Belle Marie is a great salon. The staff are all really friendly and professional, and the salon is always clean and looks great! I see Liz for cut and coloring, and would recommend her to anyone. I'm having an ethical dilemma regarding my feedback. This was my first visit to Belle Marie Salon, and my first ever balayage.  My appointment was with Sarah, I walked in with my mousy brown hair, we chatted about a new summer look before she got to work.  Any nervousness or fear I may have walked in with faded, Sarah's confidence and cheer is definitely infectious.  I had a lovely time chatting with her as she painted my hair, she truly does have a knack for putting a person at ease.  But most of all, I was ecstatic with the results, I have not cried happy tears at my hair in years.  It's been over a month since Sarah did my hair and I still get compliments and I still marvel at how good my hair looks.  She is so talented and just a truly lovely personality.  Thank you for making me feel so beautiful Sarah! Really happy with my haircut from Sarah. I got stuff in traffic so I ended up being about 20 minutes late. She let me know up front that she might not have time to style me completely (which I totally got - my fault for being late! ), but ended up giving me a great haircut and get it all finished in the short amount of time. I have been seeing Maria at Belle Maria for 7 years now and I can't say enough fabulous things about her and this salon. First off, Maria cares about my hair and my hair color - even making suggestions on how I can "love" my hair more..and she's right. She doesn't stay away from honesty either - you know those some times when you want to go short or get bangs and your stylist doesn't stop you? I just moved from the SF Bay Area to Seattle and have not had my hair done in like 9 weeks. I found this salon based on the reviews (and it is near me), and the atmosphere is really pleasant and it was easy to book an appointment. Staff and crew are nice, the prices are reasonable.In defense of Tess: When I found out she was my stylist I was nervous after reading the last review, but I have to say, she did a beautiful job on my hair. My hair is not easy to work with, it is fine and wavy/curly, so you have to get the cut just right.. She did my hair last night and not only was the color perfect (she did not have notes to go off of from my previous stylist) but the hair cut is really adorable. She is super sweet, too. I have thick curly (3b) hair, and I only trust Liz to cut it. She is the first person who I have gone to who I tell to leave it natural and not blow it out because she makes the curls look so beautiful and even around my head. I can wear my hair naturally since I have gone to see her. She also colors my dark brown hair to cover my greys and it is always done perfectly and lasts for a long time. I always get compliments on my hair the few weeks after I see Liz. She is worth driving over to Seattle to see. She is so genuine and kind I feel better about myself just chatting with her! I found Belle Marie when Liz moved here this fall. Because Liz is more than worth her weight in EZPass charges, gas, traffic - when you find a stylist who will not let you leave until you are truly happy, you don't care where they move. Liz wants you to feel like you, only better, and she does that by giving amazing cuts and color. Liz has taken me short and long, making the most of my natural white when I was still enjoying it, and helping me find natural-looking alternatives (which is consistent with my aesthetic) when it stopped. I can trust her to tell me the truth about choices, and respect the care and caution she exercises when I come in with big new ideas. Also, if there is such a thing as a warm professional demeanor, she is the poster girl for it. Love her, and recommend her to everyone I know - including people whose aesthetic is not mine at all - she is bound to make them happy.As for the salon - fantastic! I like the decor - not too fussy, smart-chic-femme, and found the owner to be welcoming and helpful. In a weird twist, between the time I had paid for parking and had to pay for my new color, my bank had put a hold on my account as my card had been counterfeited and used in a store 400 miles away. Not only was she willing to let me pay later, she explained the whole card-theft process as it's currently happening and what changes are coming for businesses nationwide in terms of accepting electronic payments. She didn't have to do that, but she had both sympathy for my predicament and helped me understand what happened - a lot better than the bank!In short, go to Belle Marie, ask for Liz. Maria (the owner) has been doing my hair for seven years.  She is amazing, knows how to work great with my super fine hair, teaches me new tricks to do my hair (like cool ways to use bobby pins).  I will never go to anyone else.  Her salon is cool and oribe stuff is awesome.  You will love Maria and Belle Marie salon.  She's even let me bring my dog and baby in before which totally helped me out.  I highly recommend her and the salon!!
