Prior to adopting our puppy Haku we did a TON of research on doggie day cares in the Las Vegas area. While I work from home, my career demands I travel several times a year, and with my partner working out of the home, we wanted to make sure we had a great place to take care of our fur kid. We narrowed it down to Barx Parx and Dogtopia. Barx Parx isn't just a daycare though - they offer so much more, including puppy play and training classes! So far Haku has been to several Puppy Plays where he gets to run around with other puppies on the same vaccine schedule as him. This has been SO great for his socialization! He is learning bite inhibition and comes home one happy and tired puppy! We were so happy with the puppy play that we signed him up as soon as we could for beginner puppy training! We were extremely impressed with Stephanie's qualifications and the way she is so enthusiastic around the puppies! We are crossing our fingers that Haku grows up into a good boy and passes the Behavior Assessment after his final round of shots so he can go to day care and sleep overs (which are CRATE FREE! This is the first crate free facility we've ever seen!)I've read a few other reviews from the past few months and would like to address something for people considering this facility - let me clarify that my father back home in NY is a positive reinforcement dog trainer (certified STAR and CGC) and we had a therapy dog that did 9/11 relief. For as long as I can remember he dragged me along to dog event after dog event, I volunteered at the animal shelter for half a decade, and I worked in Manhattan as a dog walker and let me tell you - ANY facility that has dogs stay for an extended period of time will have some level of ammonia odor. They have dogs around 24/7 and use dog safe cleaners which will NOT get the ammonia scent 100% out. In fact, I KNOW I'd be hesitant to leave my dog in a facility that used cleaners strong enough to do so as they couldn't possibly be dog safe. I say this, again, as someone whose dog hasn't even been accepted for day care yet. Don't let those reviews hold you back from visiting this awesome facility! More...

Update on previous review: After speaking out about issues, regarding sanitary conditions, and the safety of the animals, I was permanently banned from the business. If you look further down the reviews, you'll see that I'm not the only person that has been banned from this business for speaking out about safety concerns and conditions. Even though the owner spends a lot of time writing flowery responses, it seems more important that people who have concerns are silenced than fixing any problem. Additionally, I had a friend this week got her dog back with from this place with a bad case of kennel cough ($$$). Do yourself a favor and do not bring your animal to this place. More...

I know any kennel or dog boarding business is going to have a little funky smell, but today when I dropped off my two dogs I could not believe heavy heavy stench off ammonia/ urine. It was so strong it made my eyes water. When we picked them up two hours later they both smelled horrible. We Had to bathe them when we got home to get the urine smell off them. Plus, had to call them on the phone when noticed on the video that they separated the dogs. One of the my dogs was having a complete fit, and they did nothing about it. Obvious poor cleaning and maintenance, along with supervision of the dogs. More...

I LOVE Barx Parx! The cage free boarding has been wonderful for my Nala who doesn't like to be by herself and always wants to play. My most recent boarding experience, Nala jumped and chipped her canine tooth and the owner called to let me know and even took her to the vet. I had very limited cell service and they made sure to communicate with me every step of the way in any way they could. They continued to take great care of her in the days following the incident and sent me a detailed recap of next steps with the vet. Super thankful to have someone treat my dog like their own while I am away! The pricing did go up recently and is a little too high for me, but it is worth it to know that my pup is always in good care. More...

Today was a rainy wet winter Saturday afternoon. We were in the area & decided to finally check out this amazing truly unique dog lovers scene. There were only two or three cars in the entire parking lot. As soon as we opened the front door a horrible foul smelling unhealthy urine odor just engulfed us. We could barely stand the smell long enough to walk to the girl behind the counter to get any information. One lady came in after us to get her dog. We couldn't see or hear any other dogs. We did mention to the girl working that someone possibly had an accident right near the main entrance but she did not seem at all phased. Her reaction was so nonchalant it's hard to see if she just didn't care or just couldn't smell ?!?Regardless, sadly we will not be planning on coming here again. Kudos on the concept though!(1/14/23) More...

I took my dog there for about 3 months. I bought merchandise treats, good tipper. One night I picked up my dog and one of the staff told the owner in so many words that I made a pass at her. I don't do things like that. Nevertheless, the owner Troy, called me and said my dog was banned from there. Unbelievable! What is this world coming to? When I tried to ask him what she said he wouldn't say. Furthermore, he said his employees come first? I replied what ever happened to the customer comes first because if no customers no business. I don't recommend this place for no one . With that kind of mentality how do you run a business ? There are many other places to take your dog but just fair warning, if you ever think of taking your dog there, I'd turn back if I were you. More...

