drinks are also good and incorporate a lot of unique flavors. Go to this place. Go right now! It is definitely worth checking out because it is amazing. Went on a Friday evening and it was busy, but not too bad. We only had a short wait to get in and the drinks were 100% worth it. I highly recommend the Blair Witch Tea Party especially if you like gin, tea, and a little bit of kick. Incredible cocktails--especially the espresso cocktails. Very good pies that rotate daily and the sweetest (ugh, pun) people that work there. A quick anecdote on the extreme generosity of the people that work there: I left my sunglasses there and only realized I didn't have them after going back to Chicago. I contacted them, and they quickly put me in touch with their manager who mailed them to me (and even did so in a box so they wouldn't break). Amazing cocktails, coffee, & desserts. The only thing I was unhappy about was how loud they have the music. It's a dessert bar, not a night club. . very difficult to have a conversation in here.Anyway, we ordered some delicious things! I am of course obsessed with pumpkin & their fall menu is out so I tried their pumpkin pie martini & pumpkin pie brûlée. The cocktail was phenomenal! Tasted like pumpkin pie in a glass! My pumpkin brûlée was a surprising mixture of flavors! The plate came with fresh whipped cream & spiced pecans. The filling was like pumpkin pie with crunchy sugar. It was amazing! The pecans actually had some spicy flavor like chili peppers. Very interesting and delicious combination. My friend got the apple pie donut cobble & surprise had bacon in it! I had a chance to visit Bittersweet Saturday night. I ordered the BlackBerry Lemonade and the Teaches of Peaches. The drink was AMAZING, the dessert however could have been alot better. The portion was extremely small and not very flavorful. The handle had a pinch of peach filling that my boyfriend and I didn't even notice at first. I enjoyed the music and ambiance though. Perfect place for a nightcap! No wait on a busy Saturday night for a table. Plenty of ice cream, desserts, drinks, or a combination of both worlds to create a delicious sweet and boozy treat! This is my second time having the Chipwich and there's literally no words except what I'm saying below! What a fun drink and dessert bar. Had the dude... their take on a white russian and it was fabulous. Our bartender was new to the area and super adorable with great conversation! We got two desserts and shared. The cookie sandwich with popcorn was SOOO good and well balanced from salty and sweet. Also got the bourbon pecan pie with ice cream which was delicious but a bit sweet for my taste. Cant knock off a star for personal taste though on the sweetness scale. An after school treat downtown with our G'daughter led us to Bittersweet, a known favorite.  This is my first review. A long time coming. I usually just have an ice cream at the window. Wow! Caramel corn ice cream sandwich and S'mores Sundae were 'out of this world' but the Dragons Milk Stout was everything I've ever wanted (short of my life's love)!!! Three of us had dessert and coffee here on a Friday night after enjoying an evening downtown Raleigh on a beautiful Friday night. It's an awesome experience, the ambiance, the menu, the flavor of everything we had. Being our first time there, the server was a huge help in making great suggestions. The Creme Brûlée with the chocolate drizzled popcorn on top was an amazing combination of sweet and salt. The cheesecake with rum soaked bananas was like a combination of cheesecake and bananas foster, I didn't want it to end. These desserts were definitely some of the best we had ever had and we love dessert. All of the desserts are in-house made and so delicious!!The menu is subject to change by season and day of the week/weekend, but I'm sure all of the options are always delicious.
