A quaint little restaurant in Sandwich with really great food! Not a whole lot of seating so definitely make reservations in advance. Everyone I was with practically licked their plates clean! More...

I had the great pleasure of being a guest at the Belfry Inn.  I chose it for its proximity to the town and activities i was attending.  But I would return because it is simply a one-of-a-kind place.  True to its era in its decor.  Spotlessly clean. I could have spent a month in the super comfy bed with luxury linen.  Even more impressive was the genial owner, Chris, who immediately acted upon messages I left with his staff and was concerned that he be maximally helpful.  And he was!  What innkeeper offers to drive a guest to the Park and Ride at Sagamore at 6:30am on Sunday?  And he is not usually on-site at that time.  The restaurant was superb with such gracious service and superb seafood. The Burger Bar's within the Inn has a manager who sings as he works.  One just doesn't usually find someone that happy at work. And the food is of a great variety.  LOVED the hummus platter.  I believe that the Belfry Inn is a place that will be remembered by its fortunate guests as a place of perfection. More...

We recently hired Chris and his team at The Belfry Inn to host an amazing wedding ceremony and cocktail hour for ourselves and 65 guests. The garden patio was a beautiful and perfect place to comfortably seat everybody for the ceremony, and the dining room was arranged perfectly for the staff to pass hors d'oeuvres and for the guests to partake in some drinks prior to a reception off-premises. Chris was able to accommodate all of our requests, and went above and beyond to ensure we, and everyone in attendance, had an amazing experience.Thank you for helping secure ceremony chairs, the officiant, and cater to our guests with food allergies. Everybody was immensely impressed with the quality of food prepared by your chefs and the service that followed. We particularly heard ravings about the chicken skewers and burger sliders, and appreciate the attention to detail your team put into every bit of a wonderful afternoon. We highly recommend seeking Chris at The Belfry Inn for all of your wedding needs!-Ron and Mikaela More...

I have been to this venue many times, for dinners, overnights and wine tastings. It is an incredible place! Beautiful (well preserved Abbey), amazing food in the bistro and a very dedicated and involved inn keeper-owner. Yes it's pricey, but I have never been disappointed. Most recently spent New Years Eve there and it makes me want to go back again.Favorite part of the New Years meal was the lobster chowder. I thought my lobster bisque was the best ever, but this rivals it. More...

This was our first Thanksgiving on the Cape, but given that it was just the two of us, we decided to give both the cook and the dishwasher the night off and have a special dinner at the Belfry Inn. Our first impression as lapsed Catholics was that we were walking into an old brick church. Not just the exterior, but even the stained glass windows had been meticulously preserved. Fortunately we didn't have to go to confession before being seated and ordering a cocktail, many of them, like the "Prayer-tini", keeping the church theme firmly visible. The dining area was cozy and quaint. A first course of squash chili was light and tasty without being overpowering. Both my wife and I ordered the Apple Fall Greens, which were similarly refreshing. Our entree was Whole Roasted Free Range Turkey with Homemade Gravy, Cornbread Crumble Stuffing, Maple Butternut Mashed Potatoes and Cranberry Sauce. Portions were reasonable, and everything was properly cooked and presented. Nothing truly special, it was nevertheless comfort food for the holidays. The Apple Cobbler dessert seemed a little underwhelming, as it was served to us without a crust and with a dollop of what appeared to be ice cream instead of "Salted Caramel Gelato" as advertised. Still, we have no complaints overall, and consider it a possibility for a new Thanksgiving tradition for the future. More...

Chris, the inn keeper, was incredibly helpful from start to finish. He provided me and my family with the intimate wedding I always dreamed of. I always wanted a small wedding, unique to my husband and I- with excellent food. Chris and his chef made it happen. We had 70 guests. I made a point of eating all the food- the risotto shooters, the shrimp cocktail, lobster bisque, fall salad, cod on risotto. The weekend was perfect, and all our guests loved staying at Inns in Sandwich. We had guests at the Abbey, in the Painted Lady, The Village and others in town. It was simple, beautiful and elegant. My husband and I plan to return for anniversaries. Thank you Chris!! More...

My boyfriend and I spent the weekend at the Belfry.  We got the romance package for 2 nights which included a couples massage, a three-course dinner for two, and breakfast in the bistro.  The innkeeper, Christopher was friendly and accommodating.  The staff was also very friendly and attentive.  We stayed in the Friday room with a jet tub for two which was incredible.  The downfall of the Friday room is that it is directly above the kitchen, which means you hear constant banging for the entire evening. Our dinner for two was superb.  We had the filet and chicken fried pork loin and everything was prepared beautifully.  The breakfast in the morning was also delicious.  We are local and enjoy staying at nearby inns and beds and breakfasts. We will definitely return. More...

I found The Belfry Inn & Bistro through Yelp and I have to tell you that I was interested as soon as I saw it. I made the reservations through Booking. com and it was very easy and not confusing as some sites can be. We arrived on Friday around 4:30pm and were greeted by a lovely young lady who was very professional. As she was checking us in she walk into another and a gentleman came in and asked if I was all set. I said "Yes" that the young lady was helping me. He introduced himself to me as Chris which I assumed was the manager or Owner. from that point in our visit it only got better. They booked us into the Saturday room which i can honestly say was an incredible experience. The room was very clean and tidy. The soaker  tub was a nice add to the room. then we were of to a 7:00pm dinner reservation in the Bistro. my wife had the Filet and it was one of the best cuts of meet I have ever tasted (highly recommend ). I had the Pork Schnitzel which was very good with the bean and fingerling salad on top. The second night instead going out to a different location for dinner we decided to stay there and sit at the bar for cocktails and apps. I wanted the little necks, but unfortunately I can eat raw seafood. Toby the chef said he could make the little necks steamed opened. And he made the most incredible steamed little necks with a white wine butter sauce that I have ever had. Chris the Bar tender is very good and attentive. We never had an empty glass and he knew how to make a cocktail. The entire staff was very attentive to our needs and I would highly recommend staying here. More...