We hired a wonderful dog trainer from them! Stephanie is the best. We waisted big bucks sending our dog to a trainer for 5 weeks and our dog wasn't herself for months. We hired Stephanie through BARX PARX and OMG our dog loves her plus the training was exemplary. Our dog isn't perfect but without Stephanie's training we were ready to put her down. Can't speak highly enough about Stephanie!!! Hope anyone who needs a great trainer calls and gets her. I know if we need follow up training we can call and schedule it which is fantastic. Thanks Stephanie for all you have done for our dog. More...

I couldn't be more THRILLED to have BarxParx here in Vegas-- in fact, I WISH they'd open up ANOTHER one, say... near Spring Valley or Summerlin? Ahhhhh that would be PERFECT-- and it is SOO NECESSARY for the health of our city's socialized dogs! You see, I absolutely SWEAR by Puppy Socialization classes-- my first dog, Arrow the Airedale (star of stage and screen-- no really, you can find him on FB/ IG!!) learned bite inhibition (!!) and how to get along with all kinds of 2-leggeds and 4-leggeds as well as various commands and motor skills (ramps, obstacles, his old NYC "school" even had a POOL for the dogs!!) within DAYS of starting ... I mean, I can train my dogs and get them exposed to all of that too, but not on the consistent scale and helpful supervision of other trainers and responsible pet parents within a dog-safe environment...BRING ON BARXPARX!My second pup, Scrappy, started attending at 12 weeks old, literally the week we brought him home from the breeder's. It has been 4 weeks of PURE joy, his and ours (myself and my husband)... watching him interact with everyone and breaking the monotony of life-as-usual every Sunday from 2-2:30 (but usually a bit longer than that, if we're lucky!)Stephy Gonzalez the EXPERT trainer and doggo guru always finds teachable moments in every class, and I always come away knowing more than when I walked in. In fact, I cannot wait to start Scrappy's obedience and agility training when he is ready (neutered). I KNOW BarxParx is more than capable of all of this, as Stephy and her staff are absolute pros in every way, they truly know breed temperaments and are clearly dog lovers all around!Plus, BarxParx also takes care of the 2-leggeds... there's dog-friendly Happy Hours and events all the time-- for BOTH you and your 4-legged. And yes, you fall in love with everyone's pup, and it somehow brings out the humanity in all of our post-pandemic-non-social hearts, because you start truly connecting with their humans too. Ahhh Barx Parx, you do all that for us!! What an AMAZING concept, what a gem of a place!(Now clone the Parx and open another on the other side of town! I'm clearly begging!) More...

