In the past we have been disappointed by mediocre cakes but we were absolutely thrilled with our daughter's 16th birthday cake from Bee's Knees! It was not only beautiful but sooooo delicious! I ordered a cake for graduation the day before and they were able to fulfill my order! I was so excited that I didn’t need to get a grocery cake and that it was so affordable. I told them what to write on it and to use red and black, but no further instructions (I didn’t expect much since it was last minute). It looked beautiful and tasted delicious. Got my hubby a special order cake from these guys for his birthday ! They did a very good job for sure. Made it with just the way I asked I got him a poop emoji cake lol ! It was moist and very yum our 5 year old loved the details and it made my hubby laugh he hates his birthday so i thought it would take the edge off ! I feel like the negative reviews are a little unfair. Bee's Knees is a wonderful little bakery and I have never received anything less than excellent. The  selection is larger than you would think- about 10-15 different flavors of cupcakes, a few varieties of gooey bars, petit fours, cake pops, and now milkshakes. The red velvet cupcakes and fruity pebble cupcakes are absolutely AMAZING and much better quality than those of chain bakeries. If you happen to be in the area, definitely give this bakery a try! My granddaughter showed me a picture of a cat cake that she wanted for her birthday party. I went to Bees Knees and showed the girl (who looked at it for 5 seconds) and said she could do it. 2 weeks later I picked it up, wondering how she could have remembered what the picture looked like. It was SPOT ON!!! The cake was absolutely beautiful and tasted great. My daughter said it was PERFECT. The food is amazing (the strawberry gooey bars are to die for!!!) But the customer service is lacking. I tend to be a walk in customer when I'm craving something sweet, but every time I visit I get the impression I'm a bother to serve and the help would Rather be chatting than selling me something. There are not enough reviews here to say how spectacular this bakery is.  And I should know.  I live in Savannah, where bakeries are a novelty.  Bees Knees is truly wonderful.  I wanted to send my sweet friend a happy work anniversary gift. She'd been going through some things and wanted to send her a reminder that she is loved and to celebrate the little things. Bee's Knees was wonderful. They had all her favorites, they put it in a box, and delivered the cupcakes to her door (in person!). Plus, they added a perfect little note.  My friend loved her cupcakes. After a brief Yelp hiatus I had to log in and review this gem of a bakery! My husband and I were searching for the perfect cake for our daughter's first birthday after agonizing for a week over what cake design we should choose we finally decided on a design only to realize I still had to find someone to make that design come to life. I had seen this bakery several times and always wanted to try it but never got around to stopping in.  So this is the first place that came to mind when we were looking. We stopped in and the first thing I noticed was the cupcake case filled with a number of different flavors. We walked right up to the counter to order there was no wait and ordered our daughters birthday cake.  The whole experience was easier than I thought it was going to be.  I felt like they were very friendly and helpful even letting us know where we could find the cake topper in the cake photo we brought in. While we were there we decided to get a couple of cupcakes to try I got the hummingbird cake one. I waited until we got back home to try it though but when I did I was in love. Like real love with a cupcake! Me of all people!   The frosting was absolutely divine so good I couldn't tell you if the frosting or the cupcake was the best part! We will definitely be back soonish to pick up our daughters first birthday cake and to stock up on more delicious cupcakes!!! More...

I have tried A number of the cupcake flavors and found them all to be delicious. The carrot cake and the double chocolate our favorites. The Dark and Tall might put you in a sugar coma, but it's worth it. You can tell they use quality ingredients and that's not always the case in a bakery. More...

First off I want to thank the wonderful staff at Bee's Knees for their help with my surprise. My partner was going back to Iraq at the beginning of this year and she loves cupcakes. I live in Las Vegas and she was leaving from Athens. I contacted several bakeries in the Athens/Bogart Area and Bee's Knees was the only one that would deliver to the area I needed them to and they had the best variety of cupcakes. They arranged everything over the phone and it was effortless. The nice gentleman on the phone took the time to tell me all the flavors and make suggestions. He didn't try to rush me off the phone like some other bakeries did. My delivery was delivered on time and fresh. My partner said they were the best cupcakes she ever had. She ate two of them and packed the rest of the dozen in a container and headed to the airport. The cupcakes survived the plane ride to Iraq and were still very moist and flavorful. To this day the red velvet cupcake is all she talks about. Every dessert item I've ever gotten here is delicious! However, the customer service isnt necessarily always overly welcoming or friendly. If you want great sweets I highly recommend especially the red velvet cupcakes!!! They are dense yet moist very smooth flavor and cream cheese frosting is delicious! Ill put these red velvet against anyone anywhere. I'll even break my good eating habits to cheat. The gooey bars are very good as well as the German Chocolate the one time I had it. More...