After a crazy month at work..I needed to pack up the wife and get away..we had really enjoyed the Cape this summer so we snuck away to the Belfry inn for the weekend! Such a beautiful converted church from 1900..this inn has such charm and the grounds are beautiful and relaxing! We dined in the Bistro in the church and it was beautiful!  To begin...we had the steak tartare! I hadn't had that since Paris so I was very excited and my wife had the shrimp cocktail...both very good...my wife ordered a pumpkin risotto that was so delicious and so perfect for this season! There were toasted pumpkin seeds on top and fried sage..yum!!  I had the seared scallops with pancetta mashed potatoes and roasted brussel sprouts..another winner!!  I must say the Belfry cured what ailed us! Chris the owner was an extreemly gracious host!!  He knows his wines and chose some greats for us by the glass! We can't wait to go back! More...

We stayed at the Belfry Inn last Wednesday and Thursday. Wednesday evenings the Bistro hosts wine tastings which we learned about and participated in. The Bistro invited a speaker who was extremely knowledgeable about this particular Italian wine vintner who's wines were featured at the tasting. We tasted 4 different wines with an individually served appetizer to accompany each wine we tasted. It was so good we had to come back for dinner the next evening. We enjoy a cocktail at the bar, that overlooks the dining room, but still has such a cozy feeling to it. The wine selection is great, service is attentive and personable, and the food was outstanding. Great salad selections with intriguing dressings, my filet mignon was very tasty and cooked perfectly, ending with a cappuccino and cognac. (I was to full for dessert) The dining room is a one of a kind architecture that is so relaxing. I recommend you go online to see the pictures. If you have not tried this restaurant you, need to, or just enjoy a drink and appetizer at the bar. We have finally found "the place" on the Cape that we will always return to. More...

I had read somewhere that the "foodie bride" should consider the Belfry Inne & Bistro - they were right. We've dined at the bistro before and absolutely loved the quality of the meals as well as the decor. But would the same quality be at a 100-person wedding? Yes, yes it was. One guest told me, "this is not the usual wedding chicken." In addition, Chris Wilson is extremely accommodating and great at answering my many, many questions. Our 10/26/13 wedding had a slight Halloween feel and the stained glass, wooden cathedral ceilings and former church decor was just perfect with all our pumpkins and autumn leaves. And your guests will love to stay at the cozy quaint rooms in the neighboring buildings that are part of the Belfry. Some are adjoining for families, the ones above the restaurant are primarily for the wedding party and are just fantastic... jacuzzi tubs and fireplaces. We had our rehearsal dinner at the bistro as well and our families just loved spending the weekend with each other at such a lovely location with delicious dinners and breakfasts. The staff is the BEST and really deserving of all these 5 stars! More...

Amazing.  My boyfriend and I went here for our third year anniversary.  We got one of their packages (the summer fling package) and it was a ridiculous deal. .. especially if you like fine dining.  We stayed in the Pope Room and the two nights we were there we ate like kings.  I had the beef carpaccio and grilled mahi mahi with fresh vegetables from the painted lady's garden, the first night, and the second night a scrumptious hanger steak with yukon gold potatoes, as well as an array of desert samplers to finish it off (cape cod cranberry creme brulee, chocolate flourless torte, blueberry something or rather, mango ice cream, and a couple other things that I think I forget because I could barely finish the meal!)  The innkeeper Chris is the best host and on our arrival we had freshly made chocolate dipped strawberries and champagne waiting for us in our room.  We also spent our second day there on Martha's vineyard, and our tickets were included in the package.  This place is architecturally beautifully and perfectly hospitable.  I would recommend it a hundred times over.  The Abbey is just beautiful in itself.  One thing is though- our shower head was VERY low, although peeeerfect for my height! (5'3") so if you are very tall, maybe another room would have a higher shower head :P More...

My fiance and I wanted to spend a nice romantic weekend on the Cape, and we chose the Belfry Inne after seeing all the great reviews.  They were wonderful, fitting us in for one night, even though we were going during peak season when the minimum requirement is two.  We stayed in the Kristina room, which was in the Painted Lady.  It was very quiet and charming, and we enjoyed exploring the small Alice-in-wonderland turret room.  I do think next time we are going to try one of the rooms in the Abbey, which we had a lot of fun exploring after our meals.  Dinner at the Bistro was absolutely divine (gazpacho, chicken braised with local honey, tomatoes stuffed with eggplant "caviar", and delicious desserts).  Breakfast the next morning was also wonderful, french toast with fresh berries.  Chris, the owner, was incredibly hospitable, as was the staff.  Sandwich is also a delightful little town, and we can't wait to return! We honeymooned on the Cape this spring and stayed at the Belfry in the Tuesday Room at the Abbey.  We booked on-line so were a little worried about not knowing what we were getting into.  We shouldn't have worried.  It was amazing!  The bed was incredibly comfy, the hot tub and fireplace were incredibly romantic, and we were pleasantly surprised to have cable tv.  The breakfast was divine- we had fresh pesto over eggs with fingerling potatoes, strawberry waffles, and an amazing eggs Benedict.  Our last night in town we stopped there for dinner as our splurge (it's a little pricey) and were delighted with the food and service.