Thank you Barx Parx for taking such good care of our Jimmy! We have boarded him twice now, once for 2 nights last month and then most recently for 5 nights. He has come back to us safe and sound each time! I was anxious dog mom as we have boarded him at a different luxe pet hotel before and he got colitis from that stay due to his stress. I watched him on camera so many times while we were gone and so happy to find him at times being loved on or even being carried by staff. I also appreciate the daily pictures that was sent. There is also a "report card" that you get at the end of stay. I also appreciate how easy it is to text in case of any questions. They do turn the lights off at night so you can't see your pet on the camera at night- I guess for me, it probably was not a bad thing or I would've watched stayed up and watched Jimmy all night. UPDATED !! WARNING DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE. Im so livid. I went here for more then two years and constantly have had issues with my dog being injured or coming home flinching. I went to pick up my dog and she came out with a HUGE gash on her head. I asked what happened and the lady sat there and denied anything. They continuously would forget where my dog even was because they would leave her in a room by herself. They said they would review the footage and get back to me over the gash but never have. !!Dont take your dog here unless you want them to come home with injuries and start flinching. !!!Update: the owner called me within 10 minutes of posting this review. She brought me in to show me the footage of my dog getting injured by another dog. She then went on to attack me for not seeking medical care immediately when that was technically their job since she got injured there. Next she went on to try to tell me there's "no evidence" the gash came from their facility & got extremely defensive telling me "no other daycare would accept" my dog. & telling me that "I should be thankful for all they've done for" my dog. The treatment was hilariously astonishing. Then she comments on this attacking me even more. It just goes to show that she constantly attacks all owners with an issue with her business instead of taking responsibility for an issue. Even showing me the video proof of my dog getting injured. Instead she takes to my Instagram and takes a silly bio seriously just to continue to attack me. This is what they do when an issue arises. She even sat there and said Adina played so well that day. Thanks for the whole 30 dollars when money wasn't even the issue. I just asked for responsibility to be taken. But you aren't even able to take responsibility for something that happened very clearly under your watch. Attached are "said crazy Insta pictures" along with her healed wounding. She claims they couldn't have healed that quickly yet scabs form and wounds start healing immediately . POST THE WHOLE VIDEO NOT SCREENSHOTS SKIPPING OVER IT. I'm done with you. Stopped in to get information about grooming, boarding and letting our dogs go into the play area. Understanding it is a dog play place, but there is a strong urine smell when entering the facility which leads me to wonder about cleaning standards. While my wife was chatting with an associate, I opened the exterior gate to get closer so I could look into the area the dogs play (which had an additional fence). As I was walking another worker abruptly said, "You can't be back here without signing a waiver". There was no sign indicating this when I went in, and not a pleasant "I'm sorry, but we do need you to sign a waiver to be back here, would you like to sign one?" She was too interested in continuing her conversation with the other employees. There were 2-3 other people in the place, so I'd think they would want to make people checking it out feel welcome. It was a terrible/unacceptable customer experience and just from that interaction, I will never consider taking either of our dogs there. I will actively recommend other options to friends and family looking for grooming/boarding, etc. More...

I'm sure that like all other negative reviews on their yelp page, the owner or manager of Barx Parx will respond to try and mitigate the fact that they overreact to any incident with dogs. I should have trusted my intuition and taken our rescue pup somewhere else but it was convenient so we kept taking out dog their. Our dog was banned "forever" in one of the most rude phone calls from either the manager or the owner. This woman should get some classes in public relations and learn how to run a service business. We are reasonable people and would have gladly had a reasonable discussion about a fight that our dog got in with another dog but the owner or manager (I am not sure which) was more concerned that our dog made her staff members cry. The reality is that this business hires mostly young people ( likely because they are cheap labor) who are Ill equipped to pick up on signs of dog behavior and don't have strong personalities needed to stop things before they start. I am not saying that our dog is blameless, he is very high energy and can be a handful but he is a good dog that all of the staff there loves ( we were told this everyday and when leaving the staff was tell our pup good bye and that they would miss him.) It's a shame that this business is run by such an overactive and unreasonable person. They have a great set up and it is ideal for most dog owners. That said, if you have a dog that does anything other that lay around on the floor all day, be aware that at some point, you will almost certainly get a nasty, rude and overactive phone call telling you to take your dog and never come back.Update: Just as I mentioned in my review, I expected a reply and it is not all representative of the conversation that was had with my wife. Her immediate comment to my wife was belligerent and combative and there was never a single mention of "a weak break." It was immediately, "and I quote, " Your dog is out of control. You need to come get him and he can never come back." This response is full of half truths and outright lies. As you can see by this response, if your dog is high energy, this likely isn't a place for your dog. More...

Just updating this review as I for some reason had a horrible nightmare about my experience here. I recall coming here trying to find out if I'm able to board a very young puppy, and when asked such a question the response I got was to "google it. "I'm not sure how a dog daycare place is employing people that have no idea about safe minimum boarding age and on top of that I've no idea what kind of business policy leads to their representatives telling potential new customers to "google it." I'm updating this for two reasons. 1) Because on the previous review, the owner responded with completely fabricated lies. They never stated anything about 8 weeks, not sure where she's getting that from. You can tell by how defensive and accusatory they were they already feel their reputation is on shaky ground. and 2) the experience was just so bad that I wanted to make sure more people knew. My dog loves coming here to play with his doggie friends. He's an only doggie so it's the best place for him to socialize and run around. Two things stood out to me about this facility when I was looking for a daycare/dog park1: dog to trainer ratio - you can't find any lower in Vegas2: emphasis on individual training for dogs who may be reactive or need some help socializing outside of general play. Sometimes I get the feeling that other dog daycare assessments are just for show (at the end of the day they don't want to turn away paying customers).
