Energy healing, such as Reiki, can be sent to anyone regardless of their location, based on the principle that energy is not limited by time and space. Distance Reiki can be performed using the recipient's photo and a healing crystal, although some practitioners believe that these objects are unnecessary since Reiki energy can be directed to the person through thoughts and intention. Permission should be invoked or received before performing Distance Reiki.
